Christmas Parade Taping FAQ : Crowds / Dates / Etc

No worries... you'll be in.. BUT you might want to be a little early... we'll be there Friday and Sat. for the early sessions.

just a note they tend to move regis and kelly around. they used to be up by the crystal palace but that was when the tree was on mainstreet. Last year they moved the tree to where it is now until after the parade and put them by the flagpole. I have a feeling they may be doing the same thing this year that way they can film them chatting as the parade is coming down mainstreet.

I "reserved" a spot in the audience section for DVC members for Friday's taping. This is our first attempt at this. The DVC website said we should check-in by 11:30AM, but does not really spell out if we are guarranteed to be in the audience. Has anyone done this before and does the "reservation" guarantee us a spot as long as we are there by 11 AM?

Friday's taping will begin first thing in the morning. I was at that early taping a few years ago. We were told to plan on being there until 11:30. That's when the new folks were supposed to arrive. I don't know what happened at 11:30 since I had to take off just before 11..my back/legs/knees were throbbing with pain by that point. I had been standing in the same exact spot since 7:45 that morning. But, I would imagine that you will be told to go to a particular area, probably in front of the Castle at the time you arrive.

dfsc and yulilin3-If either of you have extra vouchers for Friday that you can't use, I'd love to put them to good use! We'll be in the park trying to see what we can see anyway, but I didn't find out about the vouchers until Nov. 2, and they were already gone. We are AP holders. Thanks.

Just wondering if any of you have actually seen yourselves on tv if you have stood there with the early crowd at the castle. Last year my ds went to be part of the crowd around lunch time. I guess it was after the original crowd was leaving. It was not their intent to get filmed etc. They just wanted to get up close to see Beyonce and I think this was earlier in the week because the idols were on friday? I cant remember because we went 2 years in a row. But when the ds watched it on tv they swear it was a whole different crowd on the tv, the lst crowd? Just wondering? They said they saw some camera guy taking a picture of a guy next to them, saying you will be on tv etc? They never saw that guy, guessing editing out etc? We will be at the mk thurs and fri next week so it will be interesting to see what happens. They were also filming some country star one night last year or 2 years ago before MVMCP for a cable country station. I asked a man by me and he said he had heard of her before. I told the ds maybe whitney houston would be there. I wont type their answer about that one. I said what!! I think it is something they said they heard on a tv show. I also said maybe josh groban and they said josh who?? O.K. I will update once we get back. My ds did manage to get some good pictures last year considering where he was standing so we will see what happens this time.

I have hesitated to post this because I don't want to be swarmed... but against my better judgement.... a friend of mine was supposed to go to both days of taping. She now can't so hers are pretty much up for grabs.. she is unable to use them and said to find someone to take her spots... gulp... PM me..

i'm assuming you mean that the xmas parade will have a regular "for the park guests" run at 5pm sans regis and kelly taping?

thanks for the info! i was planning on braving the main street crowds to take pics of the xmas parade as they film, but now it look like i don't have to. more time for rides!

question...will the Jonas Brothers only be there early, early before the park opens or will they be there after opening? I know this is a weird question but last year we were there for the taping and some of the performers were finished before the park ever opened. Also, does anyone feel that there is not as much going on this year compared to last year? Last year the Doodlebops, Handy Mandy, Little Einsteins, HMS stars, Ashley Tisdale, Monique, Corbin Blue and Lucas Graybel were all there plus lots of HS bands from all over. Plus, Andrea Bocceli was there and performed live, acapela and was AMAZING. If I mis-spelled things, sorry. Whats up with this? Anyone know if there is more going on? Thanks, Becky

I know what you mean, I've had the AP for years know but had hesitated in taking the kids to the tapings because of the age. Now that I'm going, there isn't allot to see. My kids love the Jonas Brothers but we have a voucher from lightship to go for the 2nd group at 11:30am. I'm also worried that they would be done with them. I'm planning on getting there earlier and see if I can go in before the time. It seems that the mayority of big acts were at DL (for the kids HSM and for the adults Josh Groban) Who really wants to see Jessica Simpson, on the same day that her ex brother in-law is there?

Because I am stupid I'll ask... since I have no ticket to see the taping does that mean if I do tomorrow at opening I won't be able to see the parade at all? or be able to take pictures or anything? I am thinking I'll just got late and go just for the 5pm Christmas Parade instead?

Oh no! A local DISer is reporting that there is an ice storm today and that the parade taping (thus the parade) has been canceled!!

Where? Here in Orlando? I'm standing outside my house, and it's 20min away from Disney and it's about 74.
I'm the first person to want an ice storm here, it's been muggy all week, and yesterday was a foggy, dreary day.

I thought you meant the ice storm that hit CInderella's castle about two weeks ago I would love at least temp below 75. Then it would feel like December. Anywho, I'm headding right now to the taping, got my vouchers for 11:30am. Not expecting anything great, just not to be dissapointed. I'll post how it went tomorrow. Merry Christmas fro Magic Kingdom
