CHOCOLATE!!! What is wrong with me?

When I first gave up Coke, I gained weight because I had major sweet cravings. Chocolate, candy anything sweet - I was eating like crazy. It eventually subsided- but I had always thought most people lost weight when they gave up sodas. Once again I do the opposite of what I would have expected.

That's what happened to me too! I quit drinking pop last week and instead of losing weight like I had previously when I quit, I gained. :headache: Lately I can't get enough of those chewy mini sweetarts. Target has them on sale right now, and I must have at least 6 or 7 bags at home.

Both my dh and I have been craving chocolate like crazy....our nightly dessert has been a homemade batch of brownies with a Symphony bar melted in them. They are so good!!! I walk 4 miles in an hour almost everyday just so that I can eat my chocolate!!

I honestly can't believe you're posting this!!!! For 3 weeks now I have had the exact same craving and almost posted it here on the DIS!!

Obviously, at 60 and widowed, I can rule out pregnancy - and I went through menopuase at 48..:rotfl:

Anyhow, I have been eating six regular size Hershey bars a day - more if I can get my hands on them.. Tonight DD went to CVS and bought me 3 packages of the Hershey's Solid Chocolate Bunny Bars (6 to a pack) and I've eaten 3 bars already!!

I'm not even a "fan" of candy! :confused3 What the heck? And it has to be straight, solid chocolate - not cake, cupcakes, ice cream, etc..

This is just too weird that we're both suffering from this same craving at the same time..

And NO - I haven't gained a darn single ounce from it - which I really could use..:headache:

This is just too strange....:eek::eek::eek:

Weird, me too. I'm a chocoholic anyway, it's my coffee, but have been craving it more this week. I think I'm just being a sucker for the "promises" inside the wrapper, even though I've gotten the same one five times in a row :)

Florida!! We can make a trip to WDW, eating chocolate the whole way there, while we're at it! :rotfl:

I'll meet you there you say when I can get there in 30 mins....YES very blessed ...:surfweb: you know what's really good hot chocolate & then mix in a little International Delight coffee creamer Hershey's Chocolate Caramel...:scared1: I just felt my a$$ grow 2 "'s typing that :rotfl2:

I used to be a major choco-holic (ate half a bag of Hershey kisses in one sitting once). Now I eat sugar free chocolate, not quite the same taste, but I eat less chocolate now.

Im a chocoholic too. Ive been trying to do a sugar detox for weeks but can't seem to motivate myself to actually start it. Im thinking of calling Dr. Oz for an intervention on myself :rotfl2: Actually for me everytime I stop drinking Pepsi I stop craving the sugar, but I love me some Pepsi. It's also not easy to walk into a store and have pounds of chocolate at your fingertips on Easter displays!

yeah, those Easter candy displays are a killer. chocolate bunnies, chocolate eggs, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate.... I usually don't 'crave' it, but there is something to this time of year- hmmmm. couldn't be that it's sitting EVERYWHERE I go could it?

I tried to give up Coke (my most favorite thing on earth!) but then I end up eating chocolate at lunch time. Definitly some truth to what you are all talking about!

Pooh: We're probably buying chocolate at the same Walmart! I'm about 15 miles from the racetrack and work about 5 minutes away from it!!

:faint: Symphony is my favorite type of crack... I mean, chocolate. :rolleyes1 Too bad I made brownies yesterday! Oh well, I guess I can make more tomorrow! :rotfl:

C.Ann... THAT is a lot of chocolate! What in the world is wrong with us!!! So far *knock on wood* I don't think I have gained either!

It must be the weather. Tonight I made brownies from scratch, and ate so much of the batter before I baked it that I had to make frosting so my family wouldn't know how thin the brownies were.

(the brownies baked in 9 minutes they were so little)

and the bad thing, I'm very sensitive to caffeine and usually avoid chocolate, so this is probably going to make me sicker than a dog tonight

;)It is my understanding that some chocolate cravings come from a magnesium deficiency. I say it sounds like a good medical condition that requires an immediate fix!;)

Me too....You will love them in brownies too. Just after you pour your brownie mixture into your pan to bake, gently nestle a giant Symphony bar down into the batter and bake as usual....sooo good!

Does it spread out, or do I break it up? :confused3 I am SOOOOOO doing this tomorrow!

You can break it up into squares or leave it one whole piece(it melts but it doesn't mix into the batter)...... just nestle it down enough to spread the batter back over it. Let us know how you like it!!!
