Well the chairs have gone now, and it really does make you feet and legs ache at the end of a 12 hour shift. The reason we have been given for them going is we must be moving at all times! Now they want us to work the weekend at christmas that they gave us off, its going to be the last year with christmas shut down and people want to enjoy it (I am going to Norway and booked holidays, go to work or snorkel with killer whales, which would you do? will not be working next year either booked 7 days holiday to have a 2 week christmas holiday!) but people are so cross about the chairs going and the fact that they are not offering a day off in leu for working that they have got very few volunteers. In fact several have said they will only do it if the chairs come back. Way to go managers with the you scratch our backs and we will stab you in the back in return.

:rolleyes1 popcorn::

I feel for you, when management do unreasonable things they do not get the best from their workforce..why do they not understand this? :confused3

Hope you have a good trip regardless :banana:

DW always has to work boxing day drives me mad.plus its at next so you know she has to start early out of house at 4 am to start serving the madness at 5am

What do you do at Weetabix where you need to stand and keep moving all the time?

Its mainly machine minding, on the batchers its making sure the biscuits don't clogg up, the tables just making sure that the biscuits stay in spec. As I said its making sure the machines keep running, none of which can't be done without sitting down, but we are supposed to move at all time :confused3 well apart from the supervisors who are allowed to sit down in their offices.

Do you know what... If I were you I would look for something else, I am sure that you would be able to get a job elsewhere where you don't have the worry that you do with Weetabix. I have read your posts before re the chairs situation and it's just unreasonable for them to expect you to stand for 12 hours, esp now that they have taken the chairs in the staff room as well. Have a good trip though and try not to worry about work.

DH used to work xmas day sometimes (tesco) and it used to drive me mad! Who seriously wants to go shopping on Christmas day??
