Child Frequent Flyer

My DD is 9 years old. We travel alot and I got her a frequent flyer card when she was 4. She has accumulated enough miles for a free ticket. Since you cannot transfer the miles from one account to another (I wanted to book both of our tickets on the same reservation), I will have to redeem her free ticket from her account, then book my ticket from my account. My ticket is straight forward, 1 adult ticket. How do I book her ticket? She is a child, but she will not be traveling alone. Do I select adult even though she is only 9?

It would probably be a good idea to call the airline when you go to book the flights. Otherwise there might not be an award ticket available on the flight you want. They should be able to link your records together.

I just got off the phone with them. It can't be done online, but they said it wouldn't be a problem having everyone on the same reservation. I have to make the reservation over the phone, though. Thanks Safetymom.

I had no problem booking my 8 year old DD using her FF miles online. We booked Spring Break 2 adults and 1 child. I had to book them all separately. We have had 2 flight changes already and whenever I call to make sure we are confirmed and seated together I just have to have everyone's confirmation # or FF miles number.

On the Delta web sight you do not pick adult or child.
