I think we are going to try to get into MK for NYE. I know it will be a mad house if we do get in, but what the hay! We haven't ever seen 'special' fireworks in the MK, we always end up in Epcot, so it's something I'd like to see. If we can't get into MK, then back to Epcot!

grim pirate:
If I know my Mom we'll hang out at DTD/PI after the show

I'm also thinking we'll see fireworks no matter where on propertry we are at midnight ;)

Good luck with the park that night. Crowds like that just aren't my thing.

We'll go to a park on Sunday most likely. My girls favorite is MGM.

MIL sent our little Disney booklet today, too!
I think I have convinced Dan NO golf on this cruise.
We are thinking NO excursions this time.
Beach in St. Thomas w/ the kids.
Casino/shopping in St. Maarten w/o kids.
Castaway Cay w/ kids, with option for them to join kid's club there, like for Scavenger Hunt. Heard it could be chilly there in Dec., so REALLY want to hit beach in St. Thomas.
Clothes....tanks/tees, shorts/capris for day.
I have 2 black cocktail dresses w/ beading & sequins for formal night (s), and assorted dressy sundresses for the others. Of course, I will have lost so much weight that I will need to go shopping before then!!! :rotfl2:
Dan has navy suit for formal night. Hey does dressy s/s shirts (some tropical) Boys are sticking w/ dressy s/s shirts (several w/ tropical flair, too...a couple matching!) & khakis or dress shorts every night. Hailey has 4 dressy dresses and several sundresses, so she will be the best dressed of the bunch every night!
Tired again, but in a good way. Room is in decent order, starting to think about students & curriculum. Toted home stuff to work on tonight.....the insanity begins! :teacher: NOT so pleased to find out that we have had several students transfer in (not so bad...guess we are up from 228 students to 270!), BUT THREE of our new fifth graders are behavior disordered! GREAT!
We have had 2 fairly peaceful years, and suddenly an INFLUX of BD kids in the whole school! It's like we put an ad in the paper! We do have a reputation of doing well w/ such high-needs students, but they do take up a lot of energy! Luckily I have a terrific team & principal!
Well, gotta go do some work!
Bye!

Nan--still praying for Polly! :goodvibes

I was uploading more pics into my bucket today...

anybody in the mood for a slideshow?

Great pics! I love the one of the sunset (its in between some softball photos). Also, I haven't been to WDW since the Nemo thing, so that was my first peek. :earsgirl:

I never knew there was a talent show onboard the cruise!? Can you believe that!? 3rd time going and I still haven't known! lol...Well sorry I hve been very busy with school just starting and like its all crazy! Well I know I am probably the last one to say this but...WELCOME DEDE!:cool1: Well I have a lot of homework to finish...ugghh!
8th grade is hard work! hehe Well much luv to my fellow disers!

Tig,
About grim pirate: You're right, he IS a great guy. He is kind and caring, and has a wonderful, dry sense of humor. However, he is VERY SHY...with people he doesn't know. The first time he met my family, he sat on the couch all day and didn't say a word. hehe

I was just blown away when he started talking about all of you on this thread. He knew all these things about you and was calling you all by name. Now that he knows you, he won't be shy when you meet him in person. :p

Kris
Welcome back to the school grind. This is my second week with kids and I am already completely worn out! The good news is that all of my classes have been pretty good so far. I feel for ya with all of those BD kids. We are the ED site for our district, so we get them all when they mainstream them out! :earseek:
Being a teacher has become a really difficult job in recent years. I wish there were more great parents (like you guys) in the world to care for and support their kids.

Well, speaking of school...I'm off to plan lessons for the rest of the week!

Bye for now,

Hi Gang,
So much cruise stuff going on...deciding on clothes, excursions, meets, oh I don't know, it's just all starting to take shape.

I have 2 black cocktail dresses w/ beading & sequins for formal night (s), and assorted dressy sundresses for the others. Of course, I will have lost so much weight that I will need to go shopping before then!!!
Kris, you sound just like me! <----------to the left, to the right, move that body, burn that fat :rotfl:

And Kandice, 9 puonds is a cinch in four months!

About the Flemington meet, anywhere to eat is fine with me. It doesn't even have to be exactly in Flemington. You Jersey girls can decide what's best. I'm game for the ride down.

Tori, I wish you a good year in 8th grade. My Jesse starts 8th on Sept. 9th, so you have something in common.

I think our guys are going to get along really well. Chad's going to be the challenge. He'll be 20 in November, not a teen anymore, but not a legal adult. I hope the guys give him some guy time so he won't feel like a kid!
BRB

Chad'll fit right in with us...

I know he will...at least until he finds some 20something girls to hang with instead ;)

I can HEAR you, you know.....

pirate: you crack me up Grim and boy I needed it.

Polly is doing well today. She pooped this morning and really is back to herself, except for the big band of stitches at her hinny and no tail you'd think she was fine. I’m worried nonetheless since the vet cautioned me so strongly about infection. We have a re-check tomorrow at 3pm, I’ll be glad to have her looked at and see if she is ok. I’d even be happy to keep coming back every few days to make sure she is ok. This kind of stuff makes me very nervous. My SIL cousin advised us on cleaning/washing her with hydrogen peroxide cut in half with water. I’m going to see if the vet will show me how to do that tomorrow afternoon.

Other than that, really busy at work, meetings happening offsite…yuck. I try to do my work at home and just fed ex to clients, but sometimes I have to meet with them and vendors like bankers and stuff. Necessary evils. I hate to drive.

School starts next week for us. Finding out now who is in what class, looks like Molly is not with many friends, which is a bummer. Wilson has a good friend in his class, so that is great I get to share room mom*ing* with a good friend, yeah :cool1:

Tomorrow night we go to a minor league game, SJ Giants. It’s hosted by Yahoo, our neighbor works there and gets us tickets, it is pretty fun. The big fun still to happen this weekend. Boardwalk on Friday night, then we are taking Wilson to a Go-kart place on Sunday….should be a blast.

Oh yeah, cruise stuff. I keep getting dresses for Molly, lots of dark green, it looks great with her red hair. Paul has his tux. I need to find one for Wilson soon. Ebay here I come. I’m totally stumped about what to wear for myself. To heavy to enjoy looking for anything, but it will appear I’m sure. I’d like something long and low cut at least I can show some cleavage to make up for the girth….I’m excited about Wilson’s clothes I found a bunch of cruise type wear at the Gap a few months ago. A seersucker blazer, madras pants, I must find him some topsiders. The little fashion plate. I just love that boy. I plan on dressing us up for Xmas eve. Not sure in what. We do also have I think 4 matching family outfits…Disney of course. And another matching dress and shirt for Paul and I, planning to make that our Palo’s attire. No needed tie there right?

Tiggie, I’m totally in on the NYE plan. Let me know how to book or if you will book for us what and when to pay for it. Whatever is easy I’m happy to have a gang to hang with that night.

I have added some stuff to my little giftie for you guys….got stuff in Half Moon Bay for it. Suspense, it’s killing ya huh?

Once the kids are back in school I’ll start to work on my door sign project.

Oh yeah, wanna hear something totally Disney freakey, I know of course you do. I got some undies at Target the other day….Mickey on them…..I cut the price tag and saw that they had a cute picture on it so I must of course keep the tag to SCRAPBOOK. What a freak huh? I knew you’d understand. :rotfl2:

Getting really tired and talked out for the night….see ya tomorrow,

N

Cripes, you guys...I can't keep track of who says what! :rotfl2: I know how you feel some times Kristen!!! Glad your school room is in order.

Nan hope the follow-up visit brings good news.

TIG - 50?? :scared1: Wow - now is that just the DIS families or the whole lot of us? Meaning only 3 out of my 12 are Dispeople!

So far here is what my crew has planned:
I cannot speak for the rest of my family, but Kayla will be dressed EVERY night. Some nights (formal) dressed more than others. Dominick is wearing a black suit (different shirt and tie) for formal, semi-formal and Palo. Unless I cheat and tell our tux place I need one for a show and rent it for $25!!! BUT then I would have to travel with it. Me, not sure about semi-formal, but so far for formal I have a black velvet skirt, gold cowel neck shell and a black beaded jacket. I know I'll be in the tropics, let's just hope I don't get a hot flash. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

12 different people doing 12 different excisions. Ok, not really. I think DM, Kayla and I are doing the butterfly farm. Kayla really wants to; she has this thing about butterflies. I am going is so DM can do her booze shopping!! DM and I are staying on the ship the next port and doing a little PP with a massage and perhaps lunch at Lumière's. Kayla and Dominick will most likely go snorkling with the nieces and nephews. CC Kayla and I want to go parasailing. That is if I get up the nerve to don my bathing suit.

Planning for Palo dinner the third night, brunch and high tea on day five - too much?? Also, planning wine and beer tasting and some of the culinary events. At least one night of champagne and strawberries in the main lobby! Kayla is a whiz at Disney trivia - so we'll be sure to take advantage of that! And as previously mentioned we would like to enter Kayla in the talent show. She has a fabulous voice if I do say so myself!

Am exhausted - went to the ER last night with Kayla. She has had pink eye, but it wasn't getting any better. Then last night she had pain and couldn't close her eyes to go to sleep. She said it was like a grain of sand was caught in her eye. She NEVER complains and I was concerned about a scratch to her cornea, so off we went. Got home around 3:15 and of course, I couldn't sleep! They gave Kayla Tylenol with codeine so she went off to Neverland!! Needless to say I did not go to work today. Which is fine because I have some last minute items to pick up and things to do on the set before we open!!

Just want you all to know, I keep envisioning seeing all of you and a smile comes across my face! It is going to be like traveling with family I never knew I had! Thank you for being a part of my life!!

Karen: I just told Molly (DD) about the horse prom date...just as normal she rolled her eyes at me..oh mom.....I now have to search back to find her the pic. Wish me quick luck in finding that page.

I feel like you do, this group is the next best thing to family, friends...that's the family that you can pick for yourself :goodvibes Sometimes even better than family.

Well we need to go to school for that paperwork day and get actual teacher assignments.

Check back with ya later today.

Hope everyone is having a rocking Hump day, (can you tell I'm watching my Goo-Goo Dolls 4th of July live concert cd)

Nan

oh yeah you're right, I was supposed to be working...it's a bad sign when the pile on your desk (turned into 2 piles) and they are now so high that it makes it hard to reach the keyboard....better work tomorrow all day cuz now I'm getting ready for the baseball game.

Got the kids signed up today for school, got the teachers & classmates. Poor Molly no friends in her class, Wilson has a bunch. Molly also has a 1st year teacher *again* 2nd year in a row. It better be better this year. Last year her teachers sucked (no offense, Kris & Dede, but you know they exsist out there) It really kinda makes me sad because most teachers at our school are great, just a few that don't give it their all and it really shows. I wish I was better at teaching my kids, but that is not a gift for me. Now taking them on vacation(s) that is my gift. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Okay, gotta go get dressed. Have a nice night see ya later.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, vet said Polly looked good. She'll see her again in a week (unless I'm nervous and I can bring her in early to double check her)

Much relief. She is a great rabitt and we love her. Pictures to post shortly, maybe tonight if I'm not too tired when we get home.

Batter up,

Nan

On the scrapping thread someone posted how to get multiple discounts...just got Jack a Captain Hook costume w/ hat & accessories for $35...was $60 (could have saved $10 more if I had a Disney Visa!)
May go try again later for Marcus, too!
Now Hailey wants one...we may have to be more creative for the girls!
Hit the after Halloween sales...
You guys are beginning to rub off on me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Off to get my reality TV fix...Big Bro 6 Tivo from last night!
Bye!

Nan, I'm sure you're at the baseball game already, but here's a retroactive Have a great time! I love going to minor league games. The big games are overwhelming for me. My family loves the Brooklyn Cyclones, who belong to the NY Mets. They were named for the Cyclone rollarcoaster, which, by the way, I took Jesse on for the first time this very day! It's a REALLY scary coaster, on wooden tracks. A trip to NYC requires a ride on the famous Cyclone in Coney Island!! We had to wait a long while before getting on, because there was a director from England (judging by his accent) checking out the ride. I wonder if there's going to be a movie or something being planned.

By the way, I'd love to see a photo of Polly!

Karen, Kayla sounds like a real girly girl! I remember Kayla and "Patch", what a couple they were! And it was the first time I'd ever heard of the name. Very very pretty.

I'm rolling coins, just taking a break for a moment, but back to "work" now.

Hope to see y'all later on!! :wave2:
