Lord, I need You to help me do this in my life. I know I spend way to much time reliving the past and wishing there were things that could have been changed, done differently and wondering why. I realize that it is a huge hang up for me and it has an affect on everything in my life by dwelling on things in the past. Help me to live in the here and now and let go of the hurt and anger that tend to engulf my thoughts. Help me to realize that You have brought me through these trials and I'm where You want me to be.

Susie, I just prayed for your friend's family and I know they will need continued prayers. Thanks for sharing here so people could pray. There are many prayer warriors here!!! The loss can be so overwhelming and prayers of His people can bring such comfort when we are faitful to lift up one another!

Tuffcookie, so glad you came! Please post whenever you can. The day my friend Vinny died (July 1, 2004 from cancer at age 38), I heard that song and it was like a gift from God. You posted it on July 1st! I love Chris Rice's songs. I knew Vinny was soaring with Jesus that day and no longer suffering. That song will always bring me to tears and reminds me of him along with Trading my Sorrows and Blessed Be the Name of the Lord (Matt Redman) which were his favorite songs. I thank Jesus for the songs that bring comfort and that remind of of those saints who have gone before us, who are enjoying being in the presence of GOD and JESUS in paradise!!

Lori, HEY!!!!!!! I love that you are here...keep posting your songs!!! Your words are so very kind and I am so glad you posted the songs we sang here. Again, they are reminders to me and everytime I hear/sing those I think of and pray for you and your family.
Keep singing your songs because Your Father sings over you DAILY and asks in return our simple praise back to Him. It pleases Him SO MUCH AND it fills us to overflowing to sing His praises!
I loved your Casting Crowns post "Masquerade" because it is so true and such an honest song. We all have those moments, days, years...I am blessed to be in a church where there is a lot of honesty...but we still all hide, don't we, behind what we think we should be...both in front of the church and in front of the world. I realized, again today, after I read that song that I want...no, I NEED, so MUCH, to be stripped of myself, and like Cristy prayed above, to put the past behind me. Satan wants me bogged down in guilt and fear and wants me to be concerned about things that Jesus has already dealt with, namely...my past, present and future!!! I SO STRUGGLE with daily surrender to Him. I WANT to be honest in that. I get tired of trying to be holy, look holy and act holy when I am WEAK, weak, weak. But when I choose to be weak, I am SO STRONG in the shelter of my Jesus. And when I choose to be self-sufficeint, I fall flat on my face...everytime. I want to encourage those around me that we are all in the same place...sometimes another person has a clearer perspective on where I am than I do at that moment...and then at other times I am the one clarifying for them! What a blessing to be One Body in Christ. May we live today to unite the body and lift up the parts that are hurting and/or accept help when we are the ones in need!

Good morning everyone. We just got home Tuesday from our trip to Louisiana. It was so wonderful to visit with family and friends there. I am currently unpacking and catching up on washing. My oldest DD has a dentist appointment today to have two last baby teeth pulled in preparation for braces. We are praying that she will do fine through the process; she is nervous.
I am behind in reading the posts here. Sorry. Hopefully next week I will have some time to catch up.
I did want to post something quickly, though, that I think you all will enjoy.

When we were down in Louisiana, my husband's uncle shared two videos with us. They were wonderful!!!!!!!!! Since they were so great, I wanted to pass them on.

This first video is the shorter of the two. It is beautiful, powerful, and encouraging. It reminded me of God’s unconditional love, power, and mercy! Praise Him!!!!!!

While we are more into the classical/traditional music we were at my niece's wedding Saturday which was all current Christian music. Very cool!!!

DS returned from his music festival on Sunday. He spent several weeks at a Christian classical music camp/bible camp. He's on fire!!!! It's so great to see the joy in him!!!

Hi everyone!! Just found this GREAT thread!!

Galahad, we have been going to Night Of Joy for the past 4 years and will be going to Saturday's concert this year! It's great. It will be a little different this year because it's the first year that it will be at DHS. We can't wait to see Toby Mac and Casting Crowns. We have seen both in concert and at a previous NOJ and they were just great!

Toby's DVD Alive and Transported is awsome!! We crank the sound and it feels just like we are at the concert.

Have fun at Night of Joy!!!!!! I have always wanted to go to WDW for this event, but it always hits on DD's birthday weekend. Maybe one year we will make it.
It is funny because my youngest DD and I really love contemporary Christian music and praise/worship music.
My oldest DD prefers the classical/traditional music like you.
My DH prefers southern gospel and bluegrass.
So we listen to a little bit of all of it in our home.
