Christmas week vs End of June

I am starting some early planning for a Disney trip.

Based on crowds and weather, would you rather visit Disney during the week of Christmas to New Years or the last week of June?

What reason would you prefer one over the other?

We would be staying for 7 days.

I have 4 children.. Ages: 8, 6, 4 and 2.5.

Thanks for your help!

The crowds are much more manageable in June. And the weather, while hot, is at least predictable. December can be hot or cold. It can also be cold and rainy, which is the worst. There is nothing I hate worse than being soaked to the bone when it's 40 degrees - I'll take the heat over that any day of the week.

The week between Christmas and New Year's is the busiest of the year. I'd definitely go with te last week of June, since I try to avoid crowds at all costs. June will definitely be hot and humid, but nowhere near the crowds. With a good "heat management plan" :), you'll be fine!

We are going next year dec 22-29th, we have done stays in April, May and June and wanted to see Disney at Christmas. We could have got a better deal for an August stay but the thought of being in the most magical place on earth for Christmas sold it to me. We have never stayed onsite before but because we know it's going to be so much busier, we decided to splurge to cut down on travelling time to and from the parks. The weather for us won't be too much of an issue, anything warmer than -3 to 4 degrees is going to be an improvement for us at that time of year :)
Plus we both have 2 weeks off at Christmas so we won't have to take our daughter out of school and face getting fined. I think it depends on your approach and what your expectations are. I am prepared that we won't be doing every attraction at every park at Christmas, but it will be CHRISTMAS and Its going to be awesome :) happy planning

I've done both in the past year. End of June is hotter and still crowded. If you're like us, and don't mind the crowds, then go in December. The only major difference is the pricing. You'll be paying a lot more in the holiday season. In my opinion, it is completely worth it. Disney World at Christmas is amazingly awesome. It will be much cooler and probably just as crowded - maybe a little bit more. The FP+ system really allows you to get a lot done - so don't worry about not being able to ride anything.

On the flip side - summer is great because the kids will love spending time at the pools and taking breaks mid day. Summer nights at Disney can be really fun! Good luck, just know that no matter what you choose you cant go wrong!

June vote here too...Christmas is just way too busy for me, very pretty, but SUPER crowded.

I would go june over that specific week in december unless there is some other reason that braving the busiest week at WDW is worth it.

We have done the end of June and the first week of December ( without kids!!). We are going the week after Christmas 12/27 - 1/2/16 with our teenage children, my brother and his family. Although it is warmer in June and the crowds may be less we are looking forward to the atmosphere of the Holidays ( we do not plan to get on many rides). Which ever you choose, I am sure you will have many other visits that you will be able to enjoy with your family

Ummm...neither! June is too hot and Christmas is too busy. But if that is the only time you can go then just enjoy and have fun!

I would pick Christmas. The cooler weather andChristmas decorations are worth it to me. You just have to plan for Christmas - book things to get you out of crowds whenever possible.
