We have never had the need for child swap so I have no idea how it works. This trip we will be with a family who has a four year old. Unfortunately, his height is only 38" and he will miss some of the height requirements. I know both his parents will want to ride so how does it work?

TIA!!

Each ride handles it differently so the best thing to do is head to each ride and ask the CM at the entrance to the line how they do it.

Most rides now have a special fastpass they give for child swap. Its good all day for up to 3 people. Some rides have you swap at the ride and some others have you swap at the exit.

Sometimes if the child is tall enough but doesn't want to ride, they'll have the child go in the line and do the swapping at the ride itself.

What we normally do as a family of 4, with a DD who is afraid of all the big thrill rides, is at a ride we love like Rockin Roller coaster, we run and get 4 fastpasses (even though DD won't ride, we'll use her fastpass for another turn on the ride!) then we talk to the CM and get the special fastpass.

First, one parent goes with older DD on RnR with 2 fastpasses. Then second parent goes on RnR with older DD with last 2 fastpasses. Then one of the parents takes the 'special' parent swap fastpass and older DD gets to go yet again!

HOpe this helps!

Essentially the group that is going to ride the ride first will enter and let the CM at the entrance know that they are doing a child swap. They will be given what essentially is a FP to get in line. When the group exits the ride the person who stayed w/ the child can enter the line usually through the FP entrance. They get to take someone w/ them to enjoye the ride. I am not sure how many though? Hopefully someone can answer for us. We had a group of 6 when we used it. We basically put 4 through, then the other 2 would ride w/ the baby swap.
This only works for rides the child doesn't meet the height requirements for.

Thanks. I think the only rides they will need to swap on are the ones where he doesn't meet the requirement. I can't believe he misses that 40" mark by such a small amount. Oh well, now they have an excuse to plan another trip!
