I understand the Christmas Day Parade shown on tv is actually taped another day, Does anyone know what day? We are planing a December trip next year.

I believe it was early dec 6-12 . We would of actually of been there this year, but we canceled.

Have you every been to disney in early december.....just wondering what the crowds are typically like and if they tape this parade in early dec, is it really crowded that day or is it not well advertised? Do you know if any of the parade today was live or was all of it taped?
Any info would be appreciated
Thanks Deb

It's usually taped the first weekend in December. Word gets out on the internet and MK is usually crowded that day. The rest of the week is usually low crowds, we were there Dec 6 to 12.

Thanks to everyone, got the answer further down the board, it was taped Dec. 5,6 & 7

The earliest we have been to WDW in Dec is the 12th. The first week we were there, it wasn't too bad. The 19th or 20th it started to pick up - then the 25th was a mad house. We stayed at Magic Kingdom all Christmas Day. We knew it was going to be busy, but we still enjoyed it. We will be back next year in Dec.
Halloween and Christmas is my two favorite times at WDW. I think I would pick Christmas first these days.

Merry Christmas

Here are two pictures I took from the television from the spot we were in on Today's parade with Robin Roberts... this was filmed on the afternoon of the 6th on Main Street. We have yellow dots above our heads, all you can see of my fiance' is his head...lol! We had fun, but it was CROWDED and people can be very rude! My suggestion is get there early and be prepared to stand in same spot for a long time, (bring drinks, etc). Have fun....I'm sure someone will post the date when it gets closer to time again. Merry Christmas Everyone!
