Who saw the Christmas golf cart parade tonight?! Wow, that was some kind of awesome!!!

We saw it! Were walking around camp checking out site decorations and, wow!, what a surprise! And it kept going and going! Well done!!

We talked to them while they partied near the hook-up and unhook lanes after the parade. It is a group of families from the Lighthouse Christian School in Pompano Beach Florida. They come the first week in December every year and stay in the cabins. This year there are 80 families.

The parade is always on the Saturday night - so mark your calendars for next year!

I've been trying to figure out how to share them but can't get my Flickr app to give me a URL. They're set to public, my Flickr name is tadpolesandkangaroos

skaferret, I'm not a flickr user (I use photobucket) but I searched the flickr help and found this:

http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=content&y=PROD_FLICKR&locale=en_US&id=SLN15714

Here is a paste of it:

Get the URL of a photo

To use the URL of a photo (like when you add a photo to your Blogger profile), you must provide the web address (URL) of the image itself, not the address of the web page where the image is displayed.

Here's an example of a correct URL for a photo. Note the .jpg at the end:

Here's an example of an incorrect URL for a photo. It points to the web page where the image is displayed, not the image file itself. Notice there's no .jpg at the end.

(Click both of these links to see the difference.)

You can get the URL of your own images on Flickr. To do this just click "Actions" and "View all sizes." You can then right-click to get the URL of the photo.

Note: Per our Terms of Use, whenever you place an image you're storing on Flickr on an external web site, you must also include a link back to Flickr.

If you're using a mobile app for the site, the instructions may not be identical but the intent may be. Hope it helps.

We saw it also. Can't believe the detail and scale of the work put into decorating those carts. The lady in charge said there were 115 carts in it. We're in 1405 and went to the 1600 loop to watch it. I will see if my wife can figure out how to post photos. I will show her Bama Ed's post. The kids really enjoyed it!

Spanish Fort? Hey I know where that is. The Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay is beautiful.

115 Carts is an awesome number. Staging it alone must be heck and then with the decorations it sounds comparable to the other golf cart parades the Fort has on Halloween and 4th of July.

That's a nice thing the parents of those school kids in Pompano do. Those are memories they'll carry with them forever. And those of you at the Fort who saw it are fortunate to have seen it.

That's the kind of origanizational spirit that brings joy to a whole lot of folks. Wow, I'm going to have to come down for early December someday.

Yeah we love the Eastern Shore, we moved here from North Mobile County in 2001. The lady that organized the parade and kept them going down the correct loops was not an employee of Disney. She told us she has more families coming in Thursday and she is trying to get one organized for next Saturday night. On a side note when we checked in Saturday morning none of the cast members knew anything about the parade. They said it wasn't a Disney organized event and no one seemed to be able to give us information about it. We just happened to be at the right place at the right time to see it.

Good ol' Spanish Fort. Always stop at the Bass Pro on the way to Gulf Shores each year.
Great things with those kids. Hopefully we can see some pics to evaluate them for ourselves.

Well....posting pics from an iPhone is a little too complicated for us. I have a couple videos of the parade to share as well but my wife and I can't seem to figure it out. We'll try to get these posted when we get home. We hope to see the parade again next year. It has definitely been one of the highlights of our trip!

That's awesome of that group to do that. :) I would love to see it too as it's never taken place while I have been there. Those golf carts are not cheap to rent either.

Maybe if your willing to send your pictures or video to one of the members here that are techy they would be willing to post them for you?

Moderator- We have an area on this website for those that create Dis art for us, maybe we need a techy forum. Wish I was one of those people....

What time did you see the parade? I'm going this Saturday to see the decorations and will be on the look out for an encore parade.

Watched that GREAT cart parade Saturday. Just happened to be at end of 400 loop. No camera, so no pics . Would love to have a few to show to family who missed it. Huge and bright cart decor. Really so much more than lights. Also just a remark about site decor. Definitely not like past years, but last night better than when we first arrived. Enjoying it all. Disney magic is everywhere . Will check back next Sunday for pics? Maybe someone will post. Thanks. pixiedust:
