Christmas Tree Toppers

What goes on top of your tree? An angel? A star?

I've always liked this type of spire. Mine is plain red like in the photo, but there are many elaborate ones. Mine is glass, so I gotta be careful with it.

I have another in a Santa shape, similar to this.

Does anybody have something totally bizarre, like these?

I have a star. It's kind of plain, but I like it. I've had it for years.

This year it's an angel. We also have a silver star that projects a rainbow light pattern on the ceiling and a Tinkerbell in a red outfit we've used.

I have this on my small tree, which I do all in blue and white. I'm sure there are a few other geeks on the board who will get it.

On our main/real tree, I have a multi-colored stained glass look star that my grandmother used to put up.

I have 3 tree toppers. Glass ones, like in the first post, but fancier. One large and 2 small. BUT, our tree topper is a paper plate angel created by my son in kindergarten.

I had an angel for years, then a solid star, then a filigree star, and now I have a Santa hat. Trying to get those other toppers to stay on and stay straight drove me nuts, so I took the path of least resistance and went for something simple.

Always a star. We've had ours for 17 years. Got it at Target. When Target had aisles and aisles of Christmas decor. The spiral holder for the star itself broke off years ago. Yet it's better without the spiral holder since it's hallow inside and had no lights. The star slips right on and I'm able to put the tree lights in it to light it up. It's sort of like this, but way better with thicker gold outlines.

Exact same here, except for a couple of years during my early childhood that DMom used a tin-foil star I made as an art project. It was hideous but she was a great mother and displayed it proudly. I'd love to see it again just for old time's sake.
