Christmas cruise 2010

Tess,

Also, love the idea of a door decorating contest. I'm up for that too.

I would love to do a B2B but it will be just this cruise for us as my kiddos will be back in school. :sad2:

Hi again!!:thumbsup2

I believe Micrapip has already started to organise a FE and SS on our behalf - although none of us have really been posting for a few months - I guess our cruise is so far away no one is really planning too much yet!!:goodvibes

Like the idea of a door decoration competition - although I am useless at that sort of thing!!!:lmao:

(BTW - it will be me, DH Steve, and our two boys - Kai who will be 6 when we cruise and Lucas who will be 3!!!):santa:

Oh, I'm sorry!!! I didn't realize someone had already started something. I'll go back and read the posts and send my info to that person. Guess I'm just tooo excited to cruise with Mickey again!! Wish it were this Christmas.

Thanks!

Hi all!

We cruised on the Wonder almost 2 weeks ago now and booked onboard for this Christmas 2010 cruise. The price was eye watering for 3 adults in Cat 6 but we're really excited! We enjoyed the FE group on that cruise so will definately be in for one this cruise too. I had to throw our FE away for precious luggage weight (we fly international of course) so will need to make a new one for next year.

Sandra

Hi Sandra!

Glad you will be joining us. I've added you to the FE list that I'm updating on the site. Someone else I hear is actually going to be keeping it updated but haven't heard from her so will keep that updated to make it easier for her not having to read through all the posts. You said three adults in your group? Will there be any kids? If so, what are their ages?

Our list is growing!! Will definitely be tons of fun to do on a Christmas cruise.

thanks Josie for sorting this out :thumbsup2- I'm glad someone is so keen on getting us all organised!! - I am useless at that sort of thing, but am really excited about being part of it all - so many thanks!!

And also a warm welcome to Sandra too!!:)

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

No kids, just myself and my two parents (I live abroad so it's a neat way of catching up with them). However, we can pass on the 10% discount for another cabin (some sort of family & friends promotion that was offered on our cruise, we were given a discount code) so we will see if any other family members wish to book a cabin too.

Christmas is my favourite time of the year, we will have to look into purchasing a small tree to be delivered to the ship for the cabin :)

Oh, I'm so jealous. I would love to live that way!! So many places to see so little time! Hey if you do find a place that will deliver a little tree, please share as I would love to have that for my kiddos too!

Thanks,
Josie

Sorry, but my husband and I will no longer be going on this cruise. We were able to book the PC repo. Because it is so close after this one, we had to cancel (we can't take that much time off). But, I hope you all have a great cruise!

Hi all

Due to issues around getting leave at that time of year, we have switched to the Panama Canal cruise in January 2011 so unfortunately will not be cruising at Christmas - hope everyone has a fabulous time!

oh thats a real shame - but enjoy you Panama Canal cruise!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Has anyone else dropped out??? - Just thinking this thread has gone very quiet lately, or is everyone just too busy with life at the moment??!!;)

I'm still in... Just been working away and getting ready for the big reveal!!

I Usually give a "Family" gift at xmas (last year was PlayStation 3) so this year I'm going so say "sorry but this years family gift is still in the mail... I must have ordered it too late to get here for xmas." hehehe

The postman (a friend of mine) will be dressed in his uniform after all of the other presents are opened, he will ring the doorbell and have a santa sack on his back. Inside the sack will be a whole bunch of disney related stuff I just ordered off ShopDisney.com
And then the big reveal!!!

I'm crazy I know but it's Disney!!!

On the day we sail my DD1 will be 11 then on the 24th she turns 12... I'm sure they'll get along...

That's how I got around paying full price for herhehehe:rotfl:

Hi everybody!

My name is Shannon and along with my husband, Rick, we have 3 children: DD17, DS14, DD6:cutie: We will be cruising on this date as well. We were originally booked on the Halloween cruise of 2010, but school constraints in Texas forced us to bow out and rebook for Christmas.

This will be our 3rd Disney cruise and SECOND Christmas cruise. We sailed the Christmas cruise of 2008 and loved it!!! DCL made it so magical and the decorations were fantastic. We also went to WDW for 3 days following the cruise and although the parks were beautiful, we have decided to go to the parks BEFORE the cruise this time. It's too much chaos to battle the parks following a peaceful Christmas cruise.:lmao:

The Christmas cruise of 2008 had two stops at Castaway Cay which made it all the more wonderful to be away from home for the holidays. This one only has one stop, unfortunately.:sad1: Our last DIS group did an ornament exchange, a secret santa gift exchange, FE gifts, and a dolphin excursion together in Cozumel. This time around, we may opt to participate in only one or two things because it became VERY overwhelming, expensive, and too much time taken away from "family" activities. We decorated the doors with Christmas wreathes, jingle bells in the rooms, and we brought a small Christmas tree with lights that we put in the corner of the desk.

We told our DD5:cutie: that Santa left her presents under the tree at home and she was fine with that. We got the kids all Disney gift cards for Christmas morning that they could use on the ship and in the parks.

I hope to taking to you all quite a bit over the next year, and let me tell you...it goes by fast and will be here before we know it!!

Shannon

:santa::welcome: Shannon!!:santa::santa:

Its great to have you aboard, and brilliant to have someone who is a veteran of the Christmas cruise!!:yay::yay:

I, like you, am keen to make our cruise all about family time :grouphug: - but having said that I have never been part of the FE extender, gift exchanges etc of the DIS before, so I am very keen to be involved in those activities!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I would love to hear more about the special Christmas activities the DCL put on for the holidays - did you get to hear Mrs Christmas tell her bedtime story? - I am really hoping that will happen next year, as that is half the reason I booked!:rolleyes1 - how magical!!:santa::santa:
