Christmas all year long!

A little behind on my easter wishes for you! Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend! :thumbsup2 in regards to your cheat sheet of 'who is going when!' I would love to know the overlapping dates, too, but haven't kept up with it.

Have a wonderful week!

We are actually DVC members... This will be our first time using it since we just joined earlier this year... Of course it counts not a lot of people have even heard of the island or even know where it is.. I SO miss being back home in the nice cool weather.. It is SO HOT here in AZ that i have no idea if I will every get adjusted to the weather here...:rotfl2:

First, congrats on joining dvc. There are times I think it would be a good idea for us... but always come to the conclusion that with discounts... we spend less than we would if we had DVC. I could be completely wrong though. :upsidedow

Second, you miss the weather here? ACK... I am so tired of the weather here. This has been an odd season. So last monday we woke to an inch of snow on the ground. It snowed off and on that whole day. By Saturday, it was blue sky and 70 degrees.. Now today... POURING and in the 40's. I need more sun... or at least less rain.

It would be :cool1: if our paths cross while we are there enjoying our :santa: Vacation

It would be cool. :thumbsup2 I do plan to put a lime green tag on my bag... I have some from our September trip. I have yet to even remove them. :goodvibes
I hope one of these days I get the chance to write a Pre-Trip report.. I'm not the best writer in the world but I think it would just be cool to journal all my thoughts and ideas for BOTH of my trips that I will be taking this year.. I will be there in Aug and in Dec.. First trip will be for my younger sisters bday and the second one will be our first Christmas there and my parents will be joining me for that trip...

You do not have to be a good writer. Writing a PTR (for me) is more about organizing my thoughts and getting some feedback from others than being a good entertainer. (Lord knows that is NOT a skill of mine. ;)) If you write a PTR (or TR for that matter) I will subscribe. :thumbsup2

No worries... I got started with sending out Easter wishes and then got busy.. so I am not sure that I got to everyone. It happens. I hope your holiday weekend was good too. :goodvibes

As for my cheat sheet.... I fear it seems creepy. :o For the PTR threads I am subscribed to I keep track of when and where each writer is going. Truly I am not a stocker... I just get easily confused and have probably too many PTR's I am sub'd to. It is nice to have a cheat sheet to look at to keep it straight... so I don't think one person is going during x dates and it is really someone else. I could always refer back to each persons info page on their PTR... but it is just easier for me to look on a single sheet. I know.. I am weird. Hopefully that doesn't alarm anyone. :worried: Our two dates overlap quite a bit. (I will be there the entire time you are) Of others that I read that are going in December... most will be done with their trips by 12/17. I had not noticed that until now. In fact, right now on my sheet I am only showing 3 of us Christmas week. I had not noticed that until just now. See... I need a cheat sheet. ;)

My friends that I have that live up there in Whidbey Island told me that it is crazy weather up there today.. It is just so dry and hot here I really miss the change in the weather.. all we get is mostly sun and a breeze every now and then.. during the months of July, Aug, and Sept we get what you call monsoon season and that's when the weather here gets REALLY crazy..

I was doing some counting in my mind and it looks like that we will have four days where our trip runs along with each other.. We might just have to sit out in the rockin chairs there at the lodge and get to meet each other face to face and get to know one another...

By the way thanks for subbin' to my pre-trip report.. I think its gonna be real fun to read...

So will you be moving back to WA then? I do normally really like it. I don't mean to sound so negative....it has just been a LONG winter. Normally, we take a break and head some where sunny at some point in February, March or April... I think I need to get to a sunny happy place soon. :)

That would be so cool!! We should do that!

It will be! :goodvibes

we should most definitely try to set up a meet during our trips, i think i am there almost the exact dates you are, it would be fun!

My sincerest apologies for being a selfish slacker.

I am officially here for the journey!

That would be very cool! You are not writing a PTR, right? Forgive me if you already mentioned it, but what are your dates?

My sincerest apologies for being a selfish slacker.

I was a bit confused... selfish? Why do you think you are selfish? :rotfl: Then I thought.. .maybe... just maybe you had not yet "officially" sub'd to my PTR. Is that it? Well, in that case... you are forgiven. :goodvibes No worries at all. I am just happy to have you along. :thumbsup2

So while I have been a bit chatty on here... I have not gave an update of any kind in a while.

So to bring everyone up to speed here is what has been going on or will be shortly.

4/16 was Kira's bridal shower. We started off the morning with a trial run of her hair up-do. It took 3, yes THREE hours!!! This caused us to run late for the shower. It made Kira very agitated and it was a long drive to the shower. (like over an hour) By the time we go there I was ready for a couple..few glasses of wine. It helped and the party was a beautiful success. Here are some pics.

Not the best pics... but you get the idea. The shower was held at Kira's soon to be in law's home.

Just as we arrived back in town, we had another incident with a local police officer. The long and the short of it is I am really not impressed with our local department. An officer hit an animal and left it for dead on the road. It was a dark stretch of road leading up to a curve that enters onto a state route highway. I don't fault the officer for hitting the animal... things happen. What my issue was is that the animal who was suffering and alive was come upon by two young ladies who we found trying to protect the animal from on coming cars. It was an unsafe situation. When the officer was called by to the scene, she was very crass about the incident noting how surprised she was that the animal was still alive since she hit it earlier. The girls who had been standing in the cold for who knows how long were very distraught. Kira was very professional about it all and spoke with the officer in private. Another car helped to form a bit of a road block. Kira got the animal off the road and took it to an all hours animal hospital. The officer did little more to help than loan Kira a set of gloves. Keep in mind where we are the police also act as animal control so it was well within her job requirements to deal with this situation. Having been the one who caused this situation and the fact that the girls protecting the animal were risking their safety were just the icing on the cake to a rotten situation.

Zach has been writing to me a bit. Things continue to go well for him at basic. I am upset to learn that his graduation is set for a time when Zoe will be in the hospital. I am forced to have to choose between the needs of one child vs. another. Obviously, I cant leave Zoe alone in the hospital... so I will not be attending Zach's graduation. Doesn't that just suck??? :sad2:

Zoe's first set of appointments for the surgery are coming up quick. (May 6th) This will give me a better gauge of what my summer will look like.

The wedding!!!! Not long now. I am a fair bit anxious. I actually think I am more excited for her disneymoon. I can't wait to hear how she tortures her new dh with rides like TOT (he doesn't like things like that) She is playing with ridemax and very shortly here she can do online check in. I can't believe it will be here so soon.

Thanks for the pictures of the shower...it is so nice to "see" into your life and what is happening. Ahhhh...to be young again preparing for your wedding...:) So many things I would do different!!!

I am sorry you have to choose between your 2 children...that really stinks. But I am sure that big brother understands that you have to be there with Zoe! :sad2:

I am looking into this Ridemax program...it looks like something I need. :rotfl:Thanks for the heads up that Touring plans had put more information up about predicted hours and events...last time I had looked they basically had nothing that was useful. I wonder how close in their predictions they in in terms of park hours?

Scary about the animal situation for the 2 girls. A friend of my family was killed trying to help a struggling animal on the road. Makes me mad the officier blew it off...I hope you send a letter to the department...

I don't think we will be moving back up there anytime soon even though we still have a house up there... My dh's new job here in AZ might be a keeper for us... We do need to set up a time that we can sit in the rockers there at WL and have a nice drink or two just getting to know each other..

That would be very cool! You are not writing a PTR, right? Forgive me if you already mentioned it, but what are your dates?
My dates are 12/16-12/23. Nope, not doing a PTR this time around. I will be doing a TR for the trip in 5 days :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:though!

Oh man that sucks!!! i hate having to even choose between a baseball game and a play, i cant even imagine having to deal with all of that :hug:

No kidding! I think that is what I have really been impressed by with my daughter. Although at the start she truly wanted a fairytale wedding, she quickly came to realize that there are many things that that money could go towards (not the least of which is a Disneymoon ;))

I am sorry you have to choose between your 2 children...that really stinks. But I am sure that big brother understands that you have to be there with Zoe! :sad2:

He does. I spoke to him... but he really wants someone to be there. Typically, I am the one who drives us... if I am not doing it or driving us to do it... no one does it on their own.

I am looking into this Ridemax program...it looks like something I need. :rotfl:Thanks for the heads up that Touring plans had put more information up about predicted hours and events...last time I had looked they basically had nothing that was useful. I love ridemax... I do wish it had some crowd calendars... or worked on a mac. I guess it is doing a beta version that would work on the mac, so that would be cool. As for touringplans and their predictions.. I am looking forward to seeing how close they are.

Exactly why it made me mad. One or both of the girls could have been injured or worse. Never mind the lack of compassion for the animal... you would think the officer would have at least been concerned for human safety. I am finding though that this small town seems to be having some problems in their police department. I spoke with some other people and found a more stories... ranging from a lack of concern for safety to not even looking into real crimes to badgering law abiding citizens. I am frustrated by it. I did write a letter after my first experience and the police chief didn't even write back himself, but rather had someone else do it. I am sure that another letter would be of no good. Still, dh and I were wondering why it is that I am being placed in these situations where I am privy to this poor conduct. Makes me wonder if God has some sort of plan for me.

I don't think we will be moving back up there anytime soon even though we still have a house up there... My dh's new job here in AZ might be a keeper for us... We do need to set up a time that we can sit in the rockers there at WL and have a nice drink or two just getting to know each other..

We will set it up... Did you look at my tentative day plans? I know so much will change once hours come out so we will make something concrete once those are out.

My dates are 12/16-12/23. Nope, not doing a PTR this time around. I will be doing a TR for the trip in 5 days :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:though!

I will definitely be subbin...so I can't wait. 5 days?!!! How can you stand it??? !!! :yay::yay::yay: I really hope you have a good time.

:goodvibes

Thank you :goodvibes

Life seems to be so full for you! That shower looked like a wonderful sucess , and of course, the bride to be was radiant! 3 hours to do hair?! Glad you did a practice round.

UGH on the police incidents- both of them. This one seems to be even worse than the last! Sounds like the problems run deeper than one person is going to fix- time for some grass roots solutions.

I would hate to miss my son's graduation/ commissioning too, Ann! Maybe there will be some sort of miracle and either of the conflicting things will get changed. :confused3

I was looking at the ridemax thread...it looks like ridemax has out a new verision that works on mac...?????

:wizard: Hoping for this!!!!

Sorry I have not been on in awhile happy late Easter! Kira's bridal shower looked very nice and I liked her hair! About the animal in the road with the cop- I agree that they are just slipping all throughout the country lately with a few things! And maybe someone can video tape Zach's graduation and you can all watch it together when Zoe comes home and your able to enjoy yourselves!

I was a bit confused... selfish? Why do you think you are selfish? :rotfl: Then I thought.. .maybe... just maybe you had not yet "officially" sub'd to my PTR.
:rolleyes1 That wasn't it at all... :rolleyes1

If I haven't told you already... I'm a photographer in my other, other, OTHER life and this photo cracked me up.

Look at the bag... it's placement in relation to her head...

Now... notice that her neck and both arms are bare???

It's looks like she's wearing the bag dress!

I love it!

Me either. :sad2:

It's the suckiest of suck.

Zoe's first set of appointments for the surgery are coming up quick. (May 6th) This will give me a better gauge of what my summer will look like.
I hope they can get the procedure refined enough to not make the bulk of the recovery take the whole summer. It's not fair for a darling baby to have to be cooped up, let alone in a cast of some sort during the funnest part of the year.

We will set it up... Did you look at my tentative day plans? I know so much will change once hours come out so we will make something concrete once those are out.

I sure did look at your tentative day plans.. Once hours are released we can plan on catching up one of the days you are there... Oh I can't wait  its gonna be a wonderful time

Love the pictures of the shower. And what an AWFUL police officer!! :headache:

I'm sorry you won't be able to go to Zach's graduation, but Zoe will be needing you. And you are right...it does suck!

Where are Kira and her hubby to be staying for their Disneymoon?

The shower looks like it was a blast. I LOVE the cake and Kira looks beautiful!

That totally sucks about your local police officer and the animal :( My DH is a Deputy here and one morning on his way to work on his motorcycle he got stuck behind where a horse got hit by two huge trucks. It was a very dangerous situation and he wound up having to get the all clear from his Sgt to put the animal out of it's misery. That officer should have done what she's paid to do to take care of that situation. I hate officers that make other law enforcement officers look bad :(

I'm glad to hear that Zach is still doing good but that totally sucks that his graduation is while Zoe will be in the hospital. Life just isn't fair sometimes but I'm sure Zach understands.
