Question.......
Did and of you see Miley Cyrus at the end of the movie? She was on the mountain by the pool dancing. Stephanie noticed her right away, and then we watched the credits to see if she was right, and sure enough, there was her name. What good eyes she has :3dglasses

Becky - Did your DD and her friend ever fall asleep?

I didn't notice but by the pool scene, I wasn't really paying attention any more. I came on the DIS, saw a thread about it and told the girls. Their answer was "We know...we recognized her". :lmao: OK then.

What I kept thinking was "WAIT....they didn't have the science girl jump in the pool"? I've forgotten her name --McKenzie? I only know about it because they did one of their behind the scenes thing about how she was so scared to jump in the pool because she didn't know how to swim so Corbin jumped in with her, etc... So, I was expecting to see a scene with her & Corbin jumping into the pool (I was curious to see how it turned out since the featured a whole behind the scenes thing on it) at the end but it wasn't there. Although, the girls & I all cracked up when Gabriella jumped in -- she held her nose! Umm...OK...she's a lifeguard -- why is she holding her nose. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

And I ended up going to bed around 2 AM. I know the girls were still up, DH got up to go to the restroom around 4:30 AM and he told me the girls were still up but then he saw them turn out the light when he got out, so I'm guessing they hit the hay about 4:30ish -- they aren't up yet -- although I did think I heard voices earlier. The boys are dying though as they aren't allowed to go in the basement right now since that is where the girls are. I will be waking them up at 10 AM though because DD's friend is being picked up at 10:30.

Edited to add: The girls were apparently already awake being quiet. DH *had* to inform the boys that the girls were up right after I posted, so they went downstairs -- let's see how long before WWIII breaks out because the boys are down there now. ;)

Is everyone getting ready for school? Us too.

We are! DD is finally ready, went and got first day of school outfit yesterday. We just have to go to locker set-up on Tuesday & see if any 8th graders are there, so she can see who is on her team. I think we may have the entire place to ourselves as there were a BUNCH of people there last week but DD couldn't make it. I went just to order her some new gym shorts & then later realized I still had the check in my checkbook, so never paid for them. :rotfl2: I'll have to do it when we go in on Tuesday. DD has the *easiest* schedule this year as she practically never leaves the team center except gym, lunch & choir. Even the French room is a hop, skip & jump away. Although they switched location of a couple of the teams unless I'm losing my mind. I thought it looked different and then when DD & I were talking I showed her the map was wrong & then realized what was wrong. She did say that 8th grade was in a different location than it is there year for one of the teams -- so I'll double check on Tuesday that I read the signs correct but it's possible I spaced as she wasn't with me and I was just doing a quick locker peek & "where IS the French room?" peek.

I will be heading to the mall later today to get the boys gym shoes & then they will all be set.

Are you all ready for High School?

Good morning everyone!!

One more girl still left here! :)

I didn't think they would ever settle down last night, but they did. And unbelievably they were all up at around 6:30AM!!!! I know there are going to be some pretty tired girls later!! ::yes::

slo The girls really chowed down on all the food! I've never seen such carnage!!! ;) :rotfl:
We've been to the Air and Water show when Lauren was little. It was a ton of fun. And would have liked to go tomorrow but Tony has some work to do. RATS!!! Maybe next year! ;)

Hersey Next time we have a slumber party I'll make it adults only and bring out the GOOD food!!! :thumbsup2
Tony and I always talk of opening a "On A Stick" restaurant where every thing comes on a stick!!!! Alex can come and work for us!!! :rotfl2:

Becky Being low on food never happens around here! :rotfl:

DMM Congrats on the garage sale success!!! I hope today is good too!! :thumbsup2

I hope this last girl gets picked up soon. I have some errands to run!!!!! :rolleyes1

Hi all-

HSM2 was on again last night. Chrissy doesn't seem to be that interested in it. I kept changing channels and watched bits and pieces of it. Chrissy is just starting to like the Hannah Montana shows. She also likes Little Einsteins.
The kids watch more of the Nickelodeon channel than the Disney channel.

Piglet too- I read on another thread of yours that your DH and DS are at the USS Cobia in WI right now- the overnight sleepover.
My DH and DS are there too, with DS's cub scout pack. They did the sleepover there last night too! I talked to DH on his cell a couple of times last night. He said there are about 3 cub scout Packs that stayed overnight last night. My dh and ds should be home early this afternoon.
Hope your DS and DH had a good time there :thumbsup2

Hi to all :wave2:

Today is Katie's birthday party, but her actual birthday is not until Tuesday. She is very very excited about this party :cool1: but I am not excited :sad2: I'm having a real hard time with this birthday - it's not easy watching her get older. I wish I could make time stand still and have my kids not get any older. It's so hard to believe that she's going to be 4:eek: Where did the time go??? :confused3 I know we can't control the time, but I sure wish we could  Do any of you get sad when your kids have a birthday? Or am I just nutty???

poohlovermom - Wow, $120 a night is great!!!!! :woohoo: I"m glad your trip was nice, and relaxing :goodvibes

HERSEY - How fun that Alex is on a trip with his dad :cool1: I bet you miss him though:sad1: When does he come home???

Tiggerrnnnnnnn - That's good that you have your van, and your not w/o a car. I hope the friend can help with the check engine light - that would be nice:wizard: :wizard:

Crissup - How fun about going to DL :cool1: What day do you leave?? I'm sure you'll have a great time!!!!

Becky - I didn't notice Gabriella holding her nose, but when Stephanie watched it again last night, I made sure to look, and sure enough, she did :teeth: (not that I doubted you)

Bunchkin - Was Lauren super tired last night after getting up so early? I was so surprised when you said the girls woke up at 6:30am

DMM - I'm sorry you got rained on, but I'm glad you made lots of money :thumbsup2

Well, I gotta run and finish getting ready for this party
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Good Sunday morning everyone. It sounds like everybody's got lots going on.Becky the sleepover sounds tiring. Did anyone get much sleep? I don't kno why it's called a sleepover anyway. Is your daughter excited for 8th grade. Mine is excited and alittle nervous for high school.

Slo how the store going? I'm still verrry behind onmy reading. Hope all is well

Have a great day. I'll pray for everyone at church today.

Happy early birthday to Katie!!! :cake:

I do get sad for my kid's birthdays but on the other hand I always get this weird feeling. It's not quite relief but maybe thankfulness? It's weird whew "we made it another year". Of course, I like the older ages so the really young ones are just tolerated. :) I do think they should quit aging at 12 though so I don't have to be a parent of a teenager (although so far, so good knock on wood for DD -- only a few minor teen issues so far).

That was funny about Gabriella -- I don't think you doubted me. I have been reading different threads and going back to watch the ones that people point out. It's fun to do that -- at least I think it is. They were saying it's a guy double for when Gabriella jumps in to save Sharpay and well...I can't see the "hairy armpits" they were talking about -- you can definitely see it's not her and it's a really bad wig when they do this split second stop on her on the ledge before diving in. :lmao:

I think I'm still recovering from it, except no more sleeping in for me to recover. I already warned the kids that come tomorrow they will be woken up just as if they were going to school to get them back into the groove. DD will be the worst one of the bunch. My 10 year old is usually up bright and early normally. She's excited on one hand to go to 8th grade because she quit orchestra so will only have choir & she already knows Mr. H. plus with the new VV thing going on that is supposed to go on the entire year this year. She had so much fun with that, she can't wait. She has also heard via the grapevine that the musical this year is going to be Grease. She's not sure on that one but somehow heard rumblings of that. On the other hand, it's SCHOOL and that alone is enough to make her not happy. Also, we know nothing about any of her core teachers, none of them have websites for us to be noisy about and check out. We did find a rate your teacher page where the students put their comments in. One teacher got fantastic marks, the others were either not listed or not so good. She did get the "mean" gym teacher though so I'm nervous how that's going to pan out for her. :scared1:

UGH...more rain today. I'm ready for this weather to be done. I'm freezing here. I have to go wake up DD to start getting ready for church this morning.

Hi guys!

I'm at DL!!! I have to leave for my Segway tour in a few, but I thought I'd check in. I don't have a lot of getting ready to do, because my suitcase is still in Minneapolis. :sad2: I barely made the connection because my flight was delayed, and the bag didn't make it. Hopefully I'll get it later today. But I was talking to a supervisor CM last night about the tour, and he said to wear gym shoes, and I said I would, because that was all I had. So I told him about what had happened, and he took me to a little CM office, and came out with a voucher for two t-shirts! So I got $60 worth of shirts because the CM was so nice! So at least I'll have a new shirt on. :goodvibes How nice is that!

Ok, gotta go. I have free WiFi at the hotel, so I'll be back!

Rosemarie~ Wow, what a small world! Our group was the smallest one there. Nathan and Dewain were able to sleep in the officer's area, so they thought that was special. My guys are on their way home now, and I guess they had a good time. Did you know how late the activities were going to run? Fortunatly Nathan did OK, but talk about a late night. Our pack is planning a similar trip in May (but to a sub in Michigan) and I hope they find out ahead of time if it is going to be as late of a night.

Slo ~ I understand the mixed feelings about her growing up. Lauren going into kindergarten on Wednesday is going to be hard for me. I went to the Air & Water show years ago, back in high school. My Mom was still working for Valvoline at the time so we had "sponsor passes" and got to see things real close. The best part was getting to meet some of the Thunderbirds pilots and crew.

Leigh ~ Too bad about your luggage, but at least you have some new shirts to wear. Have fun today!

Have not watched HSM2 yet, but it is DVRed. Off to get ready for work, put it off long enough already. (I don't wanna go!!!! in my best pouting voice)

Slo- Happy Bday to dd!
Sk8- Have fun at DL! Never been there. Glad you got such great treatment from the cm!
HSM 2 went well. DD won a prize for a kiss Troy game. They had a pic of him and had the girls load up on lip gloss. They were then blindfolded and had to kiss Troy! Whoever got closest won the prize! Dd was smack on the lips! Glad to hear you moms survived the parties and sleepovers, too!
Counting down the days until school! Woohoo!

Kirsten- I think in Matthew's cubscout pack, there were 18 total(9 boys and 9 adults). I called DH at 9am today and Matthew slept until 7am this morning and it was a late night last night. No, we didn't know beforehand either, how late they stay up til and the noise there. As soon as midnight hit last night, DH said Matthew fell asleep right away. I guess Dh and Ds had a good time overall. I'll hear more about it when they get home today. They were staying a little longer this AM to check out the museum part of the sub.

Leigh- sorry to hear about your luggage :guilty:
Glad you are having a good time at DL :thumbsup2

Poohlovermom- Welcome back from WDW!
Did you say you have a trip report and some pics soon? I couldn't remember...

Slo- Happy birthday party to Katie! :bday: party:

Hi to all, gotta go.

Howdy!! :wave2:

I kind of like this chilly morning weather. Probably because my favorite season is fall!!!
However, I'm not looking forward to it getting hot and humid later in the week!! Why is it always this way when the kids go back to school??? :confused3

slo I get all sentimental when my kids have a birthday too. I CANNOT believe Hunter will be starting Kindergarten in 3 days!!!! Nor can I believe Lauren will be 10 yrs old in a month and a half!!! :sad2: Man that makes me feel old just typing it!!
I hope Katie has a wonderful birthday party today!!!! princess:

hersey I forgot to say: I HATE Pizza Hut too!!! :headache: Why do kids love it so much?? :confused3 But we did enjoy their bread sticks we ordered!! ;)

Leigh So sorry to hear your luggage was lost!! What a bummer!!! :sad2: That happened to us once. And luckily we got it the next morning.
Have fun on your Segway tour today!!! And that was very nice of the CM to give you free stuff too!! :thumbsup2

Crissup That's great you and Carol are able to take a trip to DL!!! :cool1:

DMM Sorry to hear you got rained out at your garage sale. Hope is was successful anyways. :)

Well, I better get going. I have a lot of laundry going on today. :laundy:
And Lauren wants the computer to play on Webkinz with the neighbor girl. I don't know why they just can't play with each other IN PERSON!!!
KIDS!!!!!

:goodvibes Hello Chicago,Chicagoland/Illinois Ladies and Gents,
I hope everyone is doing well. The weather has been a little too cold and rainy here for my liking. I know though that people are happy it’s raining cause I guess we need it. There was a cute fest going on by our house this weekend (Edison Park) but now I don’t think we will be going.
Swimming lessons end tomorrow but I will be signing DD up again. Poor DS he still is always getting ripped off of classes!

I have just been living like a vagabond. We will be home one day and then just pick up and go to Wisconsin if the weather looks good. We will be home now for a couple weeks though I think since I have some appointments scheduled and such.

My Mom who is my personal travel agent has been finalizing our November trip. They released the Visa codes and we went from the AAA room only to the package using the Visa code. My Mom said we save about 15%, which at GF is a lot of mullah! We haven’t decided on exactly how many nights yet since it’s so pricey. We might stay at a cheaper place the first couple of nights.

Love HSM2! Watched it again last night. Sounds like a lot of you had a lot of fun with it too. Have you all caught up on your sleep?????? I love cheesy so again like the first one it was right up my alley. I just know not to over analyze it and I watch it for the made for TV movie that it is. I was reading what people were commenting on in regards to the movie and sometimes I think it’s fun to see the bloopers that were spotted and such and other times I was like…golly gee…do we have to rip the movie to shreds. It’s not like it’s up for an Emmy! I have a huge, inappropriate crush on Zac Efron so that’s embarrassing. Can’t wait to see him in Footloose. Did anyone see him on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine? He doesn’t look 19 on that cover!

Oh.... We were at the Wiggle's concert last night! It was tons of fun!!! DS thought it was the greatest. It was his first concert! He is 22 months now. DD4 loved it too but she's spoiled and goes to everything!

Next show......Playhouse Disney Live!
Good luck with all your kiddies going back to school. My DD won't start until after Labor Day:banana: . PreK 4. I am in no hurry for summer to end (even though I enjoy Fall). I LOVE summer!!!!

:cool1: Happy Birthday to little Katie, Slo!!!!

Sorry I haven't been very good at keeping up with all of you. You are a great bunch of people. Thanks for letting me stop by and check in with you guys when I can! I hope everyone is doing well.

Thanks everyone for the well-wishes on my luggage, and yeah, free stuff rocks! :cool1: I'm wearing my Disneyland marquee with Tinker Bell right now. :goodvibes I got another shirt with Tink, a tank, but it totally clashes with my one pair of pants, so I can't wear it. But it was too cute not to get!

The Segway tour was AWESOME! I totally recommend it to everyone! It was so much fun. They're so neat to ride, and we went all around DCA. We got a picture of us all on our segways (I have a photopass with pics, but the site is down now. I'll share later.) We also got a cool pin with a segway, and a little breakfast, so it was really worth it. But riding them is so cool. It's just really natural, I don't know how to explain it. But now we all want one. :rotfl: I saw a guy riding one in downtown Chicago when I went out to get my lunch on Friday. He wasn't a cop or anything, it was just random. Maybe I'll do the tour in Epcot when I go in October, or now I guess they have an off-road tour in Ft. Wilderness. I'll be at WL, so that would be close. I'll have to think about it.

I did hit a curb, though. I wasn't paying attention and got too close. :rolleyes1 But I stayed on! :teeth:

Now I'm in my room taking a break and eating Build-A-Burger gummies. They're like those gummy burgers from Goofy's Candy Co., only smaller, in a bag, and in pieces. Not quite as good, though, but cheaper. I'm addicted to those burgers! I can't tell you how happy I was when I found an extra that I didn't know I had after my last trip. :lmao:

I love having a laptop here. Makes it nice to take a break. I have to let my feet rest. I'm doing new stuff to try to keep them from hurting, but so far it hasn't really helped.

Last night after I got here and got my Segway ticket and my shirts, I got a hot dog on Main Street, then I went and rode Pirates when Fantasmic was about to start. That was going on when I got off, and so I finished it (love the music!), and I went on HM. Cool new Leota effect. I think WDW might be getting it. Then I swore I wasn't going to go on Splash because it was getting cool, so of course I found myself walking into the SM line. :rotfl2: And of course, they put me into the front row. I could either sit in the front seat or the second one (it's single seating here), so I sat in the second and left the first seat empty! Thank goodness I did, because I got wet enough as it was.

I guess that's about enough for now. I don't know if I'll come back for another break it was a good time for one after the tour. Maybe I'll come back if I get my suitcase, though. It's really a drag not having my park backpack and fanny pack. And this is why you don't pack medication or anything else you really need in the checked bags! Take heed. I have a ton of stuff I would like to have (sunscreen, shorts, etc.), but the stuff I have to have I had in my purse and my laptop backpack (which is too heavy for the park).

So I'll talk to you later! :goodvibes

Debbie (and anyone else interested) -- I just found out reading another HSM thread that you can have Sharpay or Chad call for first day of school for FREE

www.hsm2wakeupcall.com

It's from Wal-Mart so basically you are signing up your e-mail but cool! :thumbsup2

I just signed ones up for DD -- one with Sharpay on Wed. and Chad on Thursday. It was listed on Mousesavers and someone here pointed it out. You can schedule as many as you want up until 9/15.

i don't have cake so save me a piece !
hope it is chocolate

went to church today and have all your backs.
you're good for the week.

I got my suitcase! And it came just in time. I had just gotten drenched on Grizzly River Run (like Kali, only IMO better). I hadn't gotten very wet, but then at the end there's a geyser that goes off randomly, and we right through it! I got soaked! I could have just wrung my pants out. :rotfl2: But then I got a call that the guy was trying to find my hotel, so now I have my clothes to change into. I feel so much better!
