Chips Ahoy: Big & Soft

Bleeeh!
Is this really the best they can do? I received a free sample. It's supposed to be like Chips Ahoy, but soft & chewy. I can't believe that a team of people sat in their cooking lab, came up with this cookie & approved it.

Have they even tried a bag of Pepperidge Farm chocolate chips cookies? Did they instead, purposely try to come up with the worst cookie dough they could develop?
