Christmas Cruise 2005!!!

I'm trying hard not to read all the meet info yet...give me a final update in early Dec. I'm starting to get into school mode, and my head is full!
Cool about the eye patches! I read a post a gal put up about a cheap, cute homemade costume I may try. May check costumes after Halloween, too.
NAN--double beds, NS is fine (Mom smokes, but she will go outside, no prob)
Aisling--how's curves going? I will say, muscle must weigh more than fat. The scale HAS NOT budged, but got into formerly tight clothes last week; noticed that one of my workout tees that was tight over my tum-tum, is LOOSE, and my Pooh nightshirt, the same thing! I remember avoiding those two items earlier in the summer because they were tight! So I guess it is working! Keep it up. I do feel better, and actually hate to miss Jazzercise now! (It has taken me TWO years to feel that way!)
Well, gotta take van BACK in--$400 on new brakes last week, and yet it is still making the same sound! Luckily we have had this mechanic for years, so I trust him.
Saw 2 more articles on the passport timeline being dropped--on in USA Today, which I figure is as reliable as any! Just makes me feel better about my decision to continue to wait on this one...hopefully for long!
Kris

Nan: See my photos, I got Tigger Too-:teeth: Nice touch!

Yes, I was very confused as to why I got a showercap form you, I was waiting for the punchline...;)

Sometimes it's nice to leave hubby home...

This is Mom's trip, and he understands that. He is also the least sociable person I know, he's very (in a nice way) selfish of me, doesn't share well. ;) He's the kind that takes me to a party and wants me to sit in a chair next to him all night...sometimes I just gotta get up a go...so this will be my get-up-and-go Trip.

Mom's pretty flexible and knows my planning methods. If she wants to do her own thing, trust me, she will

Nan-email sent-

Karen: I like using "Magical Gatherings"- I can tell ours will be :)

it'll be a little bit before I finalize more meet details, I'll keep you posted so you can make Kayla her maps.

I'm still catching up from vaca, gotta update my who's going thread, gotta update my meet list, gotta update my excursions...busy busy busy...I have sooo much fun with stuff like this, it's in me do be the planner/researcher for our trips.

:wizard: P&PD for your flight Dec 24th-I trust you'll be fine.

Kris: Yay! Relax lady...one day at a time...I won't overload you with details, when I get the list done it'll only be one piece of paper for you.

:dancer: Keep Jazzercising Lady, sounds like you're doing great! :dancer:

Crude...I just lost my post.....short recap....

Love the AT pictures, have a good idea for mine (yes, I need WDW now too!!!) Tigg, if they are availble get me one in Sept huh? I can get it from you on the ship, no need to have it now, you know the drill afraid that it will be sold out!!!!

Kris, okay looking for that room.

Kris & Aisling I start back at curves on 8/31....Wilson's first real day of school...I'll be crying my way around the circle, and then headed out for some kind of food to make me feel better....

The rest of you all...have a great weekend and I'll chat back with you soon,

Nan

I got AKL for Dec. 23rd for $189!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's awesome! That's my favorite resort. Where did you find out about that McDonalds phone number?

Southwest fares are now out for our dates. Luckily, I have a rapid rewards award, so we only need to buy one ticket - cheapest non-stop is gonna be about $400 for 1! Usually, both of us can fly to Orlando for that.

The only non-stop leaves at 9:35 AM on Friday - which would get us there at 2:55 PM, which would give us quite a bit of time to enjoy an evening at AKL...

I wanted the Hyatt because the Southwest non-stop from Phoenix usually gets in very late.

The Seas are going to be very, very rough, be prepared. I took my whole family 8 of us and 2 got very sick but had a wonderful time. Couldn't get near Castaway Cay the seas were so rough. Literly could not walk a straight line the whole cruise. Been on 4 Cruises since all in July

Grim-Aisling said she called CRO and wound up with that McDonald's discount.

Nan-WDWgoldAT will do! We go October 8th to October 15th. Anything else you want just call, you got the number ;)

Grim, my friend Rose checked for flights yesterday and they weren't up yet...I'll have to go back and check again...

I'm thinking that best discounts come out 60 to 75 days before flying-I know it's not the smartest thing to do but I'm gonna wait a little bit longer and cross my fingers for a better rate.

You could always go to the promenade lounge for the meeting from 2:30 to 3 or 3:30. The all aboard should be around 3:45. The boat drill at 4. the sail away party is at 4:45 & there might be a single sailaway at the family pool bar. & the port departure at 5.

Love the pictures Colleen.

Got that Ma!

It'll be on the list, just not the first day ;)

I'll be at the Taylor's tomorrow, want me to bring your hat or pack it with my stuff? Yes, I already have a pile of stuff to pack for the cruise

joksten2000-I am praying you are wrong

Grim, you did this before right? How were the seas?

:umbrella:

Tig; Me,too, please?? I would love a gold ear AT! Either that, or do you think they will be available on the cruise or at the airport??

Thanks for the PD!!

This, from a non-hat girl!
A bit mad...convinced Mom we shouldn't take the kids swimming this afternoon, as the radar indicated a huge line of showers moving in...they have proved to be NOTHING. Figures!
We are flying in Sat. the 24th...not my idea, MIL booked. We have like a 6AM flight out of Omaha...no idea what airline, connections (PLEASE not O'Hare), nor arrival time...I really liked coming in a day early in Oct., and plan to do that for future cruises!
Found the MOST darling black cocktail dress today, 75% off! Unfortunately, I couldn't get the top half of the zipper zipped...and OF COURSE it doesn't come in a larger size! Found a pretty chocolate brown one w/ a swing skirt...something different...but not ready to fork out $160!
joksten...I'm not willing to accept that it WILL be rough seas...I anticipate it as we cross the Gulf stream, and realize it is a definite possiblity, but I remain positive!
Well, nice last blast of summer this weekend; friends over tonight for gathering, then cookout at our house tomorrow eve for my folks' 40th. Always intended to have a big bash, but budget isn't there. Guess my dad better live 10 more years!!!!!!!!!!
Bye, all! :wave2:
Kris

Karen: You're on the list!

I'm not really sure if you'll find them outside the parks :confused3

Kris, I agree about the seas...it's the optimist in me...we would have heard something from our repeat cruisers if that were an issue from last year. :fingerscrossed:

:wizard: P&PD your flights go well too Kris

I keep putting it off, I guess I better get my tush out there and start shopping for that dress

Enjoy the Party this weekend!

I'll even send in a wish for your Dad and at least ten more years of good health.

We went mid-November 2003. The seas were ROUGH the first couple of days (they were high - i don't remember exactly how high, but they were at least 20-ft at one point). Dede was sick the first 2 days. She finally got over it by taking a double dose of the bonine they give out on the ship. The seas calmed down by the 3rd day.

It didn't affect CC or any other ports.

It was actually pretty funny - everyone was stumbling around like they were drunk.

From what I understand, Dec-Jan statistically has calm seas, so I'm not worried.

Arrrgh.

I just called Aisling's CRO number, and they quoted me AKL standard room for $361.26 + tax!

grim pirate:

Thank you for your reassurance Grim!

The realist in me says to pack non-drowsy dramamine, ginger snap cookies and ginger ale.

I read that ginger is a natural seasickness remedy-the trick being you ingest it before the sickness can hit you. Like at home or the hotel starting the night before we go.

That stinks! :(

Just proves how quick the good stuff can disappear!

Last night when Rose called me about the airfare as quick as I got locked up on my PC :badpc: and back in the flight I wanted was gone.

I've never seen round trip Philly to Orlando for only $117 before-but I got it :dancer:

The last time I came close I would've had to drive to Allentown to fly for $120.

Mine will be an hour after Rose's but she's fine with that...said she'll go get the rental car and relax while she waits for me to arrive.

I was over on the cruise pics thread and found this...

It's a picture of the sailaway party taken from deck 10-perfect example of how close the meet would be to the party

oooooooooo...nevermind...he won't work

It was snoopy dancing with his ears held high

Grim, I'm going to call that same number again right now, just to see what the story is. $189 is a huge difference than $361!

Nan and Kris, I'm still dragging myself to Curves, but once I get doing it, I do enjoy it. My tummy is still here, but I'm noticing a difference on my sides. This is us at our exercise classes--------->

Karen, from which airport are you flying out of? We also have a full day of school on the 23rd, but luckily we live very close to JFK and will be taking the 5:10. So many people fly in the day of the cruise, and the mishaps are statistically low. And you, Tig, and I live close enough to each other to meet before the cruise. Do you live by the Flemington Mall? My SIL and I shop there sometimes.

I'm gonna go make that CRO call now. :wizard:
