Christmas cruise 2010

Hi Amy! I would love to participate again in some Christmas activities, but probably only one or two this time around. I was so overwhelmed with ALL the activities last time that parts of the cruise began to feel "rushed".

There were no readings by Mrs. Claus on our particular cruise, but Santa did make an appearance on Christmas morning. The line to see him was HORRENDOUS and took almost 2 hours to get through.:sad1:

The decorations were beautiful, the Christmas dinner and menu was fantastic and lots of "Christmas Cheer" Such as....eggnog, Christmas cookies and fudge, Christmas carolers, Christmas music through the loud speakers, Christmas parties for the kids...and SO MUCH MORE. Special menus, games, parties, etc...

Hi!:thumbsup2

I believe Micrapip is still collating eveyone's names for the FE exchange and secret santa - so you should put your name down fo that!! :santa:- I would also be up for a mini DIS meet if anyone is interested?? - but that is probably all the 'DISing' my DH will want me to do!! (He is very understanding about my DIS obsession, as long as it doesn't impact on family time!!:lmao:)

The Christmas 'Cheer' is exactly what I am looking forward to!!!:yay::yay: Which cruise did you go on - was it a short one on the Wonder or a longer Magic one? (I am really hoping for Ms Claus - but I'm not going to let it ruin it fo me if she isn't there!!;))

We were on the 7 day Western on the Magic with a double stop at Castaway Cay!! Christmas Day was an at sea day so it worked out perfect!

I would love to take part in the fish extender gift exchange and maybe one more activity. It really is fun, but it takes A LOT of time away from "family time" and DH started to get frustrated on the last cruise with all the time I seemed to be spending with "strangers" and neglecting family activities. On the first cruise, I did little with the DIS group and wanted to make up for it on the Christmas Cruise...I maybe went a little overboard:lmao:

We live in the VERY VERY VERY south of Texas (10 minutes from the border of Mexico) and I am a night labor and delivery nurse. So the majority of my posts will be at night since I sleep during the day.;) My DH has been an at home dad to our 3 children for 16 years now and it's WONDERFUL!!

I absolutely LOVE everything Disney and look forward to each and every one of our vacations!! I am an obsessive planner and want all my ducks in a row so if anyone needs any help, let me know.

Well, it's time to get ready to go delivery more babies so everyone have a great night!

Wow...

I can't believe it's less than a month before I get to surpise the family...:cool1:

I've been planning this since Feb of this year and it's been soooo hard not to spill the beans!!

Can Hardly wait!!!

Hi everyone, we are off to Disneyland for Christmas on the 21st, sure hope it warms up out there. It's funny, we are really looking forward to our trip to California, but the 2010 cruise still is a hot topic of discussion in our house.

Belated welcome Shannon, we were getting on the Magic as you got off last year (we did the New Year's cruise). We ended up getting to the port very early and had to wait at the curb while you slow pokes disembarked. ;) A week later we understood how painful it was to leave.

Believe it or not, we got off the ship at a pretty decent time. We headed to WDW after the cruise (BBBIIIGGG mistake...this time we are going to WDW BEFORE the cruise!!), so we were one of the first to get off the ship. I think we are at Port Orleans by 9AM.

I can't believe that it has been a year already since our last cruise. At this this time last year, I was starting my vacation from work and taking care of last minute details. We left on the 18th and the cruise was from 12/20 to 12/27. A year can go by SO FAST;)

I hope everyone is having a great holiday season:santa:

Shannon

We did the exact opposite trip you did. We stayed at Port Orleans for Christmas before the cruise.

Next year we will stay at the Boardwalk or Beach Club starting somewhere around the 19th.

Artie

Hi everyone!!! I can't believe it is already Christmas next week:scared1: Next year on this date we will be leaving for WDW before our cruise so for me, the countdown begins TODAY!!!

I will admit that I was a little sad at first that we had to change our cruising date from Halloween to Christmas, especially since we has already done a Christmas cruise, but the more I think about it, the more excited I get. It REALLY was an awesome cruise and I already have everything I will need!!:lmao: Christmas clothes, decorations, etc...and that makes my husband VERY happy since I spend so much money just GETTING READY for the cruise.

I hope everyone is really enjoying their holiday season...tonight was the first night I have had off in 9 nights so we went Christmas light looking:santa:

Shannon

does anyone happen to know the exact location of the submarine from 20,000 leagues under the sea that is in the lagoon at Castaway Cay? My husband and son tried to locate it on our last cruise, but were unsuccessful.

Shannon

Hi everybody!!! I can't believe how quiet this DIS group is:sad1: We need to get more chatty....we are officially at the ONE YEAR COUNTDOWN:banana:

At this time next year, we will all be boarding the ship!!! We have always gotten to the terminal early in order to enjoy what it has to offer, and whats more...to GET ON THAT SHIP! We like to board early!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season and I hope to hear more from everyone now that the countdown has begun;)

Shannon

We may be comin' along on this cruise. :woohoo: We've done two Christmas cruises on the Magic, first in 2007, and then 2008 with ShannonR. "Hey!" :wave2: Excited to try one on the Wonder!

We're waiting for my MIL to decide if she wants to come along!!! :teeth:

Becky

Hi Becky!!! That would be great if you guys came along on this cruise as well. I know Morgan and Mitchell would be so excited to see Anna and Alex again:yay:

I hope everyone had a great Christmas!! I had to work both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in order to have them off next year for the cruise. You wouldn't believe the number of women who CHOOSE to have their baby on Christmas:santa: We were busy delivering a lot of Santa's little helpers.

Shannon

Happy new year to all. We just arrived home Friday night from Disneyland and various other stops in California (great trip). We have gotten about a foot and a half of snow in the last two days in Nova Scotia. Winter sucks. ;)

Hi Artie,

I'd much rather have 2 feet of snow then skiing in -20c temps like on Saturday... (there's no smilie for cold)

I'm from just outside Toronto... so I feel your pain...

Try to keep warm...

Excited to cruise again to be able to enjoy some Christmas sunshine!
