Christmas Parade Taping FAQ : Crowds / Dates / Etc

Sounds like we might get a chance to see something then. We have to be in Epcot by 1 or so on Friday, but I guess we'll head to MK earlier in the day and try to catch some of the taping of the stage shows.

With the filming being reported to take place Fri, Sat, and Sun? Which date is best to hit the MK of those 3 days. I would assume Saturday (1st) is the worst day for crowds.

Is Sunday (2nd) the best date? Are they done filming everything by Sunday? Or are they still filming?

Thank you in advance!

I believe CM's will have a strategie on getting people around as organized as possible, I would give myself at least 15 more min. just in case. You wouldn't want to be late for a date with the princesses:laughing: ,princess: Enjoy your breakfast.

We have a BBB apt for DD at 8:30 princess: WIll they let DH and DS in early too? I was hoping for some shots of kids in front of near empty castle. Will the parade interfer with that?

If you're referring to 8:30am, yes the parade will DEFINITELY interrupt any basic plans involving the front of the castle area.. I would think... others with more experience can hopefully answer this one too!

Does any one know the dates that they will be taping the parade. Lasy yr we went the night after and the tree on Main Street and some of the garland wasn't up. We went back a second time and with all the decorations on Main Street made much better Holiday pictures. Was hoping this yr. I picked a night a few days after the taping

The performances will tape Nov. 30 on the castle stage from 8am until aprox noon. The parade will tape Dec. 1. No idea how to get into the roped area for the parade. I went to MK this past weekend and asked, I was told they didn't have that info yet but to check back a week or so before the taping. If I get any new info I'll post it here.:santa:

We have reservations at Cinderella's Castle for DGD's 3rd birday, the morning of Nov. 30th!:goodvibes

I'm so excited because DGD will be in her princess outfit! Do you think we stand a chance of getting her on national television???? I honestly did not know about the taping of the Christmas show when I booked this for her birthday!

I was at MK last year during the taping - did not realize it at the time of entry. Main Street was so crowded, the guests were redirected through back lots - not pretty - and dumped into Tomorrow Land. It was so packed we last less than 2 hours before we pushed our way out of the park. We ended up going to MGM and it was great - saw Osbourne Lights and crowds were light. We are going again this year during the taping and I am rearranging plans to avoid MK during the taping which I believe is on the 1st. Have fun!

I also scored early this morning with an "event registration" for Friday, Nov 30th. The paperwork says Regis and Kelly will not be taping on this day, but on Saturday, Dec 1st.

But not sure whether I have secured a place for the parade taping or the Castle taping. Either way, I will be there at 8AM with bells on, providing Disney Bus transportation does not let me down!

27 Days and Counting!!!!!!!!
Nov 30 is the day for acts taping in front of the Castle. The buses will get you there on-time. I was prepared to have to get a cab, but the buses were up and running very early.

we were there the same day and time... I don't think we made it 3 hours though... I can still hear the Brian Setzer singing "Jingle Bells" jingle jingle jingle over and over and over:rolleyes1 never again
Me too!!! I couldn't get that tune out of my head for months...now, you've got it back in there!!!:lmao:

Does anyone know if they have chairs in front of the castle stage or do people just sit on the floor while waiting. Anyone that has done this please give us all the info. Just came back from MK and went to Guest Services and they said that there's no definite list on who's coming. They told me to check back a week before to make sure.
No seats...you have to stand. That's why my poor old body didn't make it to noon...had to get out of there by 11:15. My back was killing me. All those people, standing there, trying to jockey for a better, closer position. I actually overhead one mother say to a gentleman that she really should be able to move up closer because she had kids with her, and he didn't!!! Yep, very nice, holiday atmosphere.

Does anyone have any info on getting the passes for the taping yet?

TIA
I believe they are gone at this point. I found the registration on the AP site. The DVC group may also have had it offered...don't remember because I wasn't looking for it. The parade day goes really fast, within hours. Friday's taping spots take a day or so to get spoken for.

Just came back from Magic Kingdom. Christmas decorations are up, the tree is next to the entrance to tomorrowland. Went back to guest services to ask for the celebrities that will be performing on friday. A nice cast member tried finding info for a while with different dept. He went "backstage" when he came back he told me that he couldn't give me that info, and that it wouldn't become available. I was asking b-cause I have to kids that would miss a day of school and I don't want them to end up doing it for somebody they don't like. I've already seen the list of celebs that are posted on other site, is there anybody that has better info on this. I'm torn, I already got the res. from the AP site but I don't know what to do. The kids would love to see HSM or the Jonas Brothers or something like that.:headache:

Christmas Parade Taping:

I just got through reading that the taping is on November 30 and December 1. December 1 affects us because that's when we're visiting Magic Kingdom and dining at the Crystal Palace.

I checked the park hours for Magic Kingdom on December 1 and they'll be open until midnight, so now I'm thinking to go to the park around three o'clock and stay late.

Does anyone know the approximate hours of the taping?

Can't wait, we're so excited!:santa:

I've read this whole thread and am somewhat worried now..........We arrive on the 29th (thankfully) and should have half a day at Magic Kingdom, which is where DD will want to go first.

My concern is that it may also be the park of choice for Friday and Saturday......and I don't want to be dealing with those crowds. Just getting through Main Street sounds like it could take looooooooong, and pushing a double stroller through the stores, does not sound like much fun.

Can anybody recommend a day that would be less crowded? Either Friday or Saturday? And do we have to wake the kids up early those days to even get in???

I know some of you are excited, but I am not about this!

Saturday is by far the worst day to choose as it's a Saturday and traditionally they are crowded AND then you also have to deal with the parade taping.

Friday would be just a typical Friday crowd and then they'll be taping right in front of the castle. It shouldn't affect you at all really.

So I'd choose Friday over Saturday.

I'm arriving the same day! This is what I'm planning to do if Main Street in the MK is crowded-go upstairs to the train, take the Railroad to Frontierland, and get off there. Anyone know why that may not work? Right now, I'm thinking that'll be a good plan.

Just thinking:confused: Do you think that the writers strike will have any impact on the taping of this?
