Child Swap with Autistic 2 yr old

I'm trying to find out for a friend of mine about child swap with an autistic 2 year old. She's wondering if they'll be able to wait somewhere more quiet and less crowded than the queue with the child?

She would get a GAC from guest services at any park. The GAC would be stamped that she needs a seperate area to wait. Also she would get a "Stroller as a Wheelchair" tag so she could take the stroller into any building, ride line, show line or parade viewing area as a wheelchair even if strollers are not allowed. Not all rides and shows hae a seperate area to wait especially in older places like MK.

That "Stroler as a Wheelchair" tag and GAC stamp would thus allow the child to hide in her stroller and get a bit of breathing from people around her. Spectrum kids seem to like the privacy of a stroller even as they are older and it gives them a buffer zone. Give her some worry beads or other things to fidget with while in line.

Baby Swapping pass is available on many rides and one adult would babysit the littler kids while everyone rides. The babysitter then takes one and rarely two people with them on the ride. Procedure may be different for each ride so check with the CM greeter for more information.

For the attractions with rider swap, the child must be under the height requirement, and thus the child would not be allowed to be in the queue anyways, so they don't need a quieter place to wait.

For attractions without a height requirement, you'd have to talk to the CM at the entrance, as technically there is no rider swap available. The CMs would be able to decide what would work best at that time, for that attraction.

just agreeing with the other posters and if you have not looked at the disABILITIES FAQs thread, I would suggest you read post #6 of that thread, which is about Guest Assistance Cards (GACs).
