Chunkymonkey and Chubbyhubby eat for free! WE ARE BACK! Photo Teasers pg. 23!!

I'm so excited that you changed to POFQ!! We loved it there on our HM! It's so small and such a gorgeous property!

Let me know how the strap works out! I need to get a new one for my camera; the standard one it came with scratches up my neck.

Do you carry your DSLR on the plane? This will be my first time traveling with mine.

Thanks, we are excited about POFQ too! Yay, can't wait to get there!!

Heres the camera strap I ended up ordering from Etsy. The pic is a bit blury. But it's a blae and white patterm, with a soft minky side that is pink. I hope it fits. I ordered because the designer/crafter was only doing a sale that day and it wasonly 10 bucks. So we'll see if I like it and will most likely order more hehe. Yup I bring my DSLR on the plane to keep it with me at all times

Very pretty. I envy your ability to need a camera strap. ;) I am lucky to have my camera tucked away in my pocket. It isn't a horrible little camera..but it is far from great. It does the job for me..and since I can't do much with it anyway, it works. You take wonderful pictures by the way. The one from the helicopter is breathtaking.

You will LOVE POFQ! It's tied with CSR as my favorite resort and I keep flip-flopping in my mind about which resort to stay at. We are booked for CSR but every once in a while something in my head says that I should switch to FQ.

We stayed in building 1 in 2008 and we were right next to the main building. But we did walk around a little bit and everything is pretty close. It's beautiful and quiet and I loved it!

You will also love Boma! I love going there for breakfast! I've heard that if you take a bus to AK, and tell the driver that you actually need to get to AKL Jambo House, they will sometimes take you right there instead of making you change buses. But I've never been brave enough to ask

The pics from your wedding and honeymoon were gorgeous! I'm so glad you had a good time!

Thank you! The helicopter ride itself was amazing. It was probably one of the best things we'd ever done on a trip. It's one of those once in a lifetime experiences. Its too expensive to do it regularly.

I love point and shoot cameras. I think they have come a long way and they take wonderful pictures. I travel with 2 cameras, a dslr and when I am lazy, I use the p and s. I also have a gorillapod which I stick my p and s on and it's easy to use!

Thank you! And I am really happy I stuck to my first choice of staying at POFQ. I am really looking forward to staying at the resort. *does happy dance*

Mmmm. Have you been to Boma for dinner? I would really want to try that for breakfast too one day. Their menu sounds sooo interesting and fun!

Thanks for the tip on the buses! I may ask if the bus isn't too full.

You really will love it...it's so peaceful. :cloud9:

Never been there for dinner...just for breakfast so far. I'm usually pretty lazy by the time dinner rolls around and would rather just eat AT the park I happen to be in. Although maybe next year I might try out Boma for dinner after a day at AK. Hmmm....I'm already planning next years trip and I still have 4 months to go before THIS YEAR'S trip! :rotfl:

I think it's definitely worth it to ask...I'm just not brave enough lol You ask for me and tell me what happens! :rotfl2: I was considering just asking someone at the desk...maybe they have a way to contact the dispatcher who can advise the driver in advance? I really should hang out on the food boards more often and get answers to all of these questions!

I think I am the opposite. I think I am lazier in the morning so getting to breakfast ADRs are a big thing for me. It's amazing I like eating breakfast so much, or else I woudln't bother! LOL. And I do also want to try the much-talked-about Tonga Toast. Which is the only reason I'm hauling myself over to the Poly from POFQ. :rotfl:

Hmm, I am not brave enough either. I guess I will see what mood the bus driver in. I can always play the clueless first-time-in-WDW card, and pretend I have no idea where the bus is taking me, and asking them if they do drop off at Jambo house. LOL :cutie:

Are there any sites other than wdwinfo, allears or mousesavers which you like to visit to get more information for your upcoming trip?

If you enjoy drinking, I'd recommend Party Through The Parks Currently it lists all the places you can find booze in the parks. They're working on adding the resorts as well... so far it only has the Boardwalk. It lists what kind of drinks you can buy, how much they cost and gives reviews of the place. And it's mobile phone friendly so you can access it from a cell phone while you're at WDW! (Besides WDW, it also has drink info for SeaWorld and Universal Studios)

One of my friends from high school recommended Intercot.com/ I haven't checked it out much but it seems informative!

Since you're staying at POFQ, I'd recommend PortOrleans.org In the video clips section they have a walking tour of the whole resort which is pretty neat! And gives you a pretty good idea of how long it would take you to get around the resort!

- In retaliation to all the weight I’ve been gaining living at home, I’ve bought these sandals from Sketchers to try and help me get back in shape. I got them in black. I don’t think I walk as much as I’d like to in order for them to be effective enopugh, but each step I take counts right? LOL :lmao:
41ldbojh0BL._AA300_.jpg

Ooh, do you know if they are made for walking a lot in??? I walk dogs for a living, so I walk A LOT and I wear holes in the bottom of my sandals in just a couple months! It's so frustrating! And I hate to wear sneakers in the summer because the temperature is in the mid to upper 90's and it's just hot and miserable and my feet get WAY too hot and miserable if I don't wear sandals!

- I want to go see the following movies this weekend: TOY STORY 3, TOY STORY 3, TOY STORY 3

ME TOO!!! I had to work all weekend so I didn't get to see it! Hopefully I'll get to see it this week or next weekend. I'm a little bummed. Since The Boyfriend and I have been dating we've seen every single Pixar movie in the theater on opening day... with the exception of Ratatouille which we went to a sneak peek screening of before it was released in theaters! Toy Story 3 broke our perfect streak! Sad.

- I leave for Las Vegas next weekend! I am pretty excited as it’s been the first vacation I have had since January. We go to Vegas every year and we love it! I am planning to play penny slots (I don’t really gamble that much anymore, just penny slots LOL!), clubbing with my friends, EATING (my favorite restaurant there is Bouchon, and my favorite buffet is at the Wynn), go shopping, and relax and get a tan by the pool. DH has decided to play poker the entire time so I may or may not see him all weekend. LOL. :rotfl: We are staying at the Venetian on the strip. But what I am really looking forward to is eating In-N-Out burger. We love that place, and every time we are on the west coast we eat there or drive-thru at least once, LOL. popcorn::

Have a fun trip!!!! I've never been to Vegas, but I LOVED Atlantic City!!! And I've heard Vegas is just a million times better!

Those sandals are really cute! I bought some of the Reebok Easytone tennis shoes to try and tone my legs some and they really seem to work. If I wear them a whole bunch my leg muscles start to burn like crazy!

Alright, I'm all caught up.

I can't wait to eat at Boma's for dinner too!

Those Disney Couture necklaces are GORGEOUS. I so want them! My mom bought me a Disney Swarovski necklace recently. I'll be putting up a picture of it in my PTR soon (I hope).

The strap you chose is very cute. I had no idea there were so many designs! I HAVE seen some very cute camera bags though. I have a friend that bought a small camera bag, just to use for everday! It's called the 2 million dollar bag, I think

Yay for Boma! I am super stoked to try something new and different like Boma. We'll have to let each other know what we think.

Thank you! I love them. I wear them all the time. The Wish one is super cute even at work. I think it gives me a little edge to my otherwise boring work clothes. LOL

The bag your friend has is from a brand called Crumpler. I myself have a 5 milllion dollar crumpler bag. It's a larger model but it really isn't that big. At least for all my gear! but I love all the options on etsy for cute straps and bags. Super cute.:cutie:

They are actually pretty nice and thick. Great cushioning, and good arch support. I do feel a little bit of work in my legs but I also think I am dragging my heels as I walk so it may not be as effective for me. They may be a tad large on me but the smaller size i think were too tight on top.Oh well. The search for the perfect park shoe still goes on, although these are pretty good...:confused3

Doing something counts more than sitting on the coach eating potato chips. So at least your trying. :) Good luck! I haven't tried those shoes.

Awesome! Thanks for links. I had seen the Port Orlean ones briefly. There's a lot of good info on there so I will have to peruse it more. and I have heard of Intercot too.
Thanks for the Part in the Park link as well! DH and I don't drink that much but we occassionally have a glass or two of wine. But the WDW drinks look like so much fun...glowtinis look yummy too! I like how they put the prices on everything. Very useful!

Yes it looks like it was made to do a lot of walking! The soles are super thick and the construction is very sturdy. I was looking at these as well as the FitFlop model which were the original ones. The FitFlops don't fit me as well and I didn't like the design. I found that these Skechers were more comfortable. I can see myself wearing these for a long time. And hopefully get in shape as well, LOL. Think they will be pretty good park shoes, but I have not been in them for longer than a few hours so not sure if I will be completely sore after wearing them AND walking all over for a few days straight![/quote]

ME TOO!!! I had to work all weekend so I didn't get to see it! Hopefully I'll get to see it this week or next weekend. I'm a little bummed. TS3 was sooooo good. You will probably see it soon so you will know yourself anyways. Loved it.

Have a fun trip!!!! I've never been to Vegas, but I LOVED Atlantic City!!! And I've heard Vegas is just a million times better!

Yes, Vegas is sooooooo much better than AC. AC is more old school and a bit more dated. It's sooo much fun in Vegas and I can't wait! Great restaurants, and fun times in general. :woohoo: You don't even need a lot of time in Vegas, 2-3 days is really all you need so a long weekend is perfect!

Haha, I sit on my butt all day at work, so I can't say I am really doing that much. The shoes are fun, but they aren't exactly "stylish" - they really look quite chunky, and borderline clunky, especially since I wear business casual work clothes and wear the sandals to commute to work. I leave dress shoes at work and change into them. But while I commute I think it looks funny with my work outfits. LOL. It looks much better with jeans or shorts or something super casual, LOL.

Oh well but at least it's funny to you. :) That's great though that you wear them and I'm sure it takes some of the pain out of dress shoes if I'm thinking heels. I HATE them. They really tear up my feet. I've gotten so many blisters and cuts from heels I'm almost ready to throw every single pair I have and just wear flats..

Just wanted to say hi girl! :)

Hi Christina!! Thanks for saying hi! Just got back from vacay and *yawn* it's been a busy week at work already. I'm gonna do a post about my mini trip to Vegas shortly.

I totally know what you mean. I never wear heels unless I am in the office. Way too uncomfortable for me. I had to wear heels to a club in Vegas and I swear I couldn't walk back from the club because my feet hurt! They did look nice though. I forget how a good pair of heels can make your legs look longer! LOL

Vegas Recap:

We flew one of my favorite airlines, Jetblue, direct from JFK to LAS. The Jetblue terminal is fairly new, and they have one of my favorite stores, Muji.
www.muji.us/store/
For those of you who don’t know what Muji is, it’s basically a modern Japanese store that seels everything from luggage, housewares, to travel-size containers, stationary, and even clothes. Everything is very modern, clean, and functional. I really love their travel-sized containers that come in different sizes. So I buy them a lot. This trip was no different. I purchased two 2oz plastic bottles, a plastic pill case and a few packing cubes.
The cubes are nylon and mesh and look a lot like these from Rick Steve’s, but I bought 2 of them in the small size in burgundy, and 1 larger one in black

41%2BsXkM09fL._AA300_.jpg

They are great for neat packing and also great to organize clean vs. dirty clothes. I may get a few more for DH too since I like them a lot.

Flight in Vegas was uneventful, and when we deplaned, we rented a car. We had to take a shuttle to the car, and the line at Thrifty was not that long but it was moving soooo slowly. There were only 2 people at the counter! Grr. I was a Blue Chip member which is their version of frequent flier miles, and usually you can use a kiosk, but after asking about 5 people where the kiosk was, they told me they didn’t have one. There was a separate line for Blue Chip members but when I went onto that line, I wasn’t sure if it really helped as there was only 1 person working on that queue!! Sigh. So after waiting about 20 minutes, we finally got into our car and drove off. Got an economy rental, but the car had absolutely no power. I drove at a snails pace on the highway because the car wouldn’t go any faster, LOL. I will probably not rent an economy car again.

We stayed at The Venetian, which is one of my favorite hotels. All the rooms have a separate living room and the bathrooms are bigger than our bedroom in our apartment, LOL.

Rather than go into a play-by-play of what we did in Vegas, I’ll just share what we did and the meals we ate:

In-n-out!!! I had the double double animal style. For those of you who don’t know, In n Out is the best fast food burgers you’ll ever have. The freshest ingredients, at a very low price. Animal style means it has grilled onions, mustard and special sauce. They don’t have this back in NYC.  We did get to go twice though, yay.

Hot N Juicy Crawfish. I saw this place on the Travel Channel and just HAD to go. I love spicy seafood, and this one was fantastic. Reminded me a lot of The Boiling Crab in California where they serve you the seafood hot and steaming in plastic bags. Warning: very messy! Me and DH split 2 lbs of shrimp and 1lb of snow crab in the Hot n Juicy special sauce. Sides of corn and rice too. We came here twice too since it was so good we wanted some more, the second time we only shared a pound of shrimp since we had to gobble our food to make it to our flight back home.

Bouchon for brunch and also for dinner another day. My favorite restaurant in Vegas, and pretty much the United States. Classic French cuisine done extremely well. For brunch, I had the boudin blanc n eggs, and DH had the Breakfast Americaine, which was basically eggs, bacon, sausage, pastry, coffee and juice. For dinner, I had the croquet madame, which is basically a ham n cheese sandwich with a fried egg and mornay sauce. It is the best sandwich I have ever eaten! Served with the best fries ever. DH had the pork loin which was good too. I *heart* Bouchon. I have never had a bad meal here.

B&B which stands for Batali and Bastianich. An Italian restaurant by famed chef, Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich, a restauranteur. It was delicious. I got the linguine with pancetta and clams, and DH had a steak. Although after the dinner, we felt a little ill. We weren’t sure why though since the food was really good.

Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf for my favorite drink, English Breakfast Tea Lattes. They also don’t have this in NYC, so I drink it all the time when I am out on the west coast. I’d get 2 tea lattes a day. An iced on during the day and a hot one at night. 

LAVO for some drinks and clubbing. Me and DH are not big club goers at all (well, I was in college but that was eons ago!). But our friend was celebrating her birthday and so we all had a night out. I wore heels out for the first time since my wedding, and boy did my feet hurt! It's bi-level and the lower level is a restaurant as well. We didn't eat here by my friends did and they said it was OK.

We went to see Jersey Boys. I am not really much of a musical/broadway person. I have seen my share when I was younger and I am not too interested as an adult (unless it's at Disney!). But our friends went to to se Cirque du Soleil's O, and we didn't want to see it so saw this instead. I must admit I really liked it and highly enjoyed it. We purchased the cheapest seats in the back row mezzanine but and usher kindly upgraded us to orchestra!!! That was probably why I enjoyed the show so much, hehe.

Did a bit of gambling, but didn't actually win anything! But spent a lot of time by the pool, a LOT of eating, and did some shopping. Although I didn't buy anything big, I did get a pair of these flipflops on sale:

erez

They are super cute and are metallic-y shimmery which make them slightly dressier.

Overall, a fun trip with lots of food. It was nice to just chill and walk around. However, me and DH kept losing our key cards to our room. It was a pain to keep walking back to the front desk to get them replaced. Hope it doesn't happen at WDW too often! I will post a few pics later tonight. I didn't take too many since I didn't have my DSLR and most places we went to were too dark to get anything decent.

Sounds like you had a nice trip. I have never been to Vegas. We are on the west coast, but with kids it just has never seemed like a good idea. Now that most of our kids are getting a bit older we have been thinking about it. I am intrigued by the places you ate at. Never have I had a burger from In and Out...nor have I had one of those lattes.

BTW, cute shoes!

Wow! You stayed at the Venetian! My family went in august of 2007 and stayed at Circus Circus. We visited a bunch of the hotels and my mom fell in love with the Venetian. I'm hoping to surprise my mom and dad with a stay there sometime soon.

What? You were in Vegas and DIDN'T eat at a buffet??? *le gasp!* Haha, I'm jk of course :D

I should check out muji. Those mesh bags look awesome. I'm able to compact a lot of things in my suitcase, but it's just a mess finding everything cause I have small items crammed in corners and such.

Just a few pics from our trip.
