I will be going to put items in layaway on the 15th of this month for Christmas and putting some $$ aside for Black Friday. DH will not be deployed for Thanksgiving this year so I can go and hopefully snag some good deals. I normally start putting items in layaway in January/Feburary, but I had a lot on my plate this year.

I was cleaning out my closet & a little used area of the house today & found a bag with a button-up shirt for DS & a hoodie for DD from a local Christian bookstore. Since DS has asked for a Nintendo 3DS for Christmas his 'piece' of the tree was going to be a little sparse so I'm glad to have found something else to stick under the tree.

I got a Kohls $10 off card in the mail a week or so ago. I took it to Kohls the other day and they were having a buy on get on 50% off toy sale. I bought DS a Thomas Mega bloks Engine and some Cars mighty Beans for only 2.14 after the $10 discount. Then I went to a discount store and picked up a bottle of scented lotion for each of my girls. At the dollar store I found snowglobes (a Christmas tradition) for each of my kids interests or collection (Noah's Ark for DS, Kittens for DD12 and Beach themed for DD14) I also found a great wooden 3D Dragon puzzle for a stocking stuffer for DH. I'm going to go layaway most of my large gifts at Kmart in a couple of weeks. I can get almost all the big things they want there except for the new phones which I will order through Sprint inh Dec. They are each getting two large items. Cars portable DVD player and an Android phone for DS, Portable DVD player and camera for DD12, a camera and Android phone for DD14 and a good camera for DH. I will also be getting each the pup pass at GWL as we will be staying ther Christmas Eve and Christmas night. So if I just keep picking up little things I'll be all set.

I did some more shopping online early, early this am (stupid insomnia!) got a few more people done. It's also nice cuz I can ship this stuff down to MO where my inlaws live which also takes the hassle out of the holidays for me.

I found a great deal on Automoblox mini cars about a month or so ago. I bought a set of 3 and then 3 seperate cars (so 6 cars all togeather) for $34 with shipping. They are normally $10-$12 dollers a car. Also got a decent deal on a game for my son's mobigo. Haven't started shopping for anyone else.

How do you get gift cards from Reward TV?

You answer surveys and questions about TV shows you watch to earn points. Twice a week they have a "shopping spree" where you can use your points for $5, $10, or $25 gift cards. I have only ever gotten the $5 ones, but I hoping to get some $25 for Christmas gifts.

Can you givem e a description or picture? I don't live near an IKEA, but my DSIL does. This might be a good idea to tell her for my DD and DN. Are these beds that fit the Americna girl dolls?

I don't think it would be big enough for American Girl Dolls. My DD keeps her Sing-a-ma-jigs in it!

I think it is never too early to start Christmas shopping. I was at Target a week or so again when they marked all the toys down to 75% off. I left with 3 cart fulls and picked up a couple of other things here and there. I am done shopping now. I think I spend maybe $250 for 3 cart fulls.

Bumping this up because I scored a few more deals. Picked up the Nintendo 3DS for my son (about his only gift for Christmas) & because it was by tonight he gets 20 free games to download.
Then I went to our local used media store to use a $5 GC they put in our Entertainment Book. With the coupon I was able to get 2 used CDs my DS would like (stocking stuffers) for $3 total. I checked them once I got out to the car & they don't have a scratch on them. Cases are a little worse for wear but they'll be going straight on his iPod so no biggie.

Now I just need a good deal on a Nintendo 3DS case.

some of our local Walgreens are remodeling so they sent out a coupon for $5/$25 in any of the stores under construction. I got some stocking stuffers for just over $20 including 3 Webkinz sets that have a regular webkinz plus a mini-one as well. Both have codes and the sets were marked down to $4.99 each. I normally give the kids each 1 stuffed animal at Christmas so now I have something for each of the 4 kids.

I have been picking up Christmas gifts here and there for the last couple of months. I bought some small purses for $9 and socks from Little Miss Matched for my girls. Then they came out with Disney merchandise, so I had to get my mom a Mickey purse too. Still looking for ideas for my grandmother. Opened up my first Christmas Lay away at Kmart the other day. Could only do my oldest and yougest daughters presents though as my middle DD was with me. Still have no clue as to what to get for her though and she's not giving ideas that are solid.

I bought DD the Thomas train she wanted on Zulilly for about $28 shipped. It came with three friends that she isn't expecting so she will be happy about that.

I am making her some dancing hoops and since I do hair fluff I already have the materials.

I have a bid on her cupcake purse on Ebay right now.

I still have to find/make craft kits, a girly lego set, a robot that can fly (ug what on earth? it is on her list, she started early...how do I find one that flies?), a magnetic dart board, a vera bradley like mamas (not going to happen), colored pencils and a nice sharpener and a bag of chuck e cheese tokens.

I have officially started my Christmas shopping today! We buy our 2 girls 5 gifts each (Something they: want, need, read, wear, and something from my heart) it is so hard not to impulse buy. Bought DD(15) a perfume tray for her dresser. She is just starting to get into perfume/makeup so I bought her the tray from Hobby Lobby 50% off. I will pick up some perfume (maybe a set from Kohl's of all the "famous" perfumes) to go with it as 1 of her gifts. (Now is it the wear?) LOL

My mom collects goats so I bought a goat ornament from Hobby Lobby and used my 25% off coupon for her stocking.

Bought 4 mini flashlights on clearance for $2.00/each for DH, my mom, and 2 DD stockings.

Feels good to get started.
