christmas parade taped for ABC

When is the ABC Christmas parade scheduled to be filmed? Also when do they start running the parade from the MVMCP during regular operating hours? Is it the week before Christmas? We will be there the 13th through the 22nd and would probably want to avoid the taping of the parade.

We were there last year Dec. 2 thru the 8th and I beleive they were taping the Christmas parade that weekend. We avoided the MK because of that. I wonder if a lot of people do that because we went to MK on Monday thinking everyone would want to be there for the taping and it was PACKED! We ended up leaving and going back on Tuesday and it was much better, hardly waited for any ride. Remember a crowded day at Disney is better than a not so crowded day at work!

From what I'm hearing the taping is going to be on the sat. 12/3.

Another boards site had a website link to some band or something that will be marching in that particular parade and on their schedule it said that that day is the television taping of the parade.

Makes sense because Disney changed the hours and now has that park open till 11pm!!

We were there last year and they taped the parade the first Saturday in December. It was VERY crowded with people participating in the taping. However, if you are not interested in the parade, you can do what we did: ride the train to the back of the park and get on the rides! Once you get beyond the mobs of people on Main Street, the ride lines are not long at all.

To answer your other question, the Very Merry Christmas Parade is exclusive to the MVMCP. For that reason the first day that it will be presented in the park during regular operating hours in December 21 at 3pm (so you will just make it seeing you are leaving on the 22nd). Here are the times for other that are interested...

The Christmas Parade will replace Share a Dream Come True Starting on December 21.

December 21, 22, 23 it will be at 3pm
December 24-December 31st is will be at 12:30 and 3:30pm

From my experience it has always been first weekend of December you know as soon as you are past the train station and their are people everywhere!!! You see the cameras on their little cranes etc. We did the same thing went to the back of the park and it worked out great we just avoided that parade day

t is usually aired on ABC Christmas morning. In past it has been at 10am.

Thanks!! Hopefully it will show up on the Tivo so I can record it. We'll be at WDW on xmas day but it would be very cool to see.
