I just found out the the Christmas Parade is going to be taped Nov 30 & Dec 1. I thought earlier I read somewhere that it was going to be the following week. Guess I was wrong.

We'll be there at that time and I was wondering if we should avoid the MK on those days.

Does anyone have any experience with the tapeing days?

The taping is always the 1st weekend of December.

If you are sold on going to MK on either of those days, avoid Main Street and the castle area like the plague as those areas will be packed to the gills. It is for this reason that I opted to avoid MK for those days.

It's not bad on Friday or Sunday but Saturday can be a zoo due to typical Saturday crowds and due to the float taping.

I have always avoided MK on taping days. A few times I have had to be there for one reson or another, and I always reaffirm my desire for not being there if possible.

It's sounding more and more that there isn't really anything planned for Sunday (Dec 2). Is that date only mentioned in case they haven't been able to film everything on Friday and Saturday? (then they use Sunday?)

Anyone have experience with them still filming on the 3rd day? (Sunday)

Yes, for the most part, Sunday is for whatever they couldn't/didn't get to but is usually pretty light in crowds.

I've been on that Sunday and nothing was going on with typical Sunday crowds AND I've been on that Sunday because we were trapped in Florida due to a blizzard in NE so Regis and Kelly couldn't get there till Sunday so the float taping was that Sunday and yes, it was a zoo!

I'll plan for Sunday (1st Choice) and Friday (2nd Choice) and then make the decision when we arrive on Wednesday of that week. (I'll check weather, etc)

I have a question about the Christmas partys. I'm going to MVMCP on 11/30, which looks like one of the days of taping. I had planned to arrive at the MK about 4 p.m. that day to do some rides and things before the actual party. Will it still be crowded? Any advice would be appreciated!

No, Friday is just the celebrity taping in front of the castle and it really doesn't affect the crowd level that day at all. They will be done by early afternoon.

I got res. thru the AP site for the celeb preformances in front of the castle on Friday 30. I also went on lightship to ask to be in the audience for the parade portion, they just e-mailed me back with a conf. voucher saying that I was in for the parade on Fri 30? I thought that the parade taping was on Sat. Now I don't know what to do. I have two kids (7 11) and I don't know what would be better for them. And there still isn't an official list of celebs who would be at the castle stage. HELP The kids are very excited about this and they know it will be long and tedious. Also from lightship, as stated in this thread, they do let up to 5 people in to MK for free and they can stay after the taping just with no passes for FP. Help me, someone, PLEASE...

I sent Lightship Entertainment an e-mail early last week and haven't received a response. We are leaving for WDW next week.
