Chicago Cubs fans - Rebuilding Year 2023

Thanks Ron.

All you have to do is follow the Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks and Bulls.

You seem to be forgetting (or are intentionally ignoring) the most recent WS winner from Illinois.

I was teaching a class last night at church and had to keep sneaking peeks at my phone to check the score.

Good game!

Oh and I humbly seek your apologies for even questioning for a second Maddon's decision to put in Schwarber. :rolleyes1

Love this team!

Enjoy your Thursday, Cubs fans! Friday's coming...:yay:

*Some* of the chatter going to Schwarbs, lol...but I just wanted to give Jake a moment here

Arrieta's no-hit bid was the third-longest in Cubs World Series history and only two outs away from tying the franchise record
Cubs longest WorldSeries no-hit bids
6.0 Ed Reulbach 1906 G2
5.2 Mordecai Brown 1906 G4
5.1 Jake Arrieta 2016 G2

no, he wasn't wearing Khaki's last night, lol

Thanks for the videos. I am late to this thread. I had gotten away from watching the Cubs the last few years, but glad I jumped back on the bandwagon mid season, after all those around me had told me just how good this team was. I suffered through the years since 69. I am happy for the die hards. I don't consider myself one of those, but it sure is nice to see Chicago on top.

The Bears made it to the Super Bowl and Won.
The Bulls made it to the Finals and Won.
The Blackhawks made it to the Stanley Cup and Won.
The Sox made it to the World Series and Won.

Now it's only a matter of time until we see if the Cubs can follow suit. A Royal Flush in Chicago Sports in my lifetime.

and I would be a terrible fan if I didn't spread the MASSIVE MONTY appreciation as well. That trade was the Theo at work again!

i thought Joe was crazy to put Kyle on the roster.....I was wrong

Kyle Schwarber has not been medically cleared to play in the field. Perhaps he will pinch hit at a key moment in the game.

That's a really a shocking story. People get excited and accidents happen but if I knocked someone out with my elbow I would be the one running for help. I can't believe that they just stood there and did nothing. What kind of fan yells "Your Team Sucks!" to a 7-year old? I will say that they were in the bleachers and that might account for the rudeness of the fans. I would never bring a child into the bleachers at Wrigley. It's really no place for kids and I suspect that the bleachers at Progressive are the same.

The good news is that Stubhub refunded 50% of their ticket price and the Indians gave them tickets to tomorrow's game at Wrigley. The Indians are holding a press conference with him tomorrow. They did a good job of damage control.
