Susan, let us know what's going on with you. I hear on the news that conditions are improving and that firefighters are getting the upper hand, but that kind of macro-level progress report doesn't necessarily mean much if you know people affected by the fires. Give us a post when you can.
I hope everyone had a good weekend. For sports, my weekend was awful. Kentucky basketball lost 111-103 to Virginia Military Academy on Friday night, at Rupp Arena. I watched that on TV and was crestfallen.
I actually went to the Saturday night game for the football cats versus Vanderbilt. Yep, UK lost to Vandy. It was an awful game, made worse by having to watch it in bitterly cold and windy conditions.
Then yesterday, I watched my Cincinnati Bungles try to steal a win from the Eagles. I didn't really expect a win, but what I got for my nearly 4 hours of football watching was possibly even worse: a TIE! A TIE ?!?!?!? I didn't even know those still existed anymore in the NFL. It was the first game to end in a tie since 2002, and the first Bungles tie since 1969. Even a loss might have been better, since at least one team would have gotten out of there with a win. No, couldn't have that. Had to waste thousands of people's time, money and Sunday with that game. Ugh.
Kentucky is playing (basketball) at North Carolina tomorrow night. I don't expect a win, but I at least hope it's competitive. That would brighten the sports picture considerably for me locally.
