Chunkymonkey and Chubbyhubby eat for free! WE ARE BACK! Photo Teasers pg. 23!!

ooohh let me know what you think of POFQ! I am deciding between staying there (if I get a pin) or renting points at AKL. We walked around POFQ for a bit and it's beautiful! I like that it's a small resort.

I've stayed at CBR and it's so, so nice. We had a car though, so I can't comment on bus transportation.

Your itinerary looks so good! :goodvibes I think you should take a bus to MK and then the monorail. It's faster, and you'll get to hear the good ole resort monorail loop!

I will def post my reviews of the POFQ! It's funny, I am not yet done with the PTR and am already thinking about what I need to do for my TR. LOL :rotfl:

That was exactly the reason I picked POFQ, if I wasn't staying deluxe, I wanted to stay at a moderate that had character, is less crowded, and more serene. I definitely don't like crowds (which is odd that I like going to WDW hehe).

Thanks! I posted on the transportation board and they too recommended the Bus to MK and then monorail to resorts. They told me to expect a 1 hour commute though! That is longer than my commute to work LOL.
But it's ok if we get there early as it'll give us a chance to walk around the Poly and CR which I have not done in a really really long time.

In reference to Handbags- I am also a big fan of taking no bags into Disney. It is so nice to skip right by all the lines for bag check. I used to always find zipper pockets and travel very light. Of course, now that we have our two boys, those days are over and we carry around a big monstrous bag. I saw the Disney D&B bag the last time we were at Disney and wanted it immediately. And then I imagined myself carrying around diapers and baby food in it.:lmao: So it will probably be several more years before I have any nice handbags again.

In reference to Former Traveling Pictures- Wow! Bora Bora and Tahita are so cool! Thanks to your pictures, both locations have just made my list of places to go someday. And I am curious as to what the first location pictured is. Obviously, a city and somewhere cold, with a sports team with blue and orange colors. Could it be Chicago?

LOL! That sounds like a friend of mine who used to share my obsession with handbags until she had a baby, and now she can only carry a diaper bag with her at all time. Albeit, a stylish diaper bag though. LOL. :rotfl:

YES!! It is Chicago! Points for PirateKate!! It is DH's favorite city (other than NYC that is) and he is a big Chicago Bears fan. So for our anniversary last year, I took him to Chicago to watch a Bears game. We had an amazing weekend there and I now love Chicago too.

Thank you! Tahiti and especially Bora Bora are absolutely gorgeous. It was my dream honeymoon. We could probably never afford to go there again, so I can only dream. The next best thing would be to stay at the Poly right? :lmao: Next time we plan a relaxing Disney vacation (whenever that is, LOL) we will stay at the Poly and relive our honeymoon, Disney style.

I wrote a honeymoon TR if you are interested, here. It showcases our trip with tons of pictures, reviews and tips. I wrote it about 2 days after we got back from the honeymoon and I am so glad I did it as I can revisit our trip and remember each moment and meal in detail. Sort of like when writing a Disney TR!

Your honeymoon report was awesome! So beautiful there... I was such a good idea to create that; I wish I would have done that on our Wedding Cruise/Mexico Honeymoon.

Wow really?? Geez I need to get the free one next time! I think I'd eat at all TS then if I had it!

I really can't wait to read what you think about all of them!!!!!

I loved your honeymoon report! You were such a beautiful bride! Your wedding looked great :)

Tahiti & Bora Bora are breathtaking. That walkway is incredible

So it won't come as a surprise to most of you reading my thread that I had been flipflopping between staying deluxe at the contemporary or staying moderate at POFQ. Almost everyone we spoke to told us to stay POFQ because of the charming and pretty grounds.

So we've made the decision to go back to moderate and stay at POFQ. Myself and DH thought it just wouldn't make much sense for us to stay deluxe since we spend so much time at the parks, and barely at the resort, so we didn't want to pay a premium for something we wouldn't use much. Of course the monorail is a great plus at the CR, but we weren't even getting a tower room, just a garden wing room, which I was told was a hike to the monorail anyways. So after thinking about it a while, we are going to revert back to our original choice which was POFQ, which was really where my heart lay in the first place. I chose it because of the theme and because it is relatively convenient. This saves us a little more than 500 dollars on the trip. :woohoo: I feel a shopping spree coming on...:rotfl:

So I will be asking my very nice agent from Mouseketrips of he would be so kind to change my reservation. He told me I could make any change I want provided it was before July 20th based on availability. So POFQ would be my first choice and then POR, CBR, and CSR in that order.

BTW, does anyone have a room preference at POFQ or any other moderate resorts? I want to stay as close to transportation as possible. Thanks!

Neat!!! We'll be staying at the same resort!!!

Since I've never stayed there before, I don't know this for sure, but what I've heard from everyone is that the resort is so small that every room is close to everything- transportation, the pool, food court, etc. But according to the map it looks like buildings 4 and 5 are closest to the buses...

I hope you enjoy POFQ and I especially hope you enjoy the beignets!

Thank you! I am really glad I did it as it allowed us to relive the honeymoon bit by bit as we settled back into reality :cloud9:

Your cruise wedding looked really fun! How awesome must have have been to be partying with all your guests on the entire cruise!?!?

I wish I could eat all TS! It wouldn't be free then! 1 TS and 1QS plus a snack a day per person. It's good enough for us!

aaaww *blushes* Thank you!! It really means a lot!
Yes the walkways were just breathtaking. The whole island itself is like a painting. I totally see why it's called the most beautiful place on earth. It certainly is for us. However, the most magical place is Disney!

I think we will really enjoy the POFQ. It sounds like my kinda resort, quaint and themed, and small-ish (for Disney at least, LOL)

I requested a room close to the action so we'll see what building they put us in! I hear it's quite accessible from all rooms though!

I actually participated in a free webinar today about wedding photography using the lensbaby. It was pretty neat! Totally reminded me about you too! They went through the different types of lensbabies and the effects it produces. Very neat! Will have to check it out one day! :woohoo:

So just a quick update. I've actually been debating whether or not to do T-Rex for dinner or try something a lttle more exotic. I have booked a 4:30pm reservation at Yak n Yeti in AK at the same time as our T-Rex ressie, and I figure we will cancel one of them as we get closer to the date. We were comparing menus and offerings and we just like the tune of Yak and Yeti's food. It will be our first time there. We will most likely end up stopping at T-Rex at some point uring the vacay, maybe for an appetizer or drink just to get a feel of the place since we are staying to close to DTD anyways.

And so I've also been on the lookout for a nice comfortable camera strap for my DSLR. I see so many cute ones on Etsy, and I am temped to buy a few. However I didn't want to have to bother to change straps alot, so I wanted something that was a)interesting, b)comfortable, and c)neutral enough of a palette so I won't clash too much with my clothes and d)won't get dirty easily, therefore anything too light or white is out.

So here are some of my faves:

Which one do you guys like?

L&T is a great place for lesportsac as they often have sales and you can use the coupons for 15% off too! Nowadays I shop for Lesportsac at Macy's or at the outlet. The outlet is great for finding older prints at cheaper prices. There is one up at Woodbury Common outlets in Central Valley, NY. I love lesportsac because in addition to being cute and lightweight, they are insanely durable. I also have some of the Stella McCartney for Lesportsac line as well as Tokidoki for Lesportsac and I love them too.

Is Tokidoki the ones that look like Gwen Stefani's LAMB prints? I haven't seen the Stella McCartney prints. I've been out of the loop for a while with my shopping :sad1:. I would love to go to a LeSportsac Outlet. Maybe there is one near me. I'll have to look it up.

That's a good idea to bring a list of snacks with us. There is a side of me who likes being spontaneous too and following my craving. I want to make sure I'm using my snack credit on the best possible item that day. I dunno, I guess it is like a game to me, LOL. Best Snack Value for Snack Credit game. :rotfl:

It's funny how guys tend to have a one track mind, hehe. I know my DH loves dole whip too so I'm pretty sure we'll be using both our snack credits on those at some point. I don't think he snacked as much on our last trip, it was mainly me. I dunno if it's because I am just hungry all the time...:rotfl2:

I will be sure to eat the beignets as soon as I get them. I always like my food fresh and hot to experience the best flavor. So even if I have no room, I will make room! :lmao:

I thinking making a list of snacks to try would be a good idea, too. I am always seeing so many yummy things on here that I want to try but there is no way I can come close to remembering all of them.

Thanks for the heads up... I signed up, but sadly my wee one is not so wee any more. The Disney stuff only goes up to 24months. Super cute stuff though!

Have you decided which bag you were going to purchase? I photographer friend of mine had a KATA bag which he wore arond his waist when shooting, and it was soooo easy to change lenses and stuff. IT also had a nice bright yellow lining. I myself just ordered a Kelly Moore bag so that I can use it as both a storage bag and shooting bag. My shootsac is just to soft to use as a storage bag but I like it for shooting.

I'm going with this bag. I went to the camera store last week and put it on and wore it around the store. Very comfortable! And SO easy to access my camera! Which is great because I know at WDW, I'll be pulling my camera out, then putting it away, then pulling it out, then putting it away...

Tokidoki is kind of cartoonish, and usually the prints are very colorful and fun. They often have different prints each season. However I haven't seen them recently so they may not have brought out new bags. Here's an example of a Tokidoki print:

They are oftentimes displayed with the L.A.M.B. bags so they may be confused with them, but I think they target the same general age population.

Stella McCartney had only a few prints, mostly solid colors, but her bags are very functional and stylish. Lots of pockets, zippers, etc. She even made luggage as well! Here are a few she did for Lesportsac. Unfortunately they no longer carry them but there are a number on ebay

Definitely try and find a Lesportsac outlet if you can. Lots of great finds at cheap prices.

LOL, my thoughts exactly for creating my list! :rotfl:

Nice choice! I've seen the tamrac bags and they are really nice and sturdy. I check them out each time I go to B&H superstore in NYC. I can never go to that store...I never leave without spending $$$ on more gear! Sigh.

Oh too bad! The stuff is really cute though. I like how the designs are subtle and pretty but still very "Disney" :cutie:

Here are some other sites with sales as well that I browse:

www.giltgroup.com
www.ruelala.com
www.beyondtherack.com

The tokidoki print is cute. I LOVE both of the Stella bags. So great and would go with everything I own. I will definitely have to search for them on ebay. Thanks for the heads up. :thumbsup2 It makes me so happy that I finally met someone on the dis who love LeSportsac as much as me. :goodvibes Everyone on the dis seems to be all about VB. VB is cute but LeSportsac is definitely much more me and my style.

Oooh I just LOVE Lesportsac. I have stopped buying them in the past year or so just because I have sooo many! I also realized I have a lot of prints...so it might actually be worth it to invest in a plain black lesportsac, because there are times when I am wearing a patterned shirt, and carrying a different pattern Lesportsac (usually when I dont' have time to change bags in the am!), and now with a patterned camera strap...I'd really look like complete Fashion DON'T. LOL. But I feel the patterns are what make Lesportsac cute!
VB is pretty but it's definitely not me either. I like more modern and/or cute designs. And I also like they are waterproof and lightweight. Yay! :thumbsup2
