Chicken boy went on the thrill rides and begged to go again!!! **Updated 1/14!!)

We had b'fast at Boma on our last trip, and loved it so we're heading there again this coming trip :) That's great that everything worked out even with being late, and that you didn't have a long wait:thumbsup2
Can't wait to hear more, loving your PTR!

I loved Boma!! I need to find my way back there! Last year we were late for every single ADR and never had issues getting into the restaurant but never was our wait only 5 minutes! What great pixie dust!!!

I think it is great how Liam makes friends so easily! My DD always has and at times it really adds to the experiences!

I always have a fear of leaving my key in the room! Or losing it somewhere! I think I check it constantly to be sure it is where it belongs!

I agree about Boma, we will definatly need to find our way back to Boma.:woohoo: The funny thing is we were early/on time for all our other ADR's and ended up waiting longer than we did for Boma. Someone must have known we were really hungry.:rotfl2:

I definatly have some great memories from our trip from the friends Liam made during our trip. And trust me there were alot. I even had to explain that not everyone wanted to talk to him when some people ignored him.:confused3

That wasn't the only time we had KTTW problems (you'll find out about the other soon) but WDW is really good about getting you another one, it just takes time our of your day.:thumbsup2

Boma for breakfast. . have to put that one on my list. I am glad you like the TR, I should be adding and update tomarrow. Been kind of busy at home.:)

Food looks yummy!

The food was definatly as good as it looks. Super yummy!!! I found a recipe for the soup on line and think I might have to try it.:rolleyes1

So sorry that I haven't updated in a couple of days, things have been super busy. It was Aidan's birthday (my 3rd child) on Sunday and we had a lot of fun taking him to Great America the day before and after his birthday. I hope to include a small TR of our trip on Sat. tomarrow as well.

I unfortunatly got a bad sun burn yesterday (forgot sunblock:headache:) and am hurting today. (Yes I learned my leason Singledad). And today I spent the day at the hospital with my dad who had a minor procedure to help him with his dialosis. We didn't get out of there until almost 5pm.

I just got home on Sunday 6/12 and was finally able to get the laundry caught up.....whhoohooo! :woohoo: Now I, hopefully, will be settling in and getting my DIS fix. So glad you already started on your TR. Cannot wait to read more.popcorn::

We had the same issue with transportation on arrival day. Glad they could get you in quickly!
Can't wait to hear what you did that night at MK!

Well, we were early or just on time for all our ADR's and we never had much of a wait. I was pretty happy about it! In fact, I kicked myself later for seeing if we could get into Sci-fi an hour early, because I was thinking maybe 5:30 rather than 6pm... we didn't even sit down before they called us! :rolleyes1 This would not have been a problem if DD wasn't still soaking wet. :headache: Bad dad, bad! More on that in my TR when I finally update it.

:lmao: and yes, I am glad you put that in there... you know I am a nag! :thumbsup2

Hope the procedure went well! of course, a large part of me wants to ask for more details.. what was it, a fistula, peritoneal catheter... permacath? what? But that is just my nosy side. Please feel free to ignore it.

Luckily everything workded out great, and if it didn't. . . Well we were at Disney. I am going to post a short TR of our GA adventure and than post about MK. Hope you enjoy.

We never had to wait long for our ADR's either. I think the longest we waited was 15 min, and I looked at my watch it was actually the time our ADR was for so no complaints. It is just that we were 30 min late for are Boma ADR and we got in in less than 5 min.:confused3

No big deal. He had a fistula in his left arm. He says he now has some sexy scars to show off the girls.:lmao:

So as I mentioned yesterday, we went to Six Flags Great America on Sat for Aidan's birthday and I wanted to share some pics here of the great time we had.:thumbsup2

The day didn't start off to well, for Mia in such a rush to grab a park map (I really don't need one because I worked there for 5 years) she tripped over the front wheel stroller and skined both of her knees. So our first stop was first aid so we could get here knees cleaned up and bandaged.

After that was done we headed to Guest Services to get Aidan a Button for his birthday. Yes they have a button for birthdays, but it just says I'm Celebrating at Six Flags with a picture of Bugs Bunny on it.:confused3 Since Liam's birthday button was still on the stroller he decided to put it on (funny he never wanted to wear it a Disney) and got several birthday wishes. (The Disney Magic continues.:lmao:)

We started walking around and saw our first character. At first nobody wanted to go see him, but I finally convinced Aidan to get a picture and than Liam wanted one. I still had no luck with Mia.

Next we headed to Wiggles World. . .or at least it used to be called Wiggles World, but I guess they lost the Copyright privlages and it is now called Kidopolis. It is the same thing with a new paint job, new names on the rides, and all Wiggles stuff removed.

There is also a new show there called Kidz Connection. We were one of the first people there but he was the last kid chosen for the show. It is kind of a quiz show for kids, but some of the questions seem a little hard. I didn't even know some of them. Such as what is a baby swan called?:confused3
GreatAmerica2011014.jpg

GreatAmerica2011019.jpg

We finally decided to leave and go to the ball room at the Bugs Bunny National Park, only to find out that it no longer existed. It was replaced by go carts that you have to pay an extra to ride. I tried to see if the kids wanted to do the Little Dipper rollercoaster, but no one was intrested. So we kept waking and found one of Aidan's favorite characters. . .or at least a statue of him.:lmao:

They also found some great hats they wanted to try.:thumbsup2

This last pic Mia wanted me to take, and as you can see I caught Aidan being naughty in the back round.:lmao:

So I am finally back to catch up all up on what happened on Day 1.

As you saw from from an earlier post we had decided to go to MK.
There were many reasons we decided to go to MK first.

1) It is the home to my favorite ride, THe Haunted Mansion. I am only 29 minutes away from a theme park that has many thrill rides (though you can't surpass the way that Disney combines stories with the rides. Even if you can't always see them.:goodvibes), but I just love the rides that Disney has termed the Dark Rides. HM is definatly my favorite.:thumbsup2

2) Today Mk had EMH so we figured we could get some rides in while the crowds were low. We knew we wouldn't be able to stay until the end 2 am, but figured we could make it until midnight (11 pm our time). Unfortunatly this thought got a little messed up when the hours changed from an 11pm closing to a midnight closing with EMH going to 3 am.:confused3

3) As most of you would probably agree with, where is the perfect place to start your Walt Disney World Vacation? Magic Kingdom!!!:cool1:

So with a full belly and a smile on our lips we headed to our bus to MK. We waited a little over 5 min before our bus arrived and we were headed to the most magical place at Walt Disney World. Or at least in my opinion.:thumbsup2

By the time we had rode underneath the arch anouncing that we were entering Magic Kingdom Park we were nearly jumping out of our skin with excitement. :jumping1: Even though we had been at WDW for a couple of hours already, it felt as if our vacation was truely starting.

We got off the bus and headed to the check bag area with no problems. It wasn't until I approached the gate to get in that I relized that I had made a mistake. Being new to KTTW cards it didn't accure to me until that moment that Liam needed his card to get in the park, I was just thinking it was a room key. Luckily the CM directed us to Guest Services so that we didn't have to go all the way back to Pop.:woohoo:

While we were at Guest services I went ahead and asked for a GAC for Liam. I was suprise that they only asked for his name and our party size. No question at all for what we needed it for. I love the fact that Disney is so trusting in this, I just hope that people are not taking advantage of this trust.

Within minutes we were going through the front gate and heading under the tunnels. Of course I got a lump in my throat and a little teary eyes when I saw this beautiful sight in the distance.

WaltDisneyWorld2011004.jpg

We decided to go on the train first, it seemed like a nice way to ease into the excitement. Plus we had missed out on riding it the last time (it had already closed) and we didn't want to miss out. Plus it is one of our favs at GA. Nice and relaxing. I was nice to see some of the posters up for the Fantasy Land expansion.
DSC05518.jpg

While we were on the train they announced that there was two showing of MSEP that night, I immidiatly decided to go to the second one hoping that it would be less crowded. After getting off the train we stopped back at GR to get a stamp on the GAC for using the stroller as a wheelchair. For those who did not read my PTR, Liam has Cystic Fibrosis that affects his lungs, degestive system, as well as other things. While he doesn't need a wheelchair in normal life, so much walking could tier him out enough to weaken his immume system and land him in the hospital with a lung infection. Our rule for this trip was not to end it with a hospital stay.:thumbsup2

After our trip around the park on the Train, we decided to head to Futureland and hit a few rides first. Before we headed off from the hub I took this picture.
WaltDisneyWorld2011005.jpg

As we headed over the bridge to Future land I aske a CM just to make sure that there was in fact two showing of MSEP that night. I would have hated to miss the parade because of wrong information. He assured me there was two that night and we headed off toward Future World.

The first thing that we decided to do was Monsters Inc. Laung Floor. It was something we both missed last time and definatly on our list for thing to do this time.
IMG_0586.jpg

We both agreed that the show was great. We loved how they continued to pick on the same guy who was just a riot. And though they did not come to us during the show, they did go to a family who was sitting right behind us with a little girl dressed as a princess and a little boy dressed as a pirate. They were to cute.

Next we headed toward the Buzz Lightyear ride. Liam really enjoyed this ride the last time we were there, but I didn't get to ride so I was looking foward to it this time. I showed the CM the GAC card and they directed me toward the FP lane. During our 5 minute wait Liam made friends with a couple of kids infront of us. He even ended up trading a pin with him. This would be his second trade on the trip. He also traded with an older man on the bus while we were headed to MK.

I had Little trouble trying to figure out how to adjust the car and aim at the same time. My score wasn't great, but I think I did pretty good for my first time. I think I was rank #3 (what ever that was) and I did do a little better than Liam. Though it wasn't a compitition.:rolleyes1

After we were done with Buzz we saw Carousel of Progress and figured we had time so we could try it out. I admited that this was never on my list of things to do. It seemed to me that it was little outdated and something that Liam wouldn't want to do. Boy was I wrong. He even asked to go back again when we went back, though we didn't have time.

IMG_0644.jpg

After our lovely ride on the carousel we decided to head to the hub to try to get good seats for Wishes. As we started crossing the bridge from Future Land to the hub we noticed that the MSEP was still going through and the hub was packed full of people. I decided to stake out a place on the bridge next to the castle feeling that would probably be the best we could do. Plus there would be nobody infront of us.

I took this picture of the Castle while we waited.
WaltDisneyWorld2011007.jpg

WaltDisneyWorld2011010.jpg

WaltDisneyWorld2011012.jpg

A couple of minutes later they announced the Magic, Memories, and you show. I had completly forgot about this show. I have to tell you how amazing this show was. The lights on the castle was just amazing, and all the pictures and videos they showed just brought me to tears. I unfortunatly didn't take any pictures but did find this one one line and want to give you all a hint of how beautivul it was.

Next up is pictures from Wishes, but I took a lot of pictures so you will have to wait to see them in my next update. I am just so bad aren't I?:lmao::lmao:

Subscribing :surfweb:

We are taking our very first trip (DS7 and DS9) in August and decided to check out some trip reports with kids the same age to maybe pick up some tips.

So far...I know not to keave the KTTW key in the room which is something that I would have totally done considering I would have thought that they are just hotel keys and my kids weren't responsible enough to carry a room key around WDW...:lmao:

Looking foward to more...:goodvibes

No big deal. He had a fistula in his left arm. He says he now has some sexy scars to show off the girls.:lmao:

My sis wanted a fistula, but she had horrible veins and it didn't work. Ended up with a permacath.

I am sorry to hear wiggles world is no longer wiggles world, and what is worse is that the ball house is not there anymore! :sad2: Almost makes me think, why should I go back? But I know I want to, plus DD loves Wizzer.

Glad you managed to get his ticket/card taken care of and not end up back at pop. I guess I should have warned you about that on. :guilty: Sorry!

Glad to have you here, Flowers4. I admite I love the attention and love to hear that people are enjoying my TR at least a little bit. I'm glad that you got a little bit of information to help you for your trip, hope I am able to help you further with our TR.:goodvibes. I hope you guys have a great first trip in August. Make sure to get your 1st visit button for everyone to get a little extra pixie dust.:thumbsup2

I ended up keeping the KTTW cards in a clear pouch attached to the lanyard I had got at Give Kids The World (where wish kids stay) along with my Photopass and GAC. I don't think the pouch is readily found, but they did sell little pouches to go with the lanyards that could hold the cards. I found it easier than digging into my pocket or into our backpack.:thumbsup2

He currently has a port in his shoulder, but I guess it is really bugging him so they are trying something else. Unfortunatly it looks like he is going to end up having to have a transplant sooner than we expected. :confused3

I felt realy wierd to be there with it now being Wiggles World. It looks so bland there now, it would have been better if they had put some bugs bunny stuff in there, especially since the bugs bunny themed area was gone. My kids were so disappointed about the ball room, the could spend hours in there if I let them.:confused3 There are still good aspects about GA, but if it get much worse I think I will have to stop getting passes.

Yea you should have warned me about that!!!:headache::lmao: Funny thing is I figured it out before I even got to the gate. I stepped up to the CM and said, "I'm going to need my sons card to get him into the park aren't I?" He was really nice about it when I explained we just got to florida and I left in the room with out thinking. I don't think I am the first or last person who has done that. God thing is I made no other KTTW mistakes during the rest of our trip.:thumbsup2

Your day at great America looks fun. That picture catching trouble in the background is too funny!

I stink at buzz! But them again, I didn't even realize you could control the car until the end:rotfl:

that's a really cool picture of the magic show!

We did have a lot of fun at Great America. We have season passes so you might find quite a few mini TR's of days there. Hope it doesn't get to boring. I love taking pics of the kids. I might be a little bias, but I think that they are just the cutest kids in the world. Even when they are being naughty.:rotfl:

Liam was controling the car at first but kept moving it everytime I seem to find a good target. Oh well, just another excuse to go back right?

I would love to take credit of the picture of MM&Y, but alas I got it from the web. I was entranced in how beautiful it was that I never even though of bringing out the camera.:thumbsup2

As always, I am loving your report.
So much wonderful info.! I know I should know this by now but what is a GAC? I get alittle confused with all the abbrevations.
Loved the Six Flags pics...is that what Great America is? Do you have a Six Flags up by you all? I know there is the one here in Missouri and one in Georgia. Maybe I am mistaken. Anyway, GREAT pics. The kids are adorable.
So glad you made it on your flight and 10 am is the perfect time. I hate to hear that you forgot your KTTW. I was always so paranoid I had lost mine because mine had the charging option on it as well. :scared1: Also enjoying all you pics.
I just started on my TR. Check it out if you get a minute (link in my siggie) You never know, you just might be in some of the pics. I will definitely be looking over yours to see if I see myself. :lmao: So sad that we wasn't able to meet up. I did spot you at Star Tours w/Liam in his stroller running up the fastpass line. I rushed over, but you were already gone. Uggggh! A Girl's Trip will definitely have to happen sometime in the future. We would all have sooo much fun.
Also wanted to comment on your MK post. I agree MK is definitely the best place to start the trip. Your castle pics were amazing!!!! I (not ms. techie) was having issues with turning off the flash on our camera, so didn't get many good night shots.
Cannot wait to read more!!!!!:cloud9:

I'm not Corrine, but I can answer some of your questions so I hope Corrine doesn't mind that I do... :confused3

I know I should know this by now but what is a GAC? I get alittle confused with all the abbrevations.

GAC is Guest Assistance Card. It is a card that lets cast members (CM's) know about invisible disabilities, and how to make sure you get equal access despite these disabilities.

Loved the Six Flags pics...is that what Great America is? Do you have a Six Flags up by you all?

Yes, it is Six Flags Great America. Six Flags parks are at least 14 different parks in multiple states. (I also used to work at Great America.)

I was always so paranoid I had lost mine because mine had the charging option on it as well. :scared1:

I also was scared about that, esp. since it says right on your card 'valid for charging' :headache: but I kept mine in my wallet just like a credit card so I didn't have to worry as much about that card as I did all the photopass cards! I think I ended up with 5 or six of those cards! :scared1:

So sad that we wasn't able to meet up. I did spot you at Star Tours w/Liam in his stroller running up the fastpass line. I rushed over, but you were already gone. Uggggh!

so close you two!!

Sounds like you had a great first day:cool1: Can't wait to hear more:)

Hey MARsMama, glad to see you made it over here. We had a great first day and it isn't even over yet. I do know how to milk a story don't I? I will be posting my Wishes photos in just a couple of minutes.:thumbsup2

As always, I am loving your report.
So much wonderful info.! I know I should know this by now but what is a GAC? I get alittle confused with all the abbrevations.

As Singledad say the GAC stands for Guest Assistant Card. It is a special card that alerts CM of a person that needs special assistance. Such if you are unable to wait in the heat there is a stamp for alternate places to wait out of the sun. There are several diffrent stamps that help CM's direct you to where to go for your special needs. We used a special stamp to use the stroller as a wheelchair and it helped Liam to not get overly tierd waiting in the lines. We still had to wait but he got to stay in his stroller in the line.:thumbsup2

Loved the Six Flags pics...is that what Great America is? Do you have a Six Flags up by you all? I know there is the one here in Missouri and one in Georgia. Maybe I am mistaken. Anyway, GREAT pics. The kids are adorable.

Yes it is Six Flags Great America and it is located in Gurnee, Illinois just about 20 min North East of me. I have passed the one in missouri during a family reunion in 2009 but were unable to stop at the time.:goodvibes

So glad you made it on your flight and 10 am is the perfect time. I hate to hear that you forgot your KTTW. I was always so paranoid I had lost mine because mine had the charging option on it as well. :scared1: Also enjoying all you pics.

Luckily we didn't loss them but just left them in the room. I think that they just deactivate the original when they issue the new on because when I tried to use the old on once to get back in the room after getting ice it didn't work. Luckily Liam was in the room and let me in. I had a clear plastic card around my kneck given to me in 2009 from Give Kids the World for the GAC and it was a great place to keep the GAC, KTTW cards, and Photopass card (2).

I just started on my TR. Check it out if you get a minute (link in my siggie) You never know, you just might be in some of the pics. I will definitely be looking over yours to see if I see myself. :lmao:

I will check it out as soon as I am done updating my TR. I can't wait.:thumbsup2

So sad that we wasn't able to meet up. I did spot you at Star Tours w/Liam in his stroller running up the fastpass line. I rushed over, but you were already gone. Uggggh!

Yea I was looking foward to meeting you guys, but I didn't want to dwell on my disappointment because we were at Disney. We were that close huh. That is just crazy.!!!:rotfl2:

A Girl's Trip will definitely have to happen sometime in the future. We would all have sooo much fun.

I am so there. You, me, and Lidian would take over the world. Though I don't think we are getting her on to ToT.

Also wanted to comment on your MK post. I agree MK is definitely the best place to start the trip. Your castle pics were amazing!!!! I (not ms. techie) was having issues with turning off the flash on our camera, so didn't get many good night shots.

We did not start our Wish Trip at MK so I was super glad that I was able to this time. I don't think I can not start at MK ever again. Even if it is just for a few hours.:goodvibes I am sorry that you had trouble with your camera. Feel free to steal the castle pics if you want. We were there at the same time after all.:rotfl2:

I'm not Corrine, but I can answer some of your questions so I hope Corrine doesn't mind that I do... :confused3

Not as if you waited for me answer!:lmao::lmao::lmao: J/K. You know I have no problem.
