Child swap at DLR vs at WDW?

I've used child swap at WDW many times, but I want to know if it works the same way at DLR. First, at WDW the child swap ticket usually doesn't expire on the day that it is issued and is good for a couple of days, so you can use it on a different day during your stay. And second, it is good for 3-4 people.

So, my first question is, does the child swap at DLR has to be used on the day that it is issued or is it good for a couple of days? And if it has to be used on the same day, can it be used at anytime of the day or it has to be on back to back rides?

And my second question is, is it good for 3-4 people or only for 2 people?

DD5 will not be able to ride Indiana, California Screamin and Maliboomer, but DS14 and DS9 want to ride them many times. I was hoping DH could ride with both boys one time and I could ride again with both boys a second time using a child swap, just as we do at WDW. I do know I can always maximize the use of fastpass getting some for one ride and some for another, but it's just another way to get more rides.

Thanks

My understanding is that child swap will allow 2 people, not more than that, to go on the attraction. In this way, one parent/guardian would stay with the child, and then be able to go on the attraction without having to wait in a long line again. Though the parent/guardian can then take someone else (older child, etc) on the attaction, it's not meant to be used as a shortcut for people to ride multiple times without having to wait in line.

I've never heard of it being used that way at Disneyland.

They are good for two people and we have used them any time of day, there is no set return time.

When we used it at DL with my DSD and DGD, we told the CM at the beginning of the line that we were doing a child swap. They gave my DSD a card, I think, and had her wait with my DGD at the exit of the ride or the disabled entrance (seems like it depended on the ride -- we used it for the HM, ST, BTRR, Soarin', Screamin', not sure what else). Then when I exited the ride, I let the CM know we were waiting to swap, we traded off my DGD, and then my DSD got on the ride with little or no wait.

I remember hearing that it was good for more than two people to ride...

And I've NEVER heard of it being used on a subsequent day, not even when I read the WDW boards!

The one thing that DLR has allowed, at least in the past, is the use of both FP and the swap pass, and I've read that WDW does NOT allow that. For instance, you have a FP to Indy, so the group goes to the FP line, gets a switch pass for the non-riding person (who then goes away with the non-rider kids), the riders hand over their FPs. Then the second rider goes back through the exit or FP line, whichever the CMs are using for rider switch that day, with their pass. The second riding adult doesn't need a FP. At WDW I've read that all riders need a FP.

Anyway, that's how it's worked for us...

But DS can go on most everything now, and the things he can't go on, DH and I use Single Rider for now. :)

I have used the child swap pass the day after I got it (oops!!) the cm didn't say a word... we got it for Splash the night before, and there was no time for me to go after dh went, so I went the next day and used it. Not saying that will happen every time, but it was okay for me!

So does it have a date on it? At WDW they do have a date printed, and last year I got some that had a date 3 days after the day it was issued. As I said, this was last year and I don't know if this was for all the parks and all the rides, but at least that's how it was for the rides that I asked for one.

No, it was just a colored piece of paper, had the ride name... I don't remember what else, it looked well used. No date... I had initially thought that they color coded it (green for today, blue for tomorrow) or something, so they would question me when I used it the next day, but they didn't say a word.

We've always used our child swap tickets for one adult and 2 children - never had a problem. I believe they do change the color everyday, but we haven't tried using them on the next day. If so, that would be great. BTMRR is our DD6 and DS4's favorite, requiring 3 - 5 rides per day to keep them happy. Combining generous use of fast passes and child swap tickets (DD2 can't ride) allows us to meet their strict requirements without spending too much time in line.
