Christmas all year long!

Oh, Ann - I'm so sorry you're going through this right now. Just hang in there a day or two and calm down and let the answer come to you. I hope you are still able to take the trip as a family, but just remember - Disney will be there later if you need to postpone. :(

That is why I have kinda picked Friday as the day to "decide" Hopefully tomorrow will be telling with Steve and his employer... then I can decide what direction to go in.

Ann, I wasn't around much yesterday (still fighting being sick and super busy at work). I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sorry to hear this. I hope it all works out and you all still get to go. I'm sending you a big

Thanks, Kathy. I am sure what is suppose to happen will... and I will be ok no matter what. I have for the most part calmed down about it. Tomorrow will be telling...depending on how it goes... I might come here and feel like  or it could go in the complete opposite direction and I could be like :headache

Best case - Steve works off site for 5 days uses 4 days of vacation, has 4 weekend days and works the day of his flight out. (total 14 days)

Worst case - they tell him he can not take the time off even without pay.

There could be some scenarios in the middle too. Based on what happens will set me on a course of what to do ranging from absolutely nothing to canceling the entire trip.

Cross my fingers for tomorrow. Steve thinks that what is going to happen will fall dead set in the center of those scenarios...which actually makes the trip still doable and will still work out for us.

On a positive note... I don't need a new fridge(Steve fixed ours) so that is one less financial distraction...and so helps with the decision of what to do. Course, I would still like a new one...our current one aesthetically is horrid. We bought it before Zach was born and I think it has seen better days. However, we don't need a new one just yet.

Glad you don't need a new refrig! I have been taking care of ours like a baby. It's on the brink, but it's lasting!

You have had a refrig since Zach was born!?:worship: Glad Steve fixed the problem...I hate budget busters and that gives him a few points back towards the d for darling husband side!

Ann, so sorry to hear about the job situation. That really sucks!

I hope you don't have to cancel and that good news comes out of all this in the end.

I hate that ours is in the state it is. As long as it still runs though I guess I should be happy. However, it would be nice if some of the shelves were not broken.

Yes, This fridge has seen several moves and been around a LONG time! Steve did a good job fixing it (and even cleaned it out) So yes, a bit of points for him for that. :goodvibes

hoping something good transpires today :goodvibes

:goodvibes Thank you!!!

Sending lots of positive thoughts your way today!

I will let you know when I hear something...so far.... nothing.

Sending :goodvibes and lots of pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: your way today.

I appreciate it. I just hate how this is going. I have planned and budgeted and WHAM this is a huge monkey wrench in that.

I think that it would have to be pretty extreme for us to cancel entirely. So there is at least that. However, we might need to rethink some of our splurges like the oop meals...and such.

Thinking of you, Ann! Lots of good thoughts (travel thoughts ;)) on the way to you ...... and a little extra for little Zoe. (I made it to the PO today and I finally got to mail off something for her.)
Lots of pixie dust for you all, so this trip is going to be happening!:wizard:

Thank you, Karin. I really think it will all work out. Just not as nicely as I had already planned...but it should still work..maybe... we will see once Steve talks to management.

As for sending something for Zoe... you are too kind.

Ok, so dh called. Not sure I am happy or sad or what. It is what it is. I guess I am mostly worried. I think I don't trust the company he works for. He has got it approved that he can take 2 weeks unpaid personal leave.

First problem I see with this (aside from the UNPAID) is that this will run into actual holiday pay. So the way it works is if you are not currently on the clock so to speak you lose holiday pay. So I fear that they will take his Christmas days and say he can't get paid for those since he is taking the day before off as unpaid time.

Second, he will have 4 days of vacay...but they may or may not apply the time to this 2 week period.

I think I got my way with at least him not taking our departure day as an unpaid day. He plans to work the morning before his flight and while at the airport. (just not in the office) SOOOOO if he is "working" and productive...then I want him to get paid for that. At least that will be one less day that he would not get paid for.

So with not having to buy the fridge...and not technically charging or paying for this trip out of our main account... it probably will work. I mean... I wanted to go and not have this trip affect us financially. Not spending anything out of our account for a couple weeks would have been nice (since I have planned for our expenses already)...but that money we won't spend will now have to be spent on bills instead of other things. And...we could charge some things... it wouldn't be the end of the world.

So while I am very very nervous about this... I think we are not changing any plans. However, I am not doing a :dance3: yet...

Ann- to me that sounds like GOOD news! At least your trip will go on as planned and with Steve along. I'm sad to hear about the "unpaid" part, but you will be making memories of a lifetime and you can work through the next few months while you build back up from the 2 unpaid weeks. Hooray that you're still going!

Ann, well at least this sounds a little more promising and you won't have to cancel the trip. Keep us posted on what you decide about OOP meals, etc. Some of those meals are so large that you could probably share them.
