Hi All!

Well, after years of going to Disney with our daughters (ages 10 and 8), our next trip will include our newborn son...who will be 3 months old in April (he'll be here 8 weeks from today!!).

We have never traveled to Disney with an infant (our girls first trip they were 3 and 5), so I have a question. I know that the City Mini's are very popular at Disney...we got a Chicco Cortina Travel system for our baby...we chose it based on its maneuverability, etc....and what would be good for Disney, lol.

That being said, my mom said she would buy us the City Mini, and we would just use that for Disney....but I don't want her spending all of that money if the Chicco would be just fine. It moves great and has great storage...anybody with experience with the Chicco Cortina at Disney?

Also, he will be 3 months old, so likely in a wrap most of the time anyway, so does it even matter? :confused3

Thanks! :goodvibes

are you using Disney transportation? the city mini might be easier to fold.

We are staying at the Contemporary, but will obviously still have to use buses for AK and DHS. But, that was another thing we tested before picking the Chicco. It folds up super easy and super thin, so I don't think it will be a problem at all.

I think a city mini might be overkill for a 3 month old. The cortina has a larger and more accessible basket, which will come in handy with a very young baby and all their stuff. Are you planning on using the car seat in the stroller? If you got the city mini would you just use the stroller as is or would you get the car seat adaptor? If your plan was to use the city mini with the car seat adaptor, then I personally wouldn't bother. It's bulkier than the travel system you have now.

If you like what you have I would just use it. Yes, the citimini may be easier to fold but that's like what, 30 seconds twice or four times a day? If that.

We have traveled to WDW with our Cortina twice now and not had any issues (1st trip DS was 24 months, 2nd trip 30 months.) I considered getting a City Mini also, although for different reasons as DS was older. I ultimately decided I didn't want to spend the money on an extra stroller - we already had a stroller bag, rain cover and added sunshade for the Cortina and it just didn't seem worth it to splurge on a new stroller/accessories. (Plus we knew we wanted to get the City Mini GT Double when we had another child...and now #2 will be here in March.) By the way, that is definitely the one downside of the Cortina - the sunshade does not provide good coverage at all. If you have not already, I'd recommend buying an extender you can strap on to the existing sunshade to provide a little extra coverage. I was worried it would be too bulky but it was fine - I didn't have any issues navigating through gift shops, etc. and folding it up for the bus was fine. The basket was great for storage. We stayed at the Contemporary the first trip and at the Grand Floridian the second, so we used the monorail a lot anyway (and walking to the MK from the Contemporary was great also.)

No. We won't have the car seat. It lays flat so if he's in there, he will be laying flat.

Exactly why we chose the CR. :goodvibes

Thanks for the insight...I will look into the sunshade extender.

We took ours twice and had no issues! It's easy to fold and not too heavy. Plus it does lay flat for baby. I've also taken a city mini and loved that too! But the Chicco stroller will be fine:)

Excellent! I think we will just use what we have for this trip, and if it's a problem, we can always change it up for the next trip! :goodvibes
