~Stronger than Before~
I know God can heal all things...
Broken lives and broken wings..
Only He can mend a heart
That this world has torn apart
As the seasons make their turn
Theres a lesson here to learn
Broken wings take time to mend
Before they learn to fly again
and on the breath of God they'll soar
They'll be stronger than before..
Don't look back into the past
What was fire now is ash
Let it all be dead and gone
The time is now for moving on
As the seasons make their turn
Theres a lesson here to learn
Broken wings take time to mend
Before they learn to fly again
and on the breath of God I'll soar
I'll be stronger than before..

same author and basic song, different words.

EVEN THO' THE RAIN COMES DOWN
IT BRINGS LIFE INTO THE GROUND
AND I KNOW THE SUN WILL SHINE
AND THAT BRINGS HOPE AGAIN
TO THIS HEART OF MINE....THIS HEART OF MINE

I KNOW GOD CAN HEAL ALL THINGS
BROKEN LIVES AND BROKEN WINGS
ONLY HE CAN MEND A HEART
THAT THIS WORLD HAS TORN APART....TORN APART

AS THE SEASON MAKES THEIR TURN
THERE'S A LESSON HERE TO LEARN
BROKEN WINGS TAKE TIME TO MEND
BEFORE THEY LEARN TO FLY AGAIN
ON THE BREATH OF GOD THEY'LL SOAR
THEY'LL BE STRONGER THAN BEFORE

WHEN WE LOOK INTO THE PAST
LOVE'S THE ONLY THING THAT LASTS
AND THIS LOVE WILL KEEP US STRONG
WITH GOD'S HELP WE'RE MOVIN' ON...TIME FOR MOVIN' ON

ON THE BREATH OF GOD WE'LL SOAR ...WE'LL BE STRONGER THAN BEFORE

Michelle, I will pray for you and your whole family.

Thank you all again for your prayers.

I'm back at work today, still not feeling 100% but I'm much better than I was.

I have lots of Psalms to post so we can get caught up. :)

January 10-11, 2004

"Thou wilt hear me." Psalms 17:6

May You hear me say thank you a thousand times and then a thousand times more.

Okay! Now we have today's Psalm and then I better get to all this work I have to catch up on. :)

"The earth is the Lord's." Psalms 24:1

May I cherish it today and always. :)

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Thank you, Michelle!

Morning has broken like the first morning;
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird.
Praise for the singing! Praise for the morning!
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word!

Sweet the rain's new fall sunlit from heaven,
Like the first dewfall on the first grass.
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden,
Sprung in completeness where His feet pass.

Mine is the sunlight! Mine is the morning,
Born of the one light Eden saw play!
Praise with elation; praise ev'ry morning,
God's recreation of the new day!

Morning has broken like the first morning;
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird.
Praise for the singing! Praise for the morning!
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word!

This is one of my daughter's (and mine too) favorite songs. I just love the way it makes me feel. Kind of warm and comfortable and loved. Hope all are having a great weekend. Lisa

Hallelujah (Your Love Is Amazing)
VERSE 1:
Your love is amazing, steady and unchanging
Your love is a mountain, firm beneath my feet
Your love is a mystery, how You gently lift me
When I am surrounded, Your love carries me

CHORUS:
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Your love makes me sing
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Your love makes me sing

VERSE 2:

Your love is surprising, I can feel it rising
All the joy that's growing deep inside of me
Every time I see You, all Your goodness shines through
And I can feel this God song, rising up in me

CHORUS:

TAG:
Yes, You make me sing
Lord, You make me sing, sing, sing
How You make me sing

Michelle, thanks for those great Scriptures!

We often speak to God during times of great emotion. Then
when we don't experience immediate results, we assume He
either didn't hear us or didn't care about us. We often fail to
consider His view of our lives--His infinite perspective--and His
refusal to become entrapped by our sense of the immediate. God
is an eternal Being who operates on an eternal schedule.

-Excerpted from "The Power Book" by Stephen Arterburn

I tried to go to church, but as I was putting on my make-up the tears just started flowing. Somedays, all of my losses just seem to implode on me -- my loss of my marriage, my sons loss of a family, the loss of my church (their basic method of handling this seems to be ignore it and it will go away -- as though supporting me through this separation would mean that they condone separation/divorce), loss of my dreams for my family and future and on and on.

This hymn has been on my heart the past week --

BE THOU MY VISION

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of heaven, my victory won,
May I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet" but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Phillippians 3:13,14.

I'm trying to cling to those promises today.

Hugs, and pass the kleenex, please!

Edie

Oh, Edie! Lots of love and  coming your way. Remember, we may not know what the future holds, but we certainly know Who holds our future. HE has much in store for you, sister. Hang tight to your faith, and know that He is loving you, and providing for you, even in the midst of the storm.

I have journeyed
Through the long dark night
Out on the open sea
By faith alone
Sight unknown
And yet His eyes were watching me

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

I’ve had visions
I’ve had dreams
I’ve even held them in my hand
But I never knew
They would slip right through
Like they were only grains of sand

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

I have been young
But I am older now
And there has been beauty these eyes have seen
But it was in the night
Through the storms of my life
Oh, that’s where God proved
His love to me

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

New to this thread and I haven't managed to wade through all 118 pages of it - so I hope this isn't a repeat, but even if it is, it's a great song and always lifts my spirits

<b>He Reigns - Newsboys</b>

It’s the song of the redeemed
Rising from the African plain
It’s the song of the forgiven
Drowning out the Amazon rain
The song of Asian believers
Filled with God’s holy fire
It’s every tribe, every tongue, every nation
A love song born of a grateful choir

It’s all God’s children singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns
It’s all God’s children singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns

Let it rise about the four winds
Caught up in the heavenly sound
Let praises echo from the towers of cathedrals
To the faithful gathered underground
Of all the songs sung from the dawn of creation
Some were meant to persist
Of all the bells rung from a thousand steeples
None rings truer than this

And all the powers of darkness
Tremble at what they’ve just heard
‘Cause all the powers of darkness
Can’t drown out a single word

When all God’s children sing out
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns
All God’s people singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns

Welcome ABC mom!!!! What a great song! The News Boys Adoration Tour is coming to our area in February and I am trying to win tickets off of the radio!

Well, the Eagles just lost to the Carolina Panthers and I guess I have to be happy for those Carolina people I love around here! This is the third year in a row that they lost this Chapionship Game and, well...it's just getting old! Well...fortunately I have learned from all this losing late in the season that it's just a game! Now here's the hard part...do I root for my southern friends' team in the Superbowl or my New England buddy...choices...choices... :scratchin

On a more serious note, thanks for your prayers for my niece, Jess. I am asking for continued prayer, please. She will most likely be taking at least a semester off from college to go into a treatment center for anorexia and bulemia...she is being evaluated ASAP. Please pray for her and her family.

Edie, I wish you could talk to my mom! She went through this 32 years ago and I know she would be able to offer you words of comfort...it seems like everything you say is just like a replay of so many things my mom felt and our family went through. I am so glad for you that you have God and I pray you will find a supportive group of believers to fellowship with.
 for you!!!!!!

Love to all!

Everything You Are/Big Daddy Weave

You are Holy
God of the Heavens
Almighty
Lord of Creation
You have power
The universe displays
All things fade away
But You remain

And Your mercies stretch across my life
As far as I can see
And I know from experience that You are good indeed
I stand here in amazement of your awesome majesty
For words cannot describe oh God
Everything You are to me

You are Father
You called me Your very own
My redeemer
You left heaven's throne
My ransom
With blood for me You paid
One day unashamed
I'll see Your face

And Your mercies stretch across my life
As far as I can see
And I know from experience that You are good indeed
I stand here in amazement of your awesome majesty
For words cannot describe oh God
Everything You are to me

Indescribably good
Lord that’s what You are to me
You are making me into
Just what You want me to be

You are Jesus
And I love You!!!!

And Your mercies stretch across my life
As far as I can see
And I know from experience that You are good indeed
I stand here in amazement of your awesome majesty
For words cannot describe oh God
Everything You are to me
