Christmas/Holiday 2011 on the Wonder: 8 night Mexican Riviera 12/18/2011

Hi All,

We got home last night safe and sound... back to cold, dark and rain. :) We came home, had the boys put on their Christmas PJ's and opened our presents under the tree.... so had our "2nd" Christmas. :)

We had a *wonderful* cruise in every aspect! I hope all of you also had a wonderful trip.

It was so great to meet all of the people we did get to meet! You all are a really nice bunch of people. Maybe we'll see some of you on future cruises... we'll see what ends up happening with the Wonder Dec 2012 now that several of us got bumped off of our Wonder 2012 Christmas cruise next year (but at least all of us got an additional on board credit to apply to the cruise we do rebook to.)

Thanks, also, for the really great FE gifts to those in Group #2. We really enjoyed the gift exchange thoroughly. :)

Have a happy New Year (almost) everyone!

Take care,
Kathy

Thank you everyone who made this cruise so much fun. Mary-Grace and I awoke this morning hoping to see water views through our port hole, but instead were greeted with views of our backyard. To make us feel better I booked a return trip to Mexico on the Wonder for Presidents Week this Feb.19. 53 days and counting! Anyone want to join us?

We had the time of our lives!!! Thank you all for helping make it so special...learned so much from all of you!

Well, my husband is apparently on a mission to make ALL of my dreams come true...

With the help of his brother, I walked into my home to see a 9-week-old fawn boxer puppy in my living room!!!! He surprised all of us and I am still blown away. She is the cutest little puppy EVER....we named her Laila (after Muhammed Ali's daughter). :lovestruc

Anyway, just wanted to check in and say HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

P.S. Dianne - your post made me laugh out loud!! Also, I loved out little conversations in the hallways, laundry room, etc. and, your sons are darling. You are a great mom!

Thank you I loved our little conversations too. Today I am suffering the post Christmas/Cruise blues. I sure could use a hallway talk. Brendan has already cried 3 times because he wants to be back on the ship. Poor guy I know how he feels,

Unfortunately James caught a cold on board and with his asthma he get really sick. He has spent the last 2 days in bed, with a humidifier blowing at his face. Brendan is bored with no one to play with. I have unpacked everything but I'm still working on laundry.

Any time I am near the ocean my pain level is much more tolerable so I haven't felt well enough to play with B either. At least tomorrow I am dropping them at a winter day camp so he will be playing all day while I go talk to the doctor about my next steps. It was decided before the cruise that the chemo is not doing anything to the cancer and we might need to find another form of treatment. I am hoping to get accepted to a clinical trial for the cancer smart bomb. Keep your fingers crossed.

I started writing a trip report but I suck at remembering what we ate so it won't be a good one for people that are looking for food porn. I read SanDeeKath's day by day TR hers was really good.

Well back to the real world,

Dianne

Fingers crossed and prayers said. I am thinking wonderful thoughts for you and sending love your way. Blessings, blessings, and more blessings.

Hi everyone! We're missing the ship too. I came home to a clean house, but then we had Christmas Explosion with all the gifts from the grandparents, relatives etc... hey where's my room steward to tidy up?!! All caught up on laundry though. Finally. We had 7 bags in all to unpack. Not flying= overpacking! :rotfl2: We had a great time meeting everyone and the trip was awesome. Loved it, loved it.

We're sad that our next year's MR holiday cruise was canceled, and so are trying to figure out some next steps there. Paul, I'm currently working on getting some names to write to. I've gotten a big fat nowhere with the "supervisor" at DCL who called me today- my source tells me she's not even a supervisor! Grrr. Anyway, the Christmas on the ship was so wonderful we'd love to do it again!

Wow..what a cruise..my head was still feeling the rolling of the ship even thought I was on land lol, but never had sea sickness.hmmm...My kids cannot stop talking about the trip. My biggest critic my DS13 had so much fun and wants me to book the Alaska trip for next year(we will be in Hawaii in June lol).

For being my first Cruise ever we had a blast. Being involved in this forum which led to the FE's and Secret Mickey exchange kept us busy and we enjoyed it(we are still enjoying our goodies. Our entire family came over on Tuesday to see all the gifts we received, I think I have new recruits for the future) .Please keep in touch..I hope to run into you in the future..Dianne we were destined to keep in touch lol...

I actually had to return to work on Tuesday..Darn my cell phone for receiving texts and email from work..I guess thats part of my job..Im fighting a sinus cold right now, dont know if its from being on the ship or from playing Mrs Santa for two weeks prior to cruise..I should have continued taking my Airborne tablets..darn...

May you all have a Happy and Safe New Year..Until we meet again...xoxoxo
Now back to the laundry:laundy::

Alis I have told the story of how we "met" everyone thinks it hysterical especially the hotel part. I am lucky I didn't have to come back to work ugh so sorry. The kids don't go back to school until next week. I hope your head starts to feel better soon. I think that there was something going around and think about all the dirty hand touching everything.

Have a great New Year.

I am sick too. Took thevday off work to stay in bed and recoup. Achoooo.

Kids went to Legoland yesterday with a family we met on our last cruise! Funny how it all works out...

Hi All, Thank you for the great FE gifts. The kids really enjoyed finding the bag stuffed nearly every day. We listened to our CD today, very nice.

What did they do to Christmas 2012? I have not been on the boards. You can join us in Galveston.

Hi Jill,

Here's a link to the cancellation info...

http://www.wdwinfo.com/news/disney-...ls_December_2012_Mexican_Riviera_sailings.htm

Several of us were booked on these and so far this is all DCL is offering. We are lobbying for priority booking when they put out the new schedule, but they are standing firm for now. So much for our plans for next Christmas. :confused3
