AMEN!!!!:goodvibes

I love the old hymns too! :thumbsup2 Here are a few of my favorites.

How Great Thou Art

O Lord my God when I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made.
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power through out the universe displayed.

Chorus:
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

When through the woods and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze.

And when I think that God His son not sparing,
Sent Him to die I scarce can take it in.
That on the cross my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

When Christ shall come with shouts of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow in humble admiration,
And there proclaim, my God how great Thou art.

OT to this thread but I would still like to mention it. Our pastor is doing a 5 week series based on In a Pit With A Lion On a Snowy Day. The series is based on Benaiah. So far we have focused on recognizing your lion and now facing your lion and trusting God to give you the strength to fight it. I plan to read the book mentioned above.

We have a new amazing pastor who has brought new life to our church. It continues to amaze me each week as the church is packed full of new faces many accepting the Lord for the first time. Our youth attendance has grown dramatically. The Lord is doing amazing things in our small church!

That book sounds great. Thank you for telling us about it. I will have to look for it. I am currently reading The Truth War by John MacArthur. When I finish it I will look for this new book.
Do you know if it is carried in most Christian book stores?

ETA: I just found this book available at CBD. Great!!!! I will have to get it later this summer.

Good morning everyone!
I heard this song this morning. It is a great one! I thought I would sing it with all of you today.

Have a blessed day!

Lion and the Lamb
By Crystal Lewis

Who is He who's the mightiest of all?
Who is He, creation trembles at His call?
Who is He, the lowly sacrifice,
Who paid a victim's price
His name is Jesus

Jesus, from the Father's own right hand
Jesus, Son of God and Son of Man
Jesus, who died and rose again
Jesus, He's the Lion and the Lamb

Who is He with the power none can tame?
Who is He that every foe would fear His name?
Who is He who was humbly led away
To suffer that dark day
His name is Jesus

Jesus, from the Father's own right hand
Jesus, Son of God and Son of Man
Jesus, who died and rose again
Jesus, He's the Lion and the Lamb
He's the Lion and the Lamb

He's the Lamb that was slain,
He's the Lion that reigns;
My Savior and King
Both the same

Who is He with the eyes that burn like fire?
Who is He? Oh, the wonder He inspires
Who is He who bore the guilt and shame
For those who'd gone astray
His name is Jesus

Jesus, from the Father's own right hand
Jesus, Son of God and Son of Man
Jesus, who died and rose again
Jesus, He's the Lion and-
He is Jesus, from the Father's own right hand
Jesus, Son of God and Son of Man
Jesus, who died and rose again
Jesus, He's the Lion and the Lamb
He's the Lion and the Lamb
He's the Lion and the Lamb

This song holds a special place in my heart........it was a real encouragement to me several years ago when I walked through a very rough valley.

Darins - Crosses and Crowns

For those who seek the face of God
For those who call the name of Christ
The road upon this earthly sod
Will someday lead to paradise
We embrace the cross of Calvary
Pressing toward the prize we will receive

CHORUS:
We’re waiting on new wings
Searching an old sky
Praying for the day
We’ll see heaven coming down
There’s a promise land awaiting
But there’s mercy in the meantime
While we’re walking on this ground
Between crosses and crowns

We stumble and we lose our way
We question what we’re doing here
Yet all the time we watch and pray
Wondering if the end is near
So He left us His amazing grace
Until we see Him face to face

CHORUS

BRIDGE:
We’re pilgrims on this mission field
Where the heart gets changed
And the soul gets healed
There’s a purpose in these shadow lands
Between the crowns of gold
And His nail-scarred hands

CHORUS

From Third Days Offerings 2 CD

You said all that follow You may find
Comfort and pain, blessings in hard times
Were I to leave, where else would I go?
The words of life and of truth You hold

All I want is love
I confess to this
I will take it, Lord
All You have to give

Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of Earth
Will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace

And you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself away

All I want is love
And I confess to this
I will take it, Lord
All You have to give
All You have to give
All You have
All You have to give

Your love, oh Lord
Reaches to the heavens
Your faithfulness stretches to the sky
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains
Your justice flows like the ocean's tide

I will lift my voice
To worship You, my King
I will find my strength
In the shadow of Your wings

Your love, oh Lord
Reaches to the heavens
Your faithfulness stretches to the sky

Brandon Heath - I'm Not Who I Was

I wish you could see me now
I wish I could show you how
I'm not who I was
I used to be mad at you
A little on the hurt side too
But I'm not who I was

I found my way around
To forgiving you
Some time ago
But I never got to tell you so

I found us in a photograph
I saw me and I had to laugh
You know, I'm not who I was
You were there, you were right above me
And I wonder if you ever loved me
Just for who I was

When the pain came back again
Like a bitter friend
It was all that I could do
To keep myself from blaming you

I reckon it's a funny thing
I figured out I can sing
Now I'm not who I was
I write about love and such
Maybe 'cause I want it so much
I'm not who I was

I was thinking maybe I
I should let you know
I am not the same
But I never did forget your name
Hello

Well the thing I find most amazing
In amazing grace
Is the chance to give it out
Maybe that's what love is all about

I wish you could see me now
I wish I could show you how
I'm not who I was

Lion of Judah/Robin Mark
Isaiah 11, Revelation 11

You're the Lion of Judah, the Lamb that was slain,
You ascended to heaven and ever more will reign;
At the end of the age when the earth You reclaim,
You will gather the nations before You.
And the eyes of all men will be fixed on the Lamb
Who was crucified,
For with wisdom and mercy and justice You'll reign
At Your Father's side.

And the angels will cry: 'Hail the Lamb
Who was slain for the world, Rule in power.'
And the earth will reply: 'You shall reign
As the King of all kings
And the Lord of all lords.'

There's a shield in our hand and a sword at our side,
There's a fire in our spirits that cannot be denied;
As the Father has told us for these You have died,
For the nations that gather before You.
And the ears of all men need to hear of the Lamb
Who was crucified,
Who descended to hell yet was raised up to reign
At the Father's side.

Hi everyone. A friend shared this with me today, and I wanted to pass it on to you...............

Live your life in such a way that when your eyes open and your feet hit the floor in the morning, Satan shudders and says, "Oh no....she's awake!!'"

Good morning everyone!

I had a wonderful quiet time with my Lord this morning!!!! I found myself singing this song and thought I would share it here. We can all sing it and praise Him together! :thumbsup2

Days of Elijah

These are the days of Elijah
Declaring the Word of the Lord

And these are the days of your servant Moses
Righteousness being restored

And though these are days of great trials
Of famine and darkness and sword

Still we are the voice in the desert crying
Prepare ye the way of the Lord!

Behold He comes! Riding on the clouds!
Shining like the sun! At the trumpet call
Lift your voice! It's the year of Jubilee!
And out of Zion's hill salvation comes!

And these are the days of Ezekiel
The dry bones becoming as flesh

And these are the days of your servant David
Rebuilding a temple of praise

And these are the days of the harvest
The fields are as white in the world

And we are the labourers in your vineyard
Declaring the word of the Lord!

Behold He comes! Riding on the clouds!
Shining like the sun! At the trumpet call
Lift your voice! It's the year of Jubilee!
And out of Zion's hill salvation comes!

There's no God like Jehovah!

There's no God like Jehovah!

There's no God like Jehovah!

There's no God like Jehovah!
(Repeat 3 times)

Behold He comes! Riding on the clouds!
Shining like the sun! At the trumpet call
Lift your voice! It's the year of Jubilee!
And out of Zion's hill salvation comes!

Behold He comes! Riding on the clouds!
Shining like the sun! At the trumpet call
Lift your voice! It's the year of Jubilee!
And out of Zion's hill salvation comes!

And out of Zion's hill salvation comes!

And out of Zion's hill salvation comes!

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday!

Was feeling a little down today so I popped in the Rich Mullins - Here in America CD. Although I can't say that I completely agree with everything he believed, he was such an incredible song writer! This CD is a lot of live clips and he shares a lot of very insightful thoughts. This particular one has been very uplifting to me today.

RICH MULLINS NONE ARE STRONGER [LIVE] LYRICS

("See, I believe that if you were chosen, that if you were elected. I believe if God has anything for you, it's not just to make you happy. God did not choose you and call you out of this world just to make you high. And God didn't choose you and God didn't call you out of this world just so you could be pious. Because there are enough pious people and enough happy people in the world. What God called you for, and what God called you to is to make a difference in the world.

"You know, there are a lot of people who have never heard the gospel of Christ. Somehow, I have a little bit of trouble when I see people spend fifteen, sixteen bucks a hit to hear some flashy Christian group say 'Jesus is Lord' to the tune of fifteen bucks a person when there are people who live not far from here who can't even afford to buy a Bible. And somehow, it seems a little bit weird that we should have more ministers in this country and fewer people, when in the world where there are so many people who would give anything to have a minister, they can't find them, because they're not there, because they're in our country.

"I don't believe that God chose you and blessed you so that you could heap those blessings up upon yourself. I believe God chose you and you and you and every one of you others, because He wants to make a difference in this world. And you know what? What I think is scary about God is He didn't come up with any 'plan B.' That He left the church here, and the church is the only group of people and the church is the only institution in the world that can bring about a change. This government cannot do it, so stop depending on the government. Educational systems cannot do it, so stop trusting educational systems. The church was chosen by God to make a difference.

"And you know what, people? You ain't going to make a difference by building more bombs. And you ain't going to make a difference by putting on more makeup and showing up on more television shows. And you're not going to make a difference by having the loudest P/A or the biggest crowd at your concerts. You're gonna make a difference when you lay down your life, and in complete submission to God, choose to die with Him in service to other people. And I had this great realization one night, and that's when I wrote this song.")

And as I lay me down one evening,
I thought of Jesus on the hill
And how for men He was weeping,
When it was Him they were going to kill
And I know it would have saved them
Had they only just allowed
None are stronger than the humble
And few are weaker than the proud

And then my thoughts, they turned to David,
And how he watched his father's flocks
How the music that he was playing
Could calm the demons in a mighty man's heart
And when the prophet came round looking for a king,
He sought young David out,
'Cause none are stronger than the humble
And few are weaker than the proud

And I know that you know about Moses,
And how he left the Pharoah's courts
When he saw the injustice
Done to the people, the people of the Lord
And though his fears drove him to hiding,
The Lord his heart with courage soon endowed
'Cause none are stronger than the humble
And few are weaker than the proud

And none are stronger than the humble
And few are weaker than the proud

Had to share this video, for my song for the thread I'll add in

Blessed Assurance
Jesus is mine!
O! What a Foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit,
Washed in His Blood.

This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long;
this is my story, this is my son,
Praising my Savior all the day long

Wonderful science class/testimony on youtube...
It will surely move you!

Tara - there is a sticky at the top (2nd line) of the first page for prayer request. But lots of times people will just start their own thread. I'll pray for you!

Be With You - Rich Mullins

"Everybody each and all
We're gonna die eventually
It's no more or less our faults
Than it is our destiny
So now Lord I come to you
Asking only for Your grace
You know what I've put myself through
All those empty dreams I chased

And when my body lies in the ruins
Of the lies that nearly ruined me
Will You pick up the pieces
That were pure and true
And breathe Your life into them
And set them free?

And when You start this world over
Again from scratch
Will You make me anew
Out of the stuff that lasts
Stuff that's purer than gold is
And clearer than glass could ever be
Can I be with You?
Can I be with You?

And everybody all and each
From the day that we are born
We have to learn to walk beneath
Those mercies by which we're drawn
And now we wrestle in the dark
With these angels that we can't see
We will move on although with scars
Oh Lord move inside of me

And when my body lies in the ruins
Of the lies that nearly runied me
Will You pick up the pieces
That were pure and true
And breathe Your life into them
And set them free?

And when You blast this cosmos
To kingdom come
When those jagged-edged mountains
I love are gone
When the sky is crossed with the tears
Of a thousand falling suns
As they crash into the sea
Can I be with you?
Can I be with you?"

Tara, I will pray for you also.

live4christp1, thanks for your Rich Mullins post. I never had the chance to see him live. Honestly, I have never heard any live songs/CDs so I have never heard him speak. All of his songs are great though!!!!!!!!!!! As a matter of fact, DH just bought me an IPod for my combined Mother's Day/birthday gift. I downloaded music to it this past weekend. I have many Rich Mullins songs! I just listened to Deliverer this morning!
I think I will add that one to the thread. It is so good!!!!!!!!!

My Deliverer
By Rich Mullins

Joseph took his wife and her child, and they went to Africa
To escape the rage of a deadly king
There along the banks of the Nile, Jesus listened to the song
That the captive children used to sing
They were singin'

My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
He will never break His promise - He has written it upon the sky
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by

Through a dry and thirsty land, water from the Kenyon heights
Pours itself out of Lake Sangra's broken heart
There in the Sahara winds Jesus heard the whole world cry
For the healing that would flow from His own scars
The world was singing

My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
I will never doubt His promise though I doubt my heart, I doubt my eyes
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by

My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
He will never break His promise though the stars should break faith with the sky
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by

I'm praying too Tara!

Kutless - Strong Tower

When I wonder through the desert
And I'm longing for my home
All my dreams have gone astray
When I'm stranded in the valley
And I'm tired and all alone
It seems like I've lost my way

I go running to Your mountain
Where Your mercy sets me free

You are my strong tower
Shelter over me
Beautiful and mighty
Everlasting King
You are my strong tower
Fortress when I'm weak
Your name is true and holy
And Your face is all I seek

In the middle of my darkness
In the midst of all my fear
You're my refuge and my hope
When the storm of life is raging
And the thunder's all I hear
You speak softly to my soul

You are my strong tower
Shelter over me
Beautiful and mighty
Everlasting King
You are my strong tower
Fortress when I'm weak
Your name is true and holy
And Your face is all I seek

How Could I Ask for More
By Cindy Morgan

There's nothing like the warmth of a summer afternoon
Waking to the sunlight, and being cradled by the moon
Catching fireflies at night
Building castles in the sand
Kissing Mama's face goodnight
Holding Daddy's hand
Thank you Lord, how could I ask for more

Running barefoot through the grass
A little hide and go seek
Being so in love, that you can hardly eat
Dancing in the dark, when there's no one else around
Being bundled 'neath the covers, watching snow
Fall to the ground
Thank you Lord, how could I ask for more

So many things I thought would bring me happiness
Some dreams that are realities today
Such an irony the things that mean the most to me
Are the memories that I've made along the way

So if there's anything I've learned
From this journey I am on
Simple truths will keep you going
Simple love will keep you strong
Cause there are questions without answers
Flames that never die
Heartaches we go through are often blessings in disguise
So thank you Lord, oh thank you Lord
How could I ask for more

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytIEoSH6qrE

Tara, I just prayed for you. I'm so glad you felt free to ask.

You guys, these songs are awesome! And thanks for the youtube clips, as well.

Jesus loves me this I know
For the Bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong
They are weak
But He is strong!

Yes Jesus loves me
Yes Jesus loves me
Yes Jesus loves me
The Bible tells me so

I sing this song with our children every day. It's part of our little routine. And they love it! It blesses my heart to hear our 2 year old try to say all of the words to the verse and then belt out YEAH JESUS LOVES MEEEEEE. Then our son, who is 13 months puckers his lip and belts out really low, manly "oooh ooooooh oooooh" to the beat of the song.

I believe it blesses the Father's heart to hear His children sing, too. :)

Tara, I want you to know that I have been praying for you each day.

JC2, your post made me smile. How precious!!!!!!! I agree with you. I do believe that our Father smiles when His children sing!!!!!!! :goodvibes

I know that I posted that DH got me an IPod last week. After downloading all of my old CDs, I had such fun going on ITunes to purchase some songs. Of course, I looked for my old favorites, from my youth days. Most of these were songs that I only heard on the radio or songs that I had on cassette. I have not been able to listen to them in years. My heart has been blessed as I have been able to listen to them again now.
So if you notice that the ones I am posting now are a bit older, that is why. I have been enjoying some "oldies but goodies." :thumbsup2

This one still makes me cry with thankfulness each time I hear it. I know that Phillips, Craig, and Dean have a remake/newer version of it. However, I still prefer Benny Hester's version.

When God Ran
By: Benny Hester

Almighty God,
The Great I Am
Immoveable Rock,
Omnipotent powerful

Awesome Lord,
Victorious Warrior
Mighty Conquerer,
Commanding King of Kings
And the only time,
the only time I ever saw Him run
Was when

He ran to me,
Took me in His arms, held my head to His chest
And said "My son's come home again".
Looked in my face, wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice
He said "Son, do you know I still love you?"

It caught me by surprise when God ran

The day I left Home,
I knew I'd broken His heart
I wondered if
Things would ever be the same,

Then one night,
I remembered His love for me
And down that dusty road, ahead I could see
It was the only time,
the only time I ever saw Him run

Was when He ran to me,
Took me in His arms, held my head to His chest
And said "My son's come home again".
Looked in my face, wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice
He said "Son, do you know I still love you?"

It caught me by surprise, It dropped me to my knees
When God ran

Bridge
Holy God, Righteous One
Who turned my way
Now I know, You've been waiting
For this day
