I just found this thread. Looks like many Chicagoland folks are here. We live in the Northshore. Anyone else up here? (Sorry to not be able to look back over the prior 1,000 pages of posts, but I don't have a spare week to kill!:lmao: :lmao: )

-Bret

Welcome, RatBoy :welcome:
Nice to see some northern peeps!
I grew up in Skokie and Wheeling. Have been living in Schaumburg for a few yrs.

Slo -- Welcome home. I can't wait to read about it & see pictures. Sorry to hear about the seasickness though.

RatBoy -- Welcome to the thread.

Welcome home Slo!

The funeral service was nice, and it was very touching to see how many people came to pay their respects. It was so sad to watch his grandpa though. They were married for over 61 years, and you could just tell his heart had been broken.

I need to get a MRI done of my knee, but the doctor does seem to think I tore something.

Hey everyone
Just to let you know my wife had our baby. Everyone is doing great. 6lbs 13 oz and 19 in. His name is Garrett William. When I finally get the picture downloaded I'll post them. I forgot how small they are.
March On
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
This is such great news!!!! :goodvibes
I sure hope you and your family come to a DIS meet sometime so we can meet you all.

Hey all. Bunchkin, where are you?
Busy week for me. Finally catching up on my house chores.
Slo, I know you are already gone, but sure hope you have a great trip!!!!! Didn't realize our birthdays were so close. Mine is tomorrow. Have to work. We'd thought about going to the Rainforest Cafe tonight for dinner, but then realized it was Sweetest Day and quickly changed our minds. Not feeling up to fighting the crowds of crazys.:rotfl:
Mac, you just got home. Now where you off to?
Bigben congrats on your new son!!! I bet you are having a great time being a new dad again.
Well, was just checking in to say hello. And catch up with my reading. Hope you all have a great weekend.
Later.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
I hope you had a wonderful birthday!!!! :goodvibes

Hey Hersey!

So, how did you like Saratoga Springs overall? I love your pictures. I hope they still have that China exhibit when I get out there in March. March seems so far away mainly because I have to cross that wide expanse of winter to get there!

Yes, time to face the fact that it's FALL! Booo hissss! Sure couldn't tell this past weekend though! I loved it! I was so happy with the weather. Couldn't beat it with a stick!

Well, it's going to be quiet around here without Slo this week! Let's see, today is a Sea Day, so she's probably laying by a pool somewhere. Two weeks from now, that'll be me!

Megan got her hair cut and she's lovin it. I was afraid she'd hate the cut afterward when there was nothing we could do about it! But, she likes her swingy new cut. There were lots of compliments for her when I dropped her off at school this morning!

Sure would be nice to see a pinch o sunshine today. Not nice to cut us off so quickly like that!

Well, gotta run along and get some more work done.

Sam pirate:
On that day Kevin and I were having our couple spa day :goodvibes
I'll go into detail about that on my trip report - it was great!!!!!

I'm glad Megan likes her new hairdo - Stephanie likes her hair shorter too:cutie:

I want a Kirsten AG doll, have ever since they came out. I even have gone to "visit" her when I am downtown. So, no, don't think it is wierd at all. (I also thought about applying to work there when they first opened, thought with my name I would be a shoe-in)

Bunchkin ~ Sadly my knee is no better. I see the ortho surgeon on Friday, and I hope he can get a MRI orderd right away.
I"m sorry your knee is doing poorly :guilty:
Please keep us posted on how you are doing, and I'll send tons of PD your way for it to feel better soon:wizard:

Okay, I gotta run - I'll catch up some more later
Have a good night!!

Evening all.
Caught up on the reading.
Welcome home SLO!!! You've been missed. Sorry to hear things were a little rough on the high seas.
Boo at the Zoo today was just OK. Guess everything is disappointing after a MNSSHP!! The kids were looking for candy stations.:lmao:
piglet too, hope the knee's not too bad. Maybe just a little arthritis.:wizard: I know how it is to bend down and hear nothing but crunch, crunch.
Well, better get off to bed. Work in the AM.
Night all!!

welcome to your new home ratboy.....

:goodvibes Too funny! I think if I find another new home on a Disney-related forum, I'm in trouble!! :rotfl2:

But I know how addicting this all can be, so you probably aren't far from the truth.

Thanks for the nice welcome.

-Bret

RatBoy Welcome stop by often. Usually we are more active than of late.

Slo Have you caught up on the laundry yet. I think that is the worst part of coming home  Of course that and to immediately head out to the grocery for the necessary morning coffee. How did the girls do on the "big red boat"?

Piglet Sorry about the knee. I hope it is nothing serious.

My knee bothers me only when I stand still for a long stretch. It didn't bother me at all in WDW, even with all that walking!:confused3 Must be an arthritis thing.

Mac Your last tv listing had me reaching for my coffee and making sure something WAS in there. :rotfl:, then I read that the show was in spanish :rotfl2:Not nice to us early morning peeps.

Dewain's grandmother has passed away. Even though the repair part of the surgery worked, they were unable to get her BP to a safe level. Her heart was too weak and she died a couple hours after being taken to ICU.
My deepest sympathies for your families loss

I have noticed that it is slower here with SLO gone on her cruise. Hope she is having a wonderful time..

I leave Sunday at 6 am ( the flight leaves at 6 am I am leaving the house at 4:30 am) for the company user conference in Orlando and then staying a few days to play at WDW.. ah the wonders of an AP..:thumbsup2 As I explained to DH- the only cost is the $59 POP room.. I did forget to mention F&W stuff, meeting OF and RRBB and their family, dinner at Kona with a DISer, ..

Well off to start work.. I am meeting with Geoff and his college counselor at 4:45 today...
I was having a wonderful time!!! :sail:
I hope you have a wonderful trip - tell Mickey I said thanks for giving us a great cruise!!!:goodvibes

Yes, she is definitely the life blood of the thread. But, I'm sure we can maintain until she gets back. Then we can all pester her until she posts her trip report. ;)

Of that, I have zero doubt. :)
I will do one soon!!!
I can hardly wait to share my trip with all of you!!! :goodvibes

Evening Chicago  Hope everyone is doing well! i'm just popping in to say we're all doing well :) just really busy!!
How's the baby doing?
How are you feeling?
Keep us posted on everything!!! :grouphug:

Good morning everyone. Hope everyone is well and just busy.

Alex still hasn't decided if he is trick or treating this year. I'm hoping to stay at home and hand out candy. I never get to see the little kids since we are always walking out.

Nothing new here, just the usual busyness. Looks like this weekend should have some good weather. I was hoping to go to the pumpkin farm but today might be out.

Tonight I go to a Tastefully simple party
Has he decided on a costume for halloween?
I remember his costume from last year - he was Edmond
I don't know why I remember that, but I do:rolleyes:

Hey, all! Happy weekend....

Mac...my son just took off with a friend of his to go to Fright Fest...hope you have a good time there!

Hersey...I love handing out candy on Halloween when the kids come by..it's fun to see what costumes they have.

DMM...glad to hear everyone is okay.

This past week Mark's sister got some good news (and she got it on her birthday, what a great present!). She found out that she doesn't have to have radiation, after all, so things are looking up for her! Thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers...prayer *does* change things!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
That is such wonderful news Donna!!!! :yay: :yay:
I do believe in the power of prayer - very very much!!!!

Hi gang!!!

Hope you're all doing well!!!

I've still been really busy!

Didn't have the garage sale this weekend. Hunter has been sick and home from school on Thurs and Fri, so it set me back on setting things up for the sale. So we will probably have one this coming weekend.

!
I"m sorry to hear that Hunter was sick this weekend :guilty:
I hope he gets better for Halloween:wizard:

Welcome Bret!!!! :dance3: :dance3:
Please come by often and visit - we would love to have you!!!!

It really is touching when many people pay their respects at a funeral or wake - it truly does help the grieving family. I felt that way to when my grandma passed away. Many continued hugs for you and your family:grouphug:

I'm sorry you need an MRI - have you had one before?
I actually love MRI's - they are so relaxing!!!!
When I had my knees done, they didn't put me totally inside the tube, so you don't need to worry about that. Just go and close your eyes, and relax:)

I am 75% done with my laundry:laundy:
I am 100% done unpacking, and the luggage is back up in the attic.
I am pretty impressed with myself (no smilie for patting myself on the back:laughing: )

The girls did wonderful on the boat, and they were very sad about the vacation being over. They especially loved the kids clubs, and would beg us to take them - which was nice, because then I never felt quilty about taking them there;)

Hey, hey, hey - I'm all caught up!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
If I missed anything, please let me know, I did go through this rather quickly
Now I must go and get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!

Morning!

Slo ~ No concerns for me with the MRI, I have had numerous done, mostly of my brain.

Ratboy ~ Welcome to the thread!

I am going with my Mom to my Grandma's today for her birthday. Hope to get ahold of my case worker (for worker's comp) so I can get the MRI done sooner rather than later.

Hi Everyone!

Just to catch up really quick! Welcome Home Slo: Sorry about the seasickness. Sorry you missed the lobster! Bummer! I guess I better pack some dramamine afterall! I have good sea legs, but I'm not sure how good. Good to hear the girls liked the kids club. I am still not sure what Megan will think of them, but it's good to hear that they liked it. I guess they didn't get sick huh? How about Kevin, was he sick?

Also, Bunchkin, I won't be able to make a sneak peek, but thanks for the offer. I have to take my bird to my friends house that evening in Manhattan and I want to keep my time open for any last minute stuff that crops up. I'm hoping to have it all together by then, but just in case I don't, I want to have time that evening to get the last minute things done! I will have to make a stop at the bank that day too!

Piglet: I didn't get a chance to say that I'm so sorry for your family's loss. It's hard to say goodbye to someone that's so loved and cherished.

RatBoy... Welcome to the thread! Stop by often!

Well, I gotta run. Busy week here this week!

Sam!

it seems different to me

took off work to get somethings done in the house today.
