Planning a trip for 4 nights from Dec 23-27th at WL.
It is VERY expensive. Seems like 2x's the normal price in the summer. Anyone done Christmas at WL?How is the hopliday decorating and holiday spirit? This will be the first time in my life that I have not spent Christmas at home but there is a little fight going on in our extended family and I think it would be good to stay away from it all at Christmas time this year. What if I went cheaper and stayed somewhere like the Coronado or Crarribean? Are those resorts dressed up for the holidays? Tell me everything you know about Christmas at WDW. I appreciate your help.

Christmas time in disney world is beautiful, but yes expensive if you will be there over the actual day. It is very festive and everything is decorated. I'm not sure they miss anything when the decorate. It is ashame you can't go earlier in Dec. but understand the family thing going on. Probably a much better idea to go away.
The WL has some of the best Christmas decs and the moderates do also decorate alot. I don't think you'll find any holiday spirit lacking on your trip wherever you stay.

We have stayed at WDW over Christmas many times. It has always been at CBR. It is decorated beautifully for the holidays. You will have a great time.

wdw is decorated very nice for christmas. however, you can't go wrong w/WL. it is beautiful. all the resorts are decorated, but the WL and grand floridan are fabulous. you might want to consider the candlelight processional at epcot/world showcase. this the telling of the christmas story. you can book a dinner package. we always do; there is usually a 15% discount on shopping at epcot the day you attend the processional if you have booked the dinner package. if you are wanting to book a sit-down for christmas lunch/dinner you need to decide where and what time. this needs to be booked as soon as the 90 days out arrive. and they will book quickly. keep in mind MK will be packed christmas day. the weather is usually very nice in december, but be sure to pack jeans and a jacket for "just in case." have a great trip!

The entire WDW is a Christmas spectacular - a sight to behold and not miss! We stayed at POFQ the year we were there and the resort had Christmas decorations in keeping with the New Orleans theme. It was lovely.

The weather was very cold for Florida on our trip - I left my winter coat home and wished several times that I had brought it with me.

I have never been there during December and we will be going to Disney Dec 15 thru 21 - which falls in value rate which ends Dec 19th (it is my understanding that when you book in the value rate and your stay extends into a more expensive rate, you still get the lower rate for the length of your stay). It is my understanding that all of the resorts start decorating right around or after Thanksgiving. I can't give you much help - this will be the first time we've stayed on property. I was going to be staying at the WL by myself, but now my DD and GS are coming, so we've opted for All Star Sports to save money on accommodations and splurge more on the restaurants.

It would be less expensive if you could change your dates to earlier in the month to coincide with value season, but this wouldn't help you with the family problems

Good luck and enjoy your visit to the world!

We have not stayed at WDW for Christmas, but we were there for Thanksgiving last year, and all of the decorations were up already. We went to the WL to see their decorations and their lobby was beautiful. We were staying at the Polynesion and their decorations were themed accordingly. Each park had its own themed tree. Don't miss the Osborne Lights at MGM, we had fun walking down the street drinking hot chocolate while it was "snowing". Also try to see the Candlellight Processional at Epcot, it was a truly moving experience. We booked the dinner package for this and got to sit in the reserved section so we didn't need to get in line as early as everyone else. :bounce:

We stayed at POR last December (during value season with a discount code) and it was fabulous. I'm going back this December. I don't know if I'll ever chose another time of year now-- I'm hooked! We loved MVMCP, too. It was well worth the extra money.
