Hi Guys!!!!
This is the song I'm singing on Sunday in our Easter Cantata. It's sung by Mary Magdelene in the play. She is singing about the forgiveness of Jesus and how she needs to be able to forgive the people who helped put Jesus on the cross.
"Father, forgive them," He cried.
How could He forgive the ones who placed Him there?
"Father, forgive them," but why?
Why would a dying man make this his prayer?
He could have called ten thousand angels,
With just a single prayer.
He could have summoned all of heaven's armies
To his side....and yet....
"Father, forgive them," He cried.
"Today, you will be with me in paradise."
"Father, forgive them," but why?
Why would the shepherd be the lamb, the sacrafice?
When He met me, Jesus looked into my broken heart.
He offered pardon for the sin I'd done.
And through His sweet forgiveness,
I will never be the same.
And now I must forgive another one.
I cannot throw this stone to heal my heart.
I cannot hate the ones who've had a part.
Teach me how to understand,
And share forgiveness too.
Lord let me learn to love them like you do.

There is a song by Newsong, it's an older one, called "Marvelous In Our Eyes". I have the tape around here somewhere but I cannot find it!
All I can remember is the chorus, which I will sing for you but I want the whole song. It's on two different albums, Trophies of Grace and the other is One Heart At A Time which is one of the best albums in the world if I could find the darn thing. So anyway, if one of you knows the song, or can find the lyrics will you please post them? Thank you.
