Chicago Pizza

Giordano's is good, but you want the best, order Lou Malnati's. You won't be sorry!!

:thumbsup2

You speak the truth about Malnati's. It is the best. However, i think the history is not entirely accurate. Lou Malnati worked with his father at Uno's and Due's. They were managers not partners. Lou worked there for 20 some years.

Thanks for the lesson... I agree...

I think it is the best Chicago-style pizza.

::yes::

While they don't ship, if you're ever up in the area check out Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder. They have the best pizza I've ever had - they cook it 'upside down' - they call it a pizza pot pie. It was yummy, yummy, yummy.

I saw it featured on a food show on the Travel Channel! I saw that it's located across the street from the Biograph, and I have wanted to try it since I saw it on TV.

BTW, Lou Malnati's has an option for an italian sausage pizza where there is an entire "patty" of sausage on the pizza. My favorite is the sausage with giardinaire. Yummy!!!!

I've always had patty-style sausage at every Chicago style pizza place I've ever been to. I always thought that was the default method of doing sausage deep dish pizza. Although I did notice that Gino's gave a choice when we ordered it. That seemed new to me.

It's not across the street from the Biograph. But it is part of Chicago crime lore. It is across the street from where the St. Valentine's Day Massacre happened. The Biograph is where John Dillenger was shot.
