I usually make a breakfast casserole but my husband has offered to make breakfast sandwiches. (I will fry the bacon the day before) He makes fried eggs with a slice of cheddar cheese on top, adds the bacon and puts on a toasted buttered bagel. Serve with strong coffe and juice. Yum!
What will you have? :santa:

That sounds really good. We're havin' Red Velvet pancakes.

We usually make Christmas French Toast (cinnamon bread dipped in egg nog and grilled), hashbrown casserole, and bacon. But Christmas is on a Sunday and we will be going to church early, I am just going to heat up some Sister Schubert's cinnamon rolls.

Mmmm! Can we come to y'all's house for breakfast? I had to get Mrs. Tex to come read over my shoulder, and she said that the bagel sandwiches and the Christmas French Toast both sound wonderful. I agree!!

Do you mind me asking what a Breakfast Casserole is? Haven't heard of that before.

Usually by breakfast time I'll have eaten at LEAST one Terry's chocolate orange (tradition since I was a kid) so no big breakfasts here.

We'll usually have some lovely fresh croissants and pain au chocolate. Enough to keep us going until lunch time without being too much.

Ya know, it's never been a big deal with my family on what they eat on Christmas morning. Usually after gifts are opened, hubby and I are cleaning up the mess while the boys will grab a bowl of cereal. Then hubby hits the shower and will get something to eat afterwards.

But this year, I think I might do something a little special, whether try one of those breakfast casseroles, pancakes or egg sandwiches, etc. Although, that cinnamon bread french toast dipped in egg nog sounds .

I just bought the new Taste of Home cookbook that is all about breakfast, so I'll have to take a peek at that and see what I can come up with.

Keep the ideas coming.

Country ham biscuits, Moravian sugar cake, and hot chocolate. Usually I fry the ham and heat the biscuits before I wake up my daughters, so it's all ready when they come downstairs.

We are not big breakfast people and Christmas morning is an eat out of your stocking type breakfast- there are always candy and cookies in the christmas stockings and that is breakfast- just like Easter LOL!

We do Make-Ahead Gingerbread Pancakes. The pancakes are made ahead of time and frozen. On Christmas AM, all we have to do is pop them in the oven for 5 minutes. We have Christmas cookies, too.

Same here but we do love a big breakfast. Hmmm....what to do. Have to think on it.;)

We do french toast casserole (made the night before- brioche, cream cheese, eggs, maple syrup), and popovers! DD will have a snack when she wakes up at home, open gifts here, then we head to my Moms (as do bro & his fam) by 9 or so, have breakfast, and start opening gifts there.

We usually do the cinnabon cinnamon rolls. They are easy and a nice treat! I love french toast though so I may look into that!

Christmas breakfast usually consists of cereal. It's a tradition from when I was a kid ~ we had a large family and my mom didn't buy the sugary cereals. Every year as part of our stocking, each child received a box of their favorite cereal and that's what we ate for breakfast.

I've done that for our oldest son since he was 3 and will do it again this year for him and DS2. I've also made monkey bread and serve it with coffee and juice so we have something to snack on while opening presents. However this year, DS14 is getting a Belgian Waffle maker as a Christmas gift (he asked for one) so I have a feeling he'll want to make waffles. Either way it will be somewhat of a quick breakfast because we have to be on the road by 11am to go to my in-laws house so we'll need to start getting ready around 9:30am.

I always make french toast casserole. I just make it the night before and can pop it in the oven when the kids are opening their gifts so its done by the time they are finished.

We do chocolate croissants (JUST like the ones at WDW). One of DH's coworkers takes orders for them. And a breakfast casserole. Though, the one she made for us last year had a taste to it as though she used wine in the mix. We both HATE wine, so we're going to see if she can make it without that for us.

I make Tonga Toast Christmas morning. Our taste of The Poly in freezing Ohio.

Ewww, wine in a breakfast casserole. That sounds disgusting. I have never heard of that. I hate the taste of wine, to drink it. I love to cook with it though and even I would balk at that.

Normally we do either crab or lobster eggs benedicts. It's a lot of cooking though and I want something easier. Especially since I am the one who does the cooking. :rotfl:

This year I was thinking about doing the Cheese and Crab Brunch Bake from Taste of Home. It would give us close to the same thing, but I could put it all together the night before and just pop it in the oven in the morning.

Then I saw this, showed it to my DH and DM this weekend and there is no question, we will be having this Christmas morning along with some scrambled eggs and some nice thick cut bacon. I can also make it the day before and pop it in the oven, which was a big selling point for me. That and it looks absolutely amazing!!! Kelly's Praline French Toast Casserole.

DragonFly - I love the cereal idea. My DD is always begging for some horrible for you, loaded with sugar cereal when we go to the store. I won't let her. Cinnamon Toast Crunch is bad enough, but Count Chocula and Cookie Crisp just seems so wrong for breakfast. I think I will grab her a box for her stocking this year. Sounds like a fun tradition to start.

Uncle Remus, can you please send me that recipe? Those sound yummy.

I usually make quiche lorraine and french toast. I do the french toast the night before and get everything ready for the quiche as well so I just have to mix up the egg mixture and pop them both in to the oven while we open gifts.

A breakfast casserole is a dish you can prepare the day before, therefore making Christmas morning less hectic as you just place the casserole in oven and an hour later enjoy. There are so many variations, but here is one example. Browse around more at this site and it gives you tons of ideas!
