Christmas Day dining at the World

Hi! We are going to Florida for Christmas/New Year - we've been 3 times at Easter since 2001 - and would like to have a special meal on Christmas Day.. we are not sure if regular hours etc operate, and whether, culturally, Americans put much store on Christmas Dinner, so will availability etc be affected? Any thoughts from any of you who have been at Christmas's past? Any suggestions for venues with a special feel at the holiday period?

I have always thought that Liberty Tree Tavern would be the perfect WDW place to have Christmas Dinner. I have read good reports about Christmas Dinner there in the past. I have eaten there often (just not on a holiday) and you will find traditional Christmas foods like turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, ham, green beans, salad, rolls, etc..The atmosphere is very warm and homey.

First, welcome to The Dis! Yes, culturally Christian Americans place importance on a Christmas meal. We plan on getting the Candlelight Processional dinner package at Epcot for Christmas Eve. We will probably eat at Le Cellier and then go to the 8:15 Candlelight Processional. On Christmas Day we will probably eat at California Grill. Here is a quote from wdwig.com:

Mousketeer, we plan to do the exact same thing on Christmas Eve. See you there!

For Christmas Day, we traditionally have a big breakfast at my parents house so we are going to try to continue this by having a late braekfast at either Cindys(doubtful) or Chef Mickeys. Since we wont be very hungry later on, we figure we wont want another full meal. Im thinking of getting burgers at Beaches & Cream later in the day...and I want to surprise the kids with the Kitchen Sink.

Beverage not included.
Prices do not include tax.

What does the dinner include.....appetizers, entrees and desserts?

This past Christmas we did the Candlelight Processional on Christmas Eve, eating at LeCellier before. I wanted to see it in the dark, but we should have eaten afterwards because it poured and was cancelled. So even though we had this wonderful meal, we missed CP.
Christmas Day was wonderful. We went to the Magic Kingdom, knowing it would be crowded and going with the flow. We ate at Liberty Tree Tavern after the Christmas Parade. It was a magical day.
We will always remember this Christmas....mostly because of the rain and running through it to the Swan! Then we always say "yes, but Christmas day was really special!"

babyblues68: Last year for the Candlelight Processional Dinner package we each got an appetizer, entree, and dessert. I don't remember being charged for our soft drinks and ice tea, but my husband signed for it. It was fabulous.

I just booked a hot air balloon ride with Orange Blossom Balloons for Christmas morning!!!! This is going to be the best Christmas ever.

A hot air balloon ride...oh what a great idea. One more thing to add to a Disney trip. Just hope DH think so too.

Thanks so much for mentioning the balloon ride. We're going the 1 week in Dec. DH and I just went thru the site. We're going to do it. I'm so excited. I've never done anything like that before.

Im not sure what the times are but we will probably try for earlier if we can get it. We have 2 young kids and want to be up for EE at MK on Christmas Morning.
Heres some no rain Pixie Dust...for that whole week!!!

DS's is the 18th, we arrive on the 20th, then mine is the 28th. DH forgot about it last year so thats why Im getting a trip this year. He thinks hes getting off easy...I think Im smart.
