Chubby Character Audition

I'm glad to hear you went for it! I'm planning on going to some character auditions when they come to my state later this month and I'm so nervous and scared! But it's my dream to become a face character, I'm hoping for Rapunzel, and I figure I won't know unless I try! Do you have any tips for the audition? Sorry not trying to hijack your thread here...

KUDOS to you OP for trying out !

You never know... as pp's said... keep trying ! OR... go for CM and then you may get an "inside scoop" on what to do to get chosen...

Better to give it 100 %....

Than to ...later... wonder what "if" you HAD given 100 %....

Success has some percentage of "timing" and "luck"... it's not ALL Talent....so you could have ALL the talent and maybe just this time was not timed right...

Hugs,
Mary

The biggest thing I can tell you, get there EARLY, and smile!! I got to my audition an hour before the doors opened, and it worked out nicely.

You'll go in, get measured (without shoes on, and they will squash your hair if it's poofed up at all) then you get a number, and wait. They'll call you into a 2nd room in groups of about 30 (?) and you'll learn a really basic "movement" combo that you'll do across the floor, and then they'll make their first round of cuts. (this is if you are at a "character performer/look alike & parade/show performer" auditions, which are the most general, and if you work at WDW as any kind of character, you will do it all, not just one type of character)

Check the disneyaudtions website for more height requirements, and they are really strict on their heights, but sometimes your Disney height can be different from your real height.

Just go in, be yourself, smile, and have a lot of fun! They are some of the funnest auditions I've ever been do (I'm in fact on my way to one in DLR currently!) Go big with your movements, remember that it is easier to tone it down than to tone it up!

Hope that helps!
