Christmas all year long!

Love your countdown calendar!! How did you make it. It's so cute. Love the argyle!

white sheet of 12x12 cardstock. 6 - 1 3/4 inch strips of red (one for each week) mounted horizontally on the white leaving a gap between each. then I used a 12x12 sheet printed paper and cut 1 1/2 inch cubes. (made sure to line up the pattern so that it matched up) Then 42 mickey heads were punched and glued into the center of the squares. Then I used a line of hermafix (the non permanent kind) to run along the top of the strip of red. The "present day" squares were marked on the back and then all were mounted onto the strip of hermafix. I used a glitter marker to write in the number of days and then used brads and ribbon to finish it off. I am not sure if I made that should more or less complicated...but it was pretty simple.

Cute calendar! That is one thing I am missing - the countdown calendar. But I think it might give it away to the kids if I put one up. :rotfl:

I seriously think I have a calendar fetish though... I love them... I love to fill them out... I know... it's weird. :rotfl2:

Yeah, not thinking the countdown would be good for you. At least not if you want to keep things a secret. ;)

LOVE the countdown calender!!!

So is playhouse Disney still there? I thought it was closed for some reason. If it's open, i can't WAIT to take Alex!!! I've never had a reason to check it out before! Hope you can make it to all your "must do's" :) But you know it won't be your last trip.

Yup, I am pretty sure it is still there. I bet Alex will LOVE it. Zoe is just outgrowing it though so we can safely skip it.

Ann, I love the countdown calendar. :goodvibes

We were at the mall tonight. I could NOT believe all the Christmas stuff is out. I remember the days that it all waited until AFTER Halloween. :confused3

Cute countdown and stocking idea Ann!
thanks :goodvibes

Isn't it crazy? However, since I didn't stop seeing clearanced Christmas stuff until sometime around March (I think) and it started coming out weeks ago... it really does feel like I have been looking at Christmas stuff "all year long"

i love your countdown calender! We are getting close!!!

We are!!! :woohoo:

I  that countdown calendar, although I don't even want to think Christmas before Halloween is over (this comes from the person who bought Christmas wrapping paper today to spend Monday's personal/mental health day wrapping the advent countdown gifts...you should have seen the look on my kids faces when I put that paper in the cart today...and the cashier was priceless)...maybe you should have gotten Alex a Grinch stocking and he would be happier! :rotfl: Man you would think that teenage boys would have more fun....:rotfl2:

Just LOVE the countdown calendar I want to do one for our trip but I can't since its a surprise for the girls. My hubby did tell me that I can make one for myself if I wanted to but right now I have to get two journals done and still work on my plans for the week that we will be there. Maybe when its 30 days out I will do it.

I have not seen that much Christmas stuff out in the stores yet. Hopefully once Halloween is over with on Monday they will do a quick transfer of merchandise from Halloween to Christmas so I can find some stocking stuffer's for the girls stockings and i also need to find some stuff so i can decorate the room since we will be spending Christmas eve at our resort instead of the resort that my parents will be staying in.

What a fun countdown calendar!!!!!!!

I cannot believe how close you are to leaving! :woohoo: I remember reading your PTR when Christmas was so far away and now ....... winter tyres are back on the cars, the thick coat is out ....... and you are leaving soon! :thumbsup2

I got some wrapping paper too. I thought I would wrap these gifts, but maybe I will just drop them in the stockings. Zoe was so cute this morning. First thing she asked me...bleary eyed, while rubbing her eyes "you didn't tear off the number for today already did you?"

Yes, I had to explain to Alex that I have to include him and there will be an occasional item that he will like. But sometimes the match for what I got Zoe might be a bit below him...but that he should try and have fun or give it to Zoe. For day 42 the item was holiday activity books. For Zoe a Tinkerbell. For Alex- Pooh and friends. Zoe was thrilled and started to play with hers. Alex put his in the pile for Zoe to have. I told Zoe we should bring them both on the plane. These were just items bought at Walgreens (2/$1) so not a huge loss that Alex isn't excited.

Walgreens has been storing their Christmas items up on top of their shelves. They told me they are all in the system now so if I can reach them... I can buy em. :rotfl: Good thing I have a son who is over 6' tall.

I know...it is especially becoming more real as that calendar is shedding squares. I can see just how fast these next 5 and a half weeks are going to go. Soon my ticker will no longer read "1 month ...."

Sunday, 12/18 - day 10

This is an odd day to plan since it is a Sunday and ridemax does not offer Sunday itineraries. Instead it recommends planning for the previous Saturday. Never been a problem, so lets hope it still works out fine.

Also, I have just 5 fridays left before we leave. Since I will be working long hours that last friday (12/2), I hope to have all this planned out by 11/25. That means after this update, I need to get 12/19 done by 11/4; 12/20 done by 11/11; 12/21 done by 11/18 and finally 12/22 done by 11/25

So bare with me in the coming weeks as I get more meticulous in my planning of "things to be done" If any of you read my 9/10 PTR, you will notice I planned out my last days before the trip in great detail. You will likely see something similar this time, starting with the dates I need to plan days out by.

So onward to planning 12/18

This is our final day in DHS. It is our second day and since we do not park hop, this will be the day we bid farewell to the park.

Starting off, we will head to a place yet undiscovered by us.

Lindseythoughtshemightmeetsomefrien.jpg

I am considering getting the infamous carrot cake cookie for breakfast. :scratchin, but not sure that is a good idea for me to have first thing in the morning.

From there we will head over to
IMG_0144.jpg

Originally this was going to be done on 12/14 but I had to move things around so that I could fit everything in. As I mentioned before, we hae not done this in several trips so it will be fun to do this with Zoe since I am sure she does not remember it. Not to mention we will have likely just gone to see the new Muppet movie in theaters right before the trip.

After the show we will head to grab some fast passes for
CIMG0241.jpg

Again, planned originally for 12/14 it is now on the list for 12/18. I can't wait to ride this!!!

Next we will try to make it to the 11:30 showing of
106-BeautyBeastStageMGM8-7-07.jpg

I am not a "tear up at shows" sort of person, but this one always makes me. I don't understand why?? However, I take it to mean I must enjoy it...so we do it each trip.

After the show, I think we may want to share a couple snacks. Since we had such a carb heavy breakfast I wonder if we could get something with a bit more healthy. So I think we will grab a couple fruits/veggies to share(using snack credits) and then purchase a turkey leg to share. (I know 4 of us to share all that, but I did mention it is just a snack, right?)

Next we will grab some fast passes for
Disneytrip0127.jpg

I dont' think Zoe is tall enough, and Steve can't handle rides like this because of his stomach and I have NEVER been on this ride so doubt I would go now....so this leaves Alex to look forward to this ride.

Next will be something I have been really looking forward to doing.
wdw24.jpg

I think there will be some characters to find in there too, so super excited about this and learning to draw! :woohoo:

Next we will be catching the 2pm showing of
086.jpg

The guys always love this show so it will be fair to let them have this since we will have done BATB earlier in the day.

After the show, we will have to head straight for our ADR at
1205091608.jpg

I have booked us for the Fantasmic dinning package so we will get to eat an appetizer with this meal. After not eating too much we will be hungry, so this is a good thing!

After our meal we will have just enough time to use our Star Tours fast passes before making our way to the amphitheater to see the 6:30 showing of

fantasmic.png

After the show, Alex will ride on Rockin Roller Coaster.

Then we will make a quick trip to

TowerofTerror.jpg

I have only rode this once and it ended up with not so pleasant outcome for Steve. I am not sure if I will attempt again.

After we go on TOT, the park will be closing. We however will not be leaving since we have a very late ADR for dinner. I anticipate not getting a meal myself, but rather an appetizer. (lunch was at 3:15 and now dinner at 9pm) This will be an oop meal, but since it is the one place Alex requested I knew I had to fit it in somewhere

I am sure there will be a bit more time in EEMH after we eat, but I know we are going to be pretty beat. Alex may stay, but I am sure the rest of us will head back to WL to call it a night.

This day we will use 6 snack credits (leaving 14), 0 quick service credits (leaving 17) and 4 table service credits (leaving 16)

Ridemax gives us a total wait time of 147 minutes with 68 minutes of walking between rides for the day.

Carrot's a vegetable :thumbsup2

Cream cheese frosting is a dairy :thumbsup2

Sounds like a win-win.

I've never tried one but it's on my list! They look really good!

I second that!!!!!!!!

Ann, you have another fun FILLED day at your hands! I was exhausted just reading about it! :lmao:

Love how you planned all your rides and PLEASE, just don't ask for MM's best server ......... he is SLOOOOOOW!!!!!!!!!!!

We have not been to Sci-Fi in a long time, but we love it ....... their shakes are wonderful and their onion rings are huge and devine ...... just to give you an idea! ;)

g had a Carrot Cake Cookie, once I found Writer's Stop and then we did TSM. He wasn't feeling too hot afterwards, but he thinks its all the sugar in it without anything else to eat. FYI. But while eating it he said it was really good.

Love your plan for DHS day! Alex will appreciate your dinner choice...dreaming of a milkshake right now thanks to you! I hope you can give TOT another try...I am like you I can't wait to try out Animation Studios!

:rotfl2: I guess I never looked at it that way.

I won't ask for their best server :rotfl2: We won't be able to make it to Fantasmic if we get him.

I have not been to Sci fi in a while either and I know that Alex is going to enjoy it. I was just looking at the menu and there is a burger that has a hotdog on it??? It will be great for him.

Since I am on an insulin regulating drug, I try to balance things a bit...so all that sugar truly could be a challenge, but... what are the other choices there? All pastries...so I guess it will be a matter of picking the lesser of the evils. ;)

I might give TOT another try...:scared: Then again.... not sure. I hate that dropping feeling. Freaks me out something fierce and unlike a lot of people with flight or fight and how they go into flight... I always go into fight. It just isnt pretty. :sad2:

Ann, plans sound great for this day. I really think you'll like Writer's Shop and I know you will love the Animation class. When we were there in September, it was Sorcerer Mickey and Winnie-the-Pooh for pictures/autographs (the year before it was Sorcerer Mickey and The Incredibles.

The Incredibles are still there. They are on the floor you walk in on while Sorcerer Mickey and Pooh are on the lower level. Unless you happen to time yourself right. :rolleyes1

Hmmmmm....I missed that. I also remember seeing Lotso in there as well somewhere last year.
