I hope everyone has a wonderful Halloween today!!!!
4.gif

What is everyone's plans for Halloween?
I am closing the store at 5pm, and the taking the girls to my mom's (I'm getting them ready at the store and leaving straight from there). After we get to my mom's we trick or treat to Kevin's parents house. After we see them, we trick or treat around the neighborhood beck to my parents house, and then stay there for dinner. Dinner always is chili and hotdogs (we've been having that since I was a young child). It's always a nice night!!!!:goodvibes

Mac - You're a better mom than I am :) I hope your family is grateful for all that cooking you did.

cquill -

Please come join us anytime - we would love to have you!!!!! :goodvibes
We haven't had a meet since the spring (we had a bowling meet last time, and it was a blast!!! ) We normally get a decent size group together (it all depends on schedules and location), and we always have a great time. I hope you are able to make the next one!!!

rmom - You saw Jiminy too!!!!:yay: I'm so jealous of you too!! :teeth: If you ever need help learning how to post pictures, please let me know and I'll try to help. It took me an entire weekend to learn, and I relied on the Tech Board, and especially Dan Murphy - he was the main person that taught me :thumbsup2

Well, I gotta run and get the girls costumes together for tonight
Have a good day today everyone!!

Happy Halloween. :stir:

Let's see my agenda today is to finish my tea so I can get awake (had to take DD to school by 7:30 -- so that's early for us!), then I have to go grocery shopping. DS-4 is BEGGING me to let him wear his Obi-wan costume, so I told him he could wear it to the store. No one's going to care right? It is Halloween after all. My as well let him wear it all day long.

The boys have a Halloween parade at their school at 1:15 today but I'm not so sure I'm going to go. It's chilly outside right now and I really don't know if I feel like standing out there watching the parade -- I told them I might or might not be there. If it's raining, I'm *definitely* not going. It's really not that huge of a deal. It's cute to see all the kids dressed up but I've not always been able to make the parade.

DD asked last night if she can go around trick-or-treating with her friends tonight, so she will go off with them while I take the boys around. It works out better this way anyway as she isn't slowed down by the little one. Threw a wrentch into my plans but it might be better than WWIII that might have happened. I had thought maybe the older 2 could go off by themselves and then I would just take the younger 2 around but that's out the window. Now DS-10 will be with me (unless we get a call later from any of his friends wanting to go as a group).

I have to wait to go out Trick-or-Treating though until she gets home so I can get pictures. Her dress is really too big but I'm thinking with the weather that might be a good thing -- she can put a heavy coat underneath it and then people can still see her costume. :thumbsup2

I have no idea what we are doing for dinner tonight -- probably find something at the store. Usually we tend to do pizza but we just had left-over pizza last night so I don't want to do that again. Whatever it involves won't involve me driving. I don't drive on Halloween at night unless I absolutely *have* to. :)

Tomorrow I have to go to the dentist to get a consultation about the implant for the tooth that disinegrated -- although I was told within a week after the temporary was put on I would have a toothache & still don't have one. That's a good thing though....I'm just afraid this new dentist is going to mess with it and then I WILL end up with a toothache but not enough $$$ to get the procedure done yet. :scared1:

Friday is 1/2 day at school & partner's day so I get to go back to school with my 8th grader. Should be interesting. I like partner's day.

By the way Chicago Disr's --- I am definitely having a Portillo's craving -- absolutely love that place ....:goodvibes

By the way Chicago Disr's --- I am definitely having a Portillo's craving -- absolutely love that place ....:goodvibes

I had Portillo's on Sunday, a chicken croissant sandwich. I had to save up my Weight Watchers points for it and really plan. But it was great! :thumbsup2

TR, Part 4:

Saturday was my MK day. I hadn't accomplished much of it at MNSSHP. Didn't think I would, so I made sure I had a whole day there. I was hoping to get there for the opening, but of course I didn't make it. :rotfl: I don't even know what I was thinking. So I headed out at something like 10am. I think I took the bus. (This day is actually pretty hazy in my memory, so there won't be as much detail.) When I went under the railroad station and into Town Square, I saw Mary Poppins (in her white dress and parasol) and Bert, out for a stroll. I decided to follow them to try to get a picture. I was almost running after them! I followed them through the whole entrance and back under the train station on the other side. Luckily they finally stopped to chat with a little girl so I could get a couple of pictures. Then I saw Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow in front of the Barber Shop, so I went over to get some pictures of them. (I had never even see where the Barber Shop was, so that was nice.) Then I went into the Fire House to look around, which I don't think I'd ever done before. There was a cute stuffed Fireman Donald which I didn't get, but I finally broke down in the Philharmagic shop and got it. :donald: It's the Classic Donald, which I love. (But I like Modern Mickey and Minnie better, go figure.)

Then I went to the bakery and got my customary croissant breakfast. They have great croissants! I also got something else, I think a cherry turnover. I couldn't resist. So that stayed in my backpack until I was ready for a snack. :thumbsup2 Then I headed to the hub and almost went to TL, but then I remembered that I wanted to see the castle show to see the new characters with the moving faces. It was almost time for one of the shows, so I got a seat on a bench and waited. I love the new costumes! It makes it much more realistic, since they can move their mouths and blink their eyes.

So then after it was over I went to TL. I don't remember the order of things, but I think I hung around there long enough to get and use two FPs for Buzz. I saw the Monsters Inc show for the first time. It was pretty good. The stuff with the audience members was cute. I did CoP. Always a favorite. I did the Peoplemover twice, I think. And I ate at Cosmic Ray's for the first time. There were no tables when I was leaving mine so I tapped a guy who had a wife and little girl on his backpack and gave him mine, before anyone else saw it. My good deed for the day.

I think that's about it for TL. Then I headed over to Fantasyland. I did Philharmagic, and then saw that there was even a long line for iasw, which isn't promising. So I thought I'd just skip the rest of FL and try it again later. As I headed into LS, the HM line with awful, so I went to HoP. I think I fell asleep. :rolleyes1 I should be able to do that one and stay awake! I like it. I don't know what's happening to me, falling asleep at WDW. :scared1: Then I went to the Christmas shop and found this cute Baby's 1st Christmas ornament. My neighbor had volunteered to seal my balcony, and was doing it that day, so I had decided to get him a gift card for a restaurant, and he has a new little grandson, so I thought I would get the baby something at WDW. So I got the ornament. I asked about getting the year put on it, but they were all booked up for the next couple of days. So I said I'd try at the Christmas store at DTD the next day.

Then I went into Frontierland and got a Mickey bar. (The whole trip is filled with shopping/browsing in the stores also, as it's one of my favorite things to do at WDW.) I hadn't gotten one at DL, so I really needed one. :mickeybar So I sat in a shady spot and ate it. Then I did the Country Bear Jamboree, and actually stayed awake. :yay:

By then I had decided that the crowds were just too bad at the moment, and my feet hurt, so I decided to get a FP for Splash and then head back to WL and rest for a while. I wanted to see Spectro that night so I needed a break before then. (BTMRR was closed while I was there, so that wasn't a factor.) So I got the FP and then got on the train and took it back around to MS. I think I was planning on doing a little more shopping or something, so I was kind of hanging around Town Square. I think I sat down on the train station steps, and then I called my friend in Indy. As I was talking to her, I looked over in front of Exposition Hall, and there was Jiminy Cricket! I got all excited, because I had only seen him once before, in Epcot. (I can't even remember exactly where, now, somewhere in WS. Would that be Italy?) Still on the phone, I went over and started taking pictures of him. That was all I was planning on doing, but the line was fairly short and suddenly I just found myself getting in line to get a picture with him. I was thinking of you, slo! So I was talking on the phone, and then finally I was like, I'm next, I've got to go! So then I went up to him and hugged him. The CM had my camera. I told JC that I was wearing his shirt yesterday. (I was wearing it because I thought maybe I would see him at Epcot. But I had the wrong park!) Then he got all excited and got down on one knee to pose with me. So that's what the pictures are like. I don't even know if I have one where he's standing up, except for the ones without me in them. So that was my Jiminy Experience! Then I went back to the WL, by boat I think.

I'll have to stop there, because I need to get back to work. I need to figure out what to do with my pictures on my laptop. I haven't done anything with any pictures this whole year because I haven't figured it out! But I'll try to do it soon. I don't have much more to write for the rest of the MK day, so maybe I can do it tonight.

HIya!

Happy belated birthday leigh!! Your TR is so much fun!! i want to go!! :)

Hope everyone is doing well! Another drive by posting from me!! I am keeping quite busy with everything, Roman is getting bigger every day! I will take Halloween photos and post them when I get a chance!!

Becky2005: I have an implant and I LOVE it! ::yes:: Cracked a tooth chewing ice or something and ended up having to have it pulled. My other teeth are very healthy so I wanted to do the best thing to keep them that way. Implants are just like getting a brand new tooth. :teeth: They are wunnnnnnerful, but yes....very expensive. Keep in mind that it will last forever in making your decision. Also....if you have further problems, they can anchor a bridge or partial (when we get really old - maybe - hopefully not) to the implant. I recommend.:thumbsup2

DMM - would love to see pics of your kids. :goodvibes I miss talking to you. :chat:

Sk8leigh - great report - thanks! :woohoo: Waiting for MacRaven to write one about her observations from first week in October. I may have to go later in the year next time personally. so so hot.

Slo: thanks for the teaching offer on the pics. :thanks: I may take you up on that later. Right now my pictures are on a CD thanks to my son. Maybe someday I will look at them. :rolleyes2

:wave2:

Halloween was very nice!!! :goodvibes
My parents neighbors, and my inlaws neighbors always enjoy seeing the girls dressed up. The girls had fun trick-or-treating, and they came home with lots, and lots, and lots, and lots of candy :faint: I never know what to do with it all:confused3 I always used to take it to work, but this year, I'm the only person at work, and I sure don't need to be eating all that stuff:sad2: I already gained weight from that cruise, and I can't afford to gain anymore:sad2: So, if anyone wants some candy, let me know ;)

Becky - Good luck at the dentist today. I hope it all goes well :wizard:

cquill - I love Portillos too:goodvibes

Leigh - I'm really loving your TR :) I can hardly wait to see your picture with you and Jiminy
I bet it's great!!!!! :goodvibes

Michelle - It sounds like Roman is doing well, and that's great!!! :goodvibes How is Gabriel and Autumn adjusting to their new brother?

rmom - Whenever your ready, just let me know :)

Rose - What were your kids for Halloween?

Well, that's about it from me today
Have a great day today everyone!!

Here's my TR, Part 5, the rest of my MK day:

So I stayed at WL for quuite a while, I guess. I think I was just resting my feet for a long time. They really start to hurt, and it's best if I rest for a while. It makes my trip much more enjoyable. I think I'm going to start taking shorter trips and doing less.

I think after I sat around the room for a while and probably napped, I went to the gift shop to get some Halloween decorations for my Indy friend, who loves to decorate for all holidays. Then I went and caught the bus for MK. It was during Wishes, and I arrived as it was ending. So I had to make it to Splash fighting the huge crowds that were leaving. Not easy! I went through the Emporium a lot of the way, and then I got stuck on the bridge to AL in front of the Crystal Palace. It was a total logjam. Finally I got into AL, and I didn't have a lot of time before I needed to get my spot for Spectro. Pirates didn't have much of a line, so I decided to ride that instead. The ride is shorter. The line was still longer than it had looked, but it wasn't bad. Then I went and got my spot for Spectro, near Splash, at the end of the parade. So really I had a lot of time, since it took forever for it to get there. The family next to me didn't understand that, and were wondering where the parade was until it was explained to them. Then the CM in the street was having people hula hoop to pass the time. Some man did it and was horrible. Then a little girl did it and was slightly better. Then a little girl from the family next to me, which was British, BTW, so it was fun to listen to them (love the accents), was finally talked into it by the rest of her family. She was awesome! She could have gone on all night. It was really like bragging after a while, she just didn't stop, she was that good. Even with people walking past her close by. Finally she did stop, because it was just getting ridiculous. :) Everyone was very impressed, but also no one wanted to hula hoop after that. Then the Parade of the Souvineer Carts came by. Half the people thought the parade was starting.

Finally Spectro did start. I hadn't heard that they had replaced those creepy white-faced guys at the beginning with something different but still just as creepy, so that surprised me. Do you know when they switched? I know it was after Memorial Day.

After Spectro, I did go ride Splash. I didn't get too wet, which was good, because it was getting chilly. I think I was in the last row.

The park closed at midnight and it was getting close. The two main rides I still needed to ride were iasw and HM, so I headed back over there. (Can you imagine being new and not knowing where anything was?? I have enough trouble when I get confused between MK and DL.) HM still had quite a line, so I went to iasw, which was basically a walk-on. Then it was close to midnight and I headed back to HM. I figured I'd be able to hit that one at the end, and I was right. There wasn't much of a line. So I rode that one and came out right at midnight. Then I headed back up Main Street (probably did some more shopping :rolleyes1 ), and then got the boat back to WL. I had to stand, which didn't do my feet any good. But at least I could go back to my bed and go to sleep.

So that's it for Saturday. Only one more day left, but it was pretty eventful.

I did make progress on getting my pictures up. I found the latest CD I could find that I had burned with my pictures, so now I can try to figure out where I need to start. I really like to get them on CDs before I do anything else with them. The last CD I could find was pics from Jan. 2006, so I sincerely hope I can find another one! :scared: I know I'm behind but I hope it's not that bad. I need to look at my memory cards and see what pics I have on them. I also went through a bag I still hadn't unpacked from my move and found my Penney's charge card still in the envelope from when I got it. I knew that had to be somewhere.

I had NO trick or treaters last night. I got home around 6:30pm, and some kids were going through the neighborhood, but if they came over to my house it must have been earlier. :sad2: So now I have a ton of candy left. I need to sort through it and figure out what to keep and what to bring to work.

Afternoon all. Just dropping in for a quick hello.
Finishing putting away laundry and then have to pick kids up from school. Sorted the buckets of candy - way too much.:rotfl2:
We didn't have many TTs at all here either. I put a bucket outside and it was still pretty full when we returned.
Hope you all had fun yesterday.
Off to do my chores.

I had Portillo's on Sunday, a chicken croissant sandwich. I had to save up my Weight Watchers points for it and really plan. But it was great! :thumbsup2

Wish I was there!

Hey slo -- There are a couple of big figures on sale at disneyshopping.com for $65. I'm trying to decide if I want to get the Bambi one. :rolleyes1

I just got my friend's little boy (3) his first Christmas gift for the year. He wanted a Bambi play set (7 characters) that was on DS, but I looked and it wasn't there anymore. So I found it on ebay and got it there for a little less than it would have been on DS. :cheer2: He's really into Bambi. When I was on the phone with her today he was watching it. He had me read him Bambi at bedtime when I saw them the other weekend, and I guess he likes to pretend he's Bambi. :goodvibes

Gotta go, gotta catch the train to go HOME! :cool1:

:surfweb:

Boy, I"ve been sleeping so good lately - this cooler weather is good for that!!!
My hands though are terrible:guilty: The cold is definitly not good for them:sad2: Going from warm to cold like we did really makes them worse - it did in January too when we went to WDW for that warm weekend. No need to send PD my way - I'm going to ask that for something else (my hands will never get better, and I've excepted that)

This morning I'm going to ask for your prayers and PD for 2 different things.
**My neighbors baby (18 months) is in the hospital after getting a spider bite on her leg. She had a terrible reaction to this bite, and is suffering from a very high fever and a very painful lump on her leg. She's such a sweetheart, and I hate to think of her being in the hospital :guilty:
**A fellow firemans (and friend) brother died unexpectedly 2 days ago. He was 37 and fell over a dead of an instant heartattack. The wake is today and funeral tommorow - please keep this family in your prayers - this sudden death is a huge shock to them.

Leigh - I didn't know they changed anything in Spectromagic (it's my most favorite parade). I agree about those white faced guys being creepy (it's never been my favorite part of the parade)
**Thanks for letting me know about the Big Figs:) I just acquired 2 more lately, so I going to have to hold off (because of space). I have to put one away to make room for the new one. I just love those things!!!! :goodvibes

Sam - I wanted to say goodbye to you now, in case I don't come back on later. Have a wonderful, wonderful cruise :sail: I'm sure you'll have a great time!!!! Please be safe, have fun, eat lots of good food, and make tons of wonderful memories:goodvibes We'll have to compare trips when you come home. Oh...........in the dining room if you see Okim (from Indoneisa) & Ernesto (from Chili) (they are together in the dining room),
tell them that we said hi :wave2:

Tiggerrrrnnnnnnnnnn - I hope you had alot of good candy left over:) What were your kids again - I forgot

Joe - Haven't see you in awhile :wave2: How's the new job going? I hope you are still liking it:)

It's time to start getting Steph up for school :teacher:
Have a good day today everyone!!

good friday morning chicagoland homies...

have been working his week and cat sitting for a lady at church.
she has 4 cats......

working today and have to check in soon.

hope your day is great and you all have a super weekend.

slo, i have the 2 on my prayer list.
keep us updated please.

Morning all. Have to make a quick stop here. Kids have only half day at school today and I need to get to the grocery store.(after I shower)
Leigh, loving your trippie. Can't wait to see some pix.
Slo, keeping your friends in my thoughts and prayers. Kellie wore my old 7th grade  cheerleading uniform (I sure hope that shrunk in the closet over the years - otherwise I was really small) and Kyle was Jengo Fett from Star Wars.
Sam, have a great cruise. Hope you have great weather and that this storm they are having is far enough north not to bother you.
Bunchkin, how are you?
Welcome cguill. Come visit us often.
Well, I'd better jump in the shower and be on my way.

Good morning everyone as well. I kind of like the cooler weather we've been having. I'm sure I'll change that tune soon, though.

Big event this weekend for us: Our DD7 is going to be "modeling" in the Winnetka American Girl Doll fashion show on Sunday. This is her first time, and she will be modeling Bitty Baby pijamas. Should be a cute experience.

I'll let ya all know how it goes.

Also hope to be able to go to the Northwestern game (vs. Iowa, I think:confused3 :rotfl: ), but lots of other Saturday activities may get in the way. We have season tickets, but haven't been able to go to as many games this year as I like. I'm not a big Northwestern fan, but I do like going to college games.

Have a great weekend!

-Bret

Hey Everyone, thanks for the well wishes for the cruise. Yes, the storm will be out of range by tomorrow afternoon. Whew! Who'd think there'd be a tropical storm in November??! We are very excited and this last day of work is going to go by soooo slow, but then I have more work to do at home! Last minute this and that -- you know! Laundry, straightening up, last minute packing, mostly for DH because he refused to pack anything more than 24 hours in advance. You know, like when it's too late to do a damn thing if the pants are ripped or need anything? Little does he know though that I advance checked all his possible choices for the cruise. HA! Take that! I even took his dress shoes to be stretched and polished at the Shoe Doctor downtown here. Sorry buddy, you aren't going to make me nuts this time around! :headache:

Well, I gotta call Will County Police now and let them know we'll be out of town next week. Hopefully, they will step up the patrols in that area next week.

So, anyway, take care everyone, I'm going to be pretty busy today, so I'm not sure I'll be back on before I leave.

Have a good week!!

pirate:

Slo ~ So sorry to hear of your news. My thoughts go out to his loved ones and I am sending :wizard: for the little girl.

The MRI went well yesterday, but my knee is getting worse. At Jewel last night, it gave out and I almost fell. (Now my other knee is sore too) I hope my doctor calls me back soon with the test results, so I can start the next step of this. I know whatever needs to be done has to go through insurance, so that will be interesting.

:surfweb:

Joe - Haven't see you in awhile :wave2: How's the new job going? I hope you are still liking it:)

Doing well, thanks! :cool2:

I still like the new job -- except for collection calls for past due invoices! :rolleyes1

:wave2:
When's the next Chicago meet and greet?
