Christmas parade advice

We are going at the start of the Xmas season-November 10-13. On the calendar it said the Christmas parade will run 2x, 1 and 3:30. We leave on the Monday, so need to do it on Fri, Sat or Sunday all of which I expect to be pretty packed.

My problem is that I'm not willing to sit for hours for a spot. I'm fine being second row back or an awkward angle so long as my kids can see. I'm ok looking for a spot about 30 min prior and having a snack while waiting. There are 5 of us and a small umbrella stroller. I was thinking maybe by it's a small world? Any advice on areas that fill up later? TIA. I'd totally pay for a meal that included parade seating but don't see that available. The tours are too pricey for 5 people and my kids are too little to go on a tour.

Go over by the fire department about 30 minutes before the parade and hang out. They don't put the ropes up there until shortly before the parade starts. Be aware that the spot where it looks like the rope will connect (based on where the ropes end in front of the bathrooms and Emporium) is actually going to turn into the BACK rope. The front rope isn't very "guessable" unless you've seen it before.

Sometimes people who know where the rope is going will form an unofficial "line," so if they start that, just kinda grab a spot along there.

I was looking at the wrong dates. Makes more sense now.. lol I'm bummed that they are not having the second parade at night....

Chipping in my 2 cents worth - we got an awesome spot last year by Small World and only waited about 30 minutes. We were sitting on the planter. Some very nice girls invited my daughter to sit with them at the front so she could be upfront and center, as well, but she could have seen just fine from the planter.
