Chicks and Roosters...part 2

Hi Will. It's nice to see you again. How is school going for you? I bet your Mom is busy now with her new job. Does she like teaching? Tell her we said hi.

school is going great. she likes her job alot more now since they got rid of all the bad kids that acted up. she will be home in maybe a half hour ill try and have her get on when she get here. hows it been going with u? anything exciting happen while i was gone?

Good morning all!

Susan, stay safe.
Nice to see you Will!

We have friends coming over for dinner. Not much else going on.
I just like the feel of Fridays - and Saturday mornings with my coffee. :)

Joanne should I ask you if you cooked dinner last night? What did your DH make are did you take your friends out to dinner?

Happy Saturday! We are finally having a fall like day. Upper 50's, sunny and a little breezy. It seems like I've been waiting so long for a nice day like today.

Susan I saw the fires on the news this morning. How's it going?

Susan, let us know what's going on with you. I hear on the news that conditions are improving and that firefighters are getting the upper hand, but that kind of macro-level progress report doesn't necessarily mean much if you know people affected by the fires. Give us a post when you can.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. For sports, my weekend was awful. Kentucky basketball lost 111-103 to Virginia Military Academy on Friday night, at Rupp Arena. I watched that on TV and was crestfallen.

I actually went to the Saturday night game for the football cats versus Vanderbilt. Yep, UK lost to Vandy. It was an awful game, made worse by having to watch it in bitterly cold and windy conditions.

Then yesterday, I watched my Cincinnati Bungles try to steal a win from the Eagles. I didn't really expect a win, but what I got for my nearly 4 hours of football watching was possibly even worse: a TIE! A TIE ?!?!?!? I didn't even know those still existed anymore in the NFL. It was the first game to end in a tie since 2002, and the first Bungles tie since 1969. Even a loss might have been better, since at least one team would have gotten out of there with a win. No, couldn't have that. Had to waste thousands of people's time, money and Sunday with that game. Ugh.

Kentucky is playing (basketball) at North Carolina tomorrow night. I don't expect a win, but I at least hope it's competitive. That would brighten the sports picture considerably for me locally.

Susan, how are you doing?

Triciia, You know me too well, of course Cliff cooked.:rotfl:
He made chicken cordon bleu. It was very good. I ate so much this weekend but it was worth it.

Grim, do you like all the big sports?

Good morning! Sorry I was late getting here this morning. Everything is looking better with the local fires. The one that was burning here on Friday afternoon was contained pretty quickly. The Santa Barbara fire is 80% (or better) contained and I don't think any more homes are in danger.

I talked to the mother of one of the professors at Westmont College (my alma mater) who said his house was the only one standing in his little neighborhood of faculty housing. some of the pictures show the immaculate gardens right next to scorched land. Incredible. About 50 students lost their dorms as well.

The fires that are burning farther south are still raging in some places. I don't know the current status. I'm supposed to be going to Disneyland on Wednesday so it will be interesting to see how things go. It's getting cooler again, and I know we aren't dealing with the Santa Ana winds right now but they might still be in LA. It's a tough year, we haven't had any significant rain.

Other than that, things were quiet this weekend. I got a lot done at home, even though I have a lot more to do. It's never ending isn't it?

Good morning everyone. Sorry about my absence yesterday but I had one of the worst headache's of my life. It started Sunday evening and I still had it last night with a sore neck. I finally threw up one time then started feeling better immediately. :confused3 Today I feel as if I'm walking on egg shells because I don't want it to come back. It's so not like me to just lay around all day but that's exactly what I did yesterday. I had an ice pack on my head and a heating pad on my neck. Quite a sight to see I'm sure. :sad2: Anyway today I'm better so I need to play catch up around the house. Plenty of this :laundy: to do for sure.

Good morning all

Susan, glad to see you're okay. Get ready for the DL and have a great time! You deserve it!!

Tricia, sorry to hear you were sick. Don't over do it or that nasty headache could come back!! I hope you feel better as the day goes on. :flower3:

Good morning!

Tricia, I hope you are feeling better! I have migraines on occasion and know that feeling. Take it slow today and don't do too much.

Snow? Wow. It's supposed to be 90 today.

I may have to delay my Disneyland trip by a day. My mother has been having trouble with her staff at work. We'll figure it out tonight. I'm not too worried about it.

I'm off for a couple of days! I'll check in as soon as I get back from hanging with the West Coast mouse!

Susan enjoy your trip.

I think I thought I was better yesterday and it came back. :headache: Today I'm taking it real easy because that headache was a killer.

I'm back to the land of the living today. :cool1: Headache is gone and I'm going to do a little Christmas shopping today. :santa:

Good morning!

Susa, sorry I missed you, I hope you have a great time!

Tricia, nice to see you're back living with us. ;)
Where are you going Christmas shopping? Do you go BF?

I used to but I don't have anything to buy this year. I may sleep in till 6,then go out.

Joanne any time I don't go out on Black Friday I really feel like I missed something. I know it's crazy out there but all the hustle and bustle gets me in the holiday spirit. I'm not really on a hunt this year for anything special but Kendall (middle daughter) loves getting up at 4 AM with me and hitting the shops. Kelsie on the other hand would rather sleep until noon.

Well it's Joanne's favorite day of the week. Yes it's

.

Susan I hope you are having a blast in DisneyLand. I'm sure the weather must be great in sunny California.

Today I'm going to start wrapping the Christmas gifts that I have. Even though my kids don't believe in you know who I still don't like them to see what they are getting.

Good Morning.

Grim we haven't seen you in a while. I wonder if you got blocked again at work. :scratchin

Susan are you back from Disney yet? I'm looking forward to hearing all the details especially since I've never been to DisneyLand and I know they have some things that Disney World doesn't.

Joanne how's the Christmas shopping going? I'm going off with my mom and two sisters today. I hope to scratch off lots of names.
