WE will be going to disney for our first family trip on Dec 8. I did not get tickets for the MVMCP as I think our kids are going to poop out by the evening and won't enjoy it. I was reading on the main site about "christmas at disney" and it referred to a christmas parade-during the holidays, are the parades that come down main st 1-2 time/day at the MK holiday themed during this time, or can you only see a holiday parade during the MCP?
thanks

From what I have read is that during the MMVMCP, the Christmas party runs 2 times. After the MMVMCP is over, then the normal parade becomes the one shown at MMVMCP. I am not 100% sure, but maybe someone else can help out.

I thought I read on mousesavers or Deb's that the christmas parade was THE parade during the time MVMCP was active through jan 1 or 2. There was a mention that they filmed REGIS early in the season for "LIVE" broadcast on Christmas morning. pirate:

They show the regular afternoon parade, share a dream come true, every afternoon until the Christmas Parties are over. Once the parties are done , which is right before Christmas, then they show the Christmas parade in the afternoon. If you are MVMCP, they show the Christmas parade twice on those nights.

We went 2 years ago to our first Christmas party. My kids were 9, 7 & 1. They had an amazing time. Its the only time you can see snow on Main Street too. Its beautiful. There are also special fireworks that night, and Tinkerbell flying from the castle is replaced by Rudolph to start the fireworks! We dont go to the parks on the day of the party. This year, we are going to take advantage of the Dolphins pool & beach. Maybe even hit Downtown Disney first thing in the morning. I dont know how old your kids are Sharonb, but if you relax all day, I bet your kids will make it thru most of the party. It really is a great time! We might even do it twice on our upcoming Thanksgiving trip. I think you should try it! Especially since this is your first family vacation. Its really something special you cant do all the time!

Thanks for your thoughts, Amy M (and others too). I would love to go, as I love christmas, but we are only there Wed-Sun (and leaving sunday), so I worry it may be too much for them when trying to cram in as much as possible in a short time and not overwhelm everyone (esp my DH who has been grumpy about this trip.) I am hoping some of the "disney magic" will change his mind!
thanks-this is such a helpful listserve!
