This has been such a difficult search -- with my husband's leaving, he's still attending our old church and sitting in our old pew. Really hard to take the the adulterer gets to sit right up front, while I have to find somewhere in the back. So, I've been looking for a new church and think I'll attend a Wesleyan church with a more contemporary service. Everyone has been so welcoming and I never have to sit alone.

Anyway, Jilly, glad your singing went so well. Jeremiah 29:11 got me through the first year of this separation, my new verse is 1 Peter 5:10 -- "But may the God of all grace, who called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen and settle you."

A song that has been going through my head lately, (an oldie, but a goodie)

I think my hardest struggle through these last 18 months of separation and the eventual divorce, has been wanting my old life back. I don't get to have that. But God, in all of his glory, has something new and wonderful in the future for me -- and I will never be the same.

Well, it's raining again today -- but that isn't any big news, it rains a lot in NW Pennsylvania (I think we're second in annual rainfall to Portland!)

BUT, I've awakened in a good mood everyday this week and just want to praise the Lord for that! Even in the midst of trials, He is with us and lifting us up! So I'm singing:

Actually, on MD I will be watching kids! My friend Stephanie, (some of you may remember praying for her last year when her husband was killed in a car accident) is teaching a sewing class in the afternoon so I'm watching her son and daughter. Christian is Michael's age and Kaitlyn is three...she just thrills me as I spend most of my time with BOYS!! Please pray for this family.

Edie, I am so glad you are here. Are you near Erie PA? I have heard they get a lot of lake effect rain there. I'm in eastern PA...wouldn't want to be ANY FURTHER from the beach!! Those songs above are wonderful...I especially like I Dance!!! I have never heard it but I think the next time I go to the Christian bookstore I will using the listening booth and maybe making a purchase!!

Edie, I am in prayer for you dear sister. I can only imagine what you're going through. My mother went through it, only her husband did not hang around like that. That must be so painful for you. I just heard a sermon this morning on the radio about walking through adversity and how God uses it to mold us. I pray you would be drawn ever closer to him and feel the support of those who love you. I pray for God's peace and presence to fill you up completely and that you may totally turn your circumstances over to him. It sounds like you have a good support network and that you have committed to praising God despite your pain. I pray that you would be able to do that UNHINDERED. May your worship to Him bring you to a place where the outporing of His grace and love is evident for your strengthening and growing! We love your posting here...I pray you find encouragement as you encourage others with your words!

And I love knowing that not only has Jesus set us free to dance, but He has also set us free to dance on top of adversities, and trials, and pain, and heartache, and bondages... Because of Jesus, those things no longer have power over us! What a beautiful example you are of Jesus turning pain into joy!
I love the scripture that says "You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy!" Psalm 30:11

That scripture, in Psalm 30, is one of my favorites!!!!! Now I have that song, "You've Turned My Mourning in Dancing," going through my head. I think that I will have to go play it while I cook!

Hello everyone!!! I've missed you all and I see that there are so many new names to me here rejoicing and singing! How wonderful!!!

I've caught up on the last few pages to try and get to know some of the new "faces" but I'm getting confused, LOL!

Edie--it's nice to see you. I've been right where you are, my friend about 8 years ago. I have found a new church, a new family and a life that is so much more fulfilling than it was. AND, best of all--I now walk hand in hand with Christ! The Lord just teaches us in so many ways. He knows what He's doing!

Jilly, my Cantata was beautiful--just so unbelievably awesome. People were just sitting there with their mouths open and tears pouring down! The Spirit was just doing mighty things and people were so touched! They're still talking about it! We videoed it and made a CD. I haven't seen or heard them yet though.

There's a free concert somewhere around here on the 7th of June with Rebecca St. James. I'm going to try and go to that!

Best news of all-----I'm getting married! July 14th in Jamaica! I've been in this committed relationship for several years, but we've been unable to share a home because of our committments to our children and financial situations. We still won't be living together except every other weekend I know it sounds strange, but since we have started our walk with the Lord, we know that He wants us to be married legally. We won't be telling the kids for a while and someday, we'll dedicate our marraige in the church and the children will become part of it. We feel this is the most responsible thing.

So many things just happened in the last few weeks, just so much out of the blue and unusual that we knew the Lord was telling us to do this.

So now, the only people I'm sharing my excitement with is you all!

I know sometimes devotionals take one scripture and run with it sometimes but i think this one saying HE is my source and Love is pretty good.
