My kids saying they want Ipod touchs for Christmas that's 600 because I have buy one for each kid. Plus I want one for my self. That may be there only gift. My mom is getting a mp3 player for Christmas.

crazelion: Check out the refurbished section of the Apple website. We got both kids iPod touches there last year & they're still going strong. Cheaper too. Came in a box just like a brand-new one.

So I know it's wicked early, but I started by buying my first Christmas present yesterday for Tim's DD9. It's a "zipit" bag that is really cool! I think she'll love it :)

Here is the link:

With SO many people to shop for, I always start early because it's easy to do $20 here and there but $500-$1000 total in November/December is killer!:scared1:

Anyone else as crazy as I am and started shopping already? :rotfl:

Wicked early? I started December 26, 2010! :rotfl2: But then I always do. My DH thinks I am nuts...
But I am about 70% done with my Christmas shopping! Now I just have to start wrapping it. Yeah, I do that early, too. While I listen to my Christmas albums. Notice a pattern? Maybe I am crazy...

I don't think it's too early to be thinking about Christmas, heck, Hallmark had Christmas ornaments out in early July!

I haven't bought any Christmas presents yet but possible gifts have been on my mind - I'm gonna try to get a good amount at WDW in September... and I have my 'homemade' gift ideas in mind already as well :)

Oh, and by July 1st, I had about 20 christmas cards done! lol haven't worked on anymore... but I probably should continue with them :)

I've only bought two things so far, a pair of Despicable Me pj's that were clearanced at walmart and a Tinkerbell birthstone pin at WDW that my DD really wanted, but decided she wanted to buy something else instead. I have started getting ideas, though and I have a pretty good list going for each kid and even for extended family.

The one I'm really not sure of is my 10yo. He wants a laptop, I guess just more like a netbook(?), just something to do his homework on. He has a fine motor disability so he types his work instead of writing it so he's asking for one, but I'm just not sure yet. We always have the family desktop if I don't get him one, but it would be nice for him to have it, he will need it next year when he goes into middle school.

You all have such great ideas!! I love this thread!

I love buying gifts with rewards!! That is how my mom is getting her Nook Color, and the accessories. And my dad got his Starbucks cards with my rewards. At first I felt bad because I wasn't spending money, but then I thought about it and realized yes, I did spend the money in order to earn the rewards!

DD's bday is in late November, so I have to make it through that first. I get a little crazy with birthday planning ;)

However, we had a great groupon for an upscale toy store ($15 for $50 worth of toys), so we added $20 and bought DD a nice baby doll (Corelle I think?). We will probably buy an outfit for that as well. Other than that, she will probably get some new books and stocking stuffers. I go for quality, not quantity.

I bought some adorable little signs for my mom when she entertains (Entrees, Desserts, etc).

I will buy Dad a gift certificate for a local golf course before it closes for the winter.

Used Coke Rewards to get my sister and BIL 2 Movie Tickets and Bucket of Popcorn from AMC. Will probably do this for SIL/BIL too if I get enough points by then.

Hoping to score some $25 giftcards from Reward TV.

FYI - My mom got a beautiful (and sturdy) wooden doll bed for DD at IKEA. I think it was $10.

Thanks we don't have one around here. But I think the Mill store sells them for 15.00 but I would rather pay 10.00.

Has anyone ordered from Lakeside Collection? I am getting ready to place an order. They have tons of gift ideas and their super cheap!

I have a few gifts that are perfect for the person. Some I got on sale but a few are specialty that I paid full price. I like to be done before Black Friday with everything - shopping, wrapping and decorating so DH and I can enjoy the season. We can view lights, attend/host get togethers and just lay low before big events.

Yes I have ordered from them previously. There items are okay. Along the same lines as ABC Distributing or LTD if you have used either of those. I swear that they are all the same company.

Thanks! I just wanted to make sure they weren't crappy items. I'm buying a couple dog toys and christmas tags, etc.

I 2nd the refurbished touches! I have one that's almost two years old and still working great.

I'm glad I saw this thread even though Dh isn't going to be thrilled about me shopping we just have SO.MUCH.TO.DO. I need to get started early. 14 nieces and nephews between the two of us. Plus 6 of them have birthdays in Nov-Jan. :scared1:

Plus his family does a secret santa exchange where you spend $150 on your person, plus gifts for his parents. And I get gifts for a few of my friends. Yeah that can't all wait till December or we'd be broke and I would be at my wits end trying to figure out good gifts for everyone!

So, I just emailed someone on etsy about two gifts for two of the kids.

I've been looking at my email every day for good deals from Toys R Us and the Disney Store but I haven't seen anything good besides free shipping.

Wow! You have a whole bunch to buy for! I actually only buy for my parents and my pups. And sometimes a couple of friends, but not very often.
I think i have decided that I am going to get my dad a flat screen tv. I see Best Buy has the 24 inch for $180! Which is an awesome deal. That will probably be his only gift from me besides his stocking stuffers and his two gift cards. I don't think he has any interest in having a flatscreen, but oh well! He did mention something about a police scanner, but the nice ones are so expensive!

Just wanted to let you know if you haven't heard the news already that these will only be $169 starting on August 12th =) My dd wants one too, and I almost bought it before I heard the news. I'm so glad I waited...lol

THANK YOU!!!!! DD has been saving her money for months now and hasn't been able to quite get up to the $249.99 (plus tax). She is going to FREAK!

How do you get gift cards from Reward TV?

FYI - My mom got a beautiful (and sturdy) wooden doll bed for DD at IKEA. I think it was $10.

Can you givem e a description or picture? I don't live near an IKEA, but my DSIL does. This might be a good idea to tell her for my DD and DN. Are these beds that fit the Americna girl dolls?

Yep, I started.

Only because Target had their semi-annual 75% off toy sale last week! Cha-ching! I got my boys' medium-to-small gifts completely taken care of (lots of bakugan stuff, and small-to-medium die cast cars and Harley motorcycles.) They had a few things for my girls, but not as much (Agent Oso for my 2 year old and some My Little Pony stuff for my 5 year old daughter).

I ended up with 4 HUGE shopping bags full of Christmas toys for just under $100. ;)

I think for my one brother's family, which I don't normally buy for the adults because of all of the kids, I am going to get them a family membership to the Shedd aquarium which is $175. They love coming to Chicago to do things and that will wipe out four kids Christmas gifts and the youngest turns three in December so I will get him a small toy as well. But I can't buy that in advance because the membership starts the day you buy it.

Those are really my only ideas so far :rotfl: any good ideas for a newborn and a girl's first birthday?
