Good morning. No rain here not a drop. Boy did we have wind though.

Tig My garbage made it ok. We have big recycle bins that was knocked over. Good thing Alex was home to rescue it.

Sounds like up north bore the brunt of the storm.

Slo This is it. I'm nervous and excited for you at the same time.:woohoo: Try a make time for yourself before your party to RELAX

Hello all:wave2:

I'm popping in for a very quick hello today. :wave2:

I've read everyone's post, and I'm sorry I don't have time to comment today.
I was at the store until midnight last night, and then didn't get to bed until after 1pm. I have to hurry up and get ready, so I can get back to the store this morning.

Thanks to everyone for their support and love these last couple of days:grouphug: It has meant so much to me!!!!! :goodvibes What would I do without you all??

Well, I gotta run - think of me at 5:30pm tonight - that's when I'll be having my ribbon cutting. I can hardly wait to tell you all about it tomorrow.

Have a good day everyone!!!

Saying my goodbyes now. Still have to so some packing. Leaving tomorrow morning to Hershey. Be back in a week

Good morning!

Sandy I hope all went well last night :cool1:

Bunchkin How did you 'campout" go? Hope you all had fun. What time did the girls go to sleep or are they still up?:rotfl:

Poohlovermom Happy aniversary :cool1: Sorry I'm late

I AM SO GLAD THAT YESTERDAY IS OVER!!!!!!

The party went very well, and it was a success. I was expecting some more people, but with it being a Friday night, in the summer, maybe they had other plans. I know several people we knew couldn't come due to their children having baseball/softball games. But we still had a good showing, and everyone had nothing but compliments for the store, which made me feel very good:goodvibes

I woke up this morning to another phone call about the alarm going off:mad: The phone call came in at 5:30am, and I had to run over there to turn the alarm off and meet the police. It was sorta funny though because the police officer that responded was someone I invited to the party, but couldn't come because he had to work. So I told him, "So you decided to make it to the party afterall!" We both laughed!!!

Now today we have Stephanie's dance recital at 12:30 and then this weeks activities are over!!!! :cool1:  :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: To celebrate the end of the week, my family and us are going back over to the store after the recital and having left overs from last night. Sandwiches, fruit, cheese, and cake - it will be nice to sit and relax!!!! :thumbsup2

Tomorrow I think Kevin and the girls are going to go swimming, and I have to go to the store and finish putting all the prices into my computer system. It's a boring job, but not a stressful job, so I don't mind doing it. Plus I need to have it done to be ready to open on Monday :)

Well, I gotta get ready for this recital, and then get Stephanie awake to make her beautiful for this recital. She really wants to wear makeup, and have sparkles in her hair:cutie: She's going to look so grown up - I want her to stay little and small forever.

Have a good Saturday everyone!!

good morning chicagoland homies.

ok, happy trip rose and debbie, happy birthday to those that had one, safe trip to all, congrats to the graduates, sorry for the sickies, sorry for the alarms thinking they are alarm clocks set at 7:00 am, happy sunny day to all, sorry for those with burdens, where's our photographer been lately???

and an oops to anything i over looked.........

we had the rain here on thursday...early friday. at midnight to 12:52am we had 1.25 inches of inch. it came down in sheets....
then it stopped for an hour and started up again. all together it measured 4 inches.

and i heard on friday from mr mac at work/chgo, that no one there had a drop of rain. what is that? big umbrella over the city??

i'm a couple of miles from kenosha and the storm hit here not south of us.

yesterday and today i am picking up branches, and debris from the yard, gotta mow today.

all lthe neighbors around me had flooded basements. no power went out so our sump pump saved us. whew...

how all enjoy this beautiful day we have

sandy: good luck for the future with your store

Rose- Sure you are gone, but have fun and thanks for the bday wishes!
Slo- Continued luck with the store! Hope dd's recital goes well!
2sweetangels- Congrats! 3 girls! Yikes! I am the oldest of four, so Iknow how a house full of girls works!
poohlover- Happy anniversary!

Heading to the Am Girl store tomorrow! Dd had an early bday party yesterday and accumulated quite a bit in gift cards to the Am Girl store. She is going to have quite a shopping spree, but I will not have fun carrying all of it back to the train. Should be nice, though. Dbf and ds are going to check out ESPN Zone while we are shopping. Then we are going to get Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. Yummy!
Off to take the kids on a picnic. I am rereading the last HP in hopes of refreshing my memory for the next book. Enjoy this beautiful day!

Paintnolish...

At the American Girl store, if you choose something rather large, you can always have it mailed to your house. The items usually arrives within one or two days. Megan picked out a few large things last year when we went and there was no way I was lugging those around! Sheesh! I had them sent for about $10-$15. Definitely worth it.

Hi everyone!! :wave2:

The camp out was a major success and TONSSSSS of work!!!
Thank the Lord DH came home early yesterday to help out.
He was way more of a help than my co-leader!!
He did a good chunk of the cooking and clean up inside while we did activities with the girls.
Everyone had a great time and it was lots of fun!!!
That was the final event I had to do with the troop. All I have left to do is hand in my financials for the troop for the school year and pass everything onto their new leader. The new leader came this morning to meet eveyone and have breakfast with us, along with her co-leader and some of the other girls who will be in the troop too that are coming from a troop that also had a leader that was giving up her position.

slo So glad everything went well at the store!!!! You need to PM me the store's address so I and the kids can come in with that picture I need framed. :)

paint Have a super time at AGP!!! :cool1: And I hope the boys find ESPN just as much fun!!! My younger sister used to work there years ago. She says there was always someone famous sports wise there.

The recital yesterday went great, and I'm so glad that all these events are officially over!!!!   Now I can open the store tomorrow w/o any extra stress :thumbsup2

Today we are going to try to get a little pool time in. The girls have been wanting to swim so bad for so long, and it finally looks like we'll time for that :sunny:

Mac - Thanks!!!! :goodvibes
**I had no rain here either :sad2: I was really bummed out too, because I didn't water any of my flowers in hopes of rain, and then I had to get up and water my flowers first thing Friday morning (that was the biggest run-on sentence ever  )

paint - Have fun downtown today :cool1: It's going to be a perfect day to be downtown :sunny:

Sam - :wave2:

Bunchkin - I am SO glad that your campout was a success!!!! :woohoo: :yay: I was praying that we would have no rain so you wouldn't have to have all the kids in the house. I'm so glad it turned out well - you're such a good troop leader!!!!! :goodvibes

Well, I gotta run and get ready for church
Have a good day today everyone!!!!

What a beautiful morning!!!

We did end up sleeping inside!! There was plenty of room.
With all that wind all day Thurs. and most of Friday there was no way I would have put the tent up. Our tent is huge, sleeps up to 10 people. So it would have been like a huge kite had I put it up!!! :rotfl:
And some of the parents preferred that the kids were inside anyways, since the weather was a bit wild. ;)
Thanks for the compliment!! :goodvibes
Glad to hear the recital went well!!! I bet Stephanie looked like a pretty princess!! princess:
Have fun relaxing by the pool!!! You deserve it!! :thumbsup2

mac Hope you had some help cleaning up your yard!! ::yes::

Well, I have to get catch up on doing the laundry!! Woohooo!! :laundy:
DH is at my mom's still trying to finish up working on her bathroom. I can't wait till he's done there as I have a bunch of stuff I need him to do here!! :teeth:

Have a great day everyone!! :flower3:

Well, today is the big day - I'M OFFICIALLY OPEN!!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Yesterday was a very relaxing day for me, and I really needed it too ::yes:: After we went to church, we came home and had some nice pool time. The girls played and played, and I laid and laid :teeth: I tried floating in the pool, but the breeze was a little cool. So I laid on the lounge chair for 3 hours - it was heaven:cloud9: Then last night we watched tv, and I was in bed by 10:15:thumbsup2 (which was great, because all last week I was coming home at 10:15pm.)

Today is the start of Katie going to school everyday - she's not happy:sad2: That makes me feel bad, but I know she will have loads of fun once she starts getting into the everyday routine. Katie has a hard time with changing her schedule, so I hope it doesn't take her a long time to adapt.

Stephanie goes to work with me on Monday's and Thursday's, so she has no daycare today. My mom, brother, and SIL are going to surprise Stephanie by taking her miniture golfing and out to lunch today - she's going to love that!!! :yay: I can hardly wait to tell her later (after Katie is at school).

Bunchkin - Putting up a tent in that wind would be difficult - I didn't think of that:rolleyes: You would have been like Mary Poppins if the wind got a hold of that while you were putting it up - not good!!!:sad2: I'm glad it still all worked out great, and that you had enough room inside.

Mac - Thanks for the listings!!! :)

Well, I gotta get ready for work, so I can clean some house before I go. Have a good day today everyone!!!

slo, i hope that today will be great on your opening of the store.
kids adjust in time. your little might really enjoy the daycare after a week of finding new friends there.

i wish you the best!!

Morning all. Quick fly-by.
Bunchkin, glad the camp-in went well.
Slo, HURRAY for your day Friday and good luck with opening day!!!!
Mac, thanks for the listings.
Last PTO meeting tonight. DD has her awards ceremony today. DS has his picnic. I have a meeting at work this afternoon. DD has private ballet lesson 3:30 then jazz/tap at 5:30. :faint:
Tomorrow is last day of school FINALLY!!! Kids wanted to go to afterschool care so they will stay late. They are having one of those jump things for thier final day and getting all the kids together from the other elementary as well. Kids will get to see some of their old friends.
Well, better dash. DD wants to get to school a little early to help her teacher clean out her room. I think she is just going through her sad, end of the year, I am going to miss my teacher, thing.:rolleyes1
Later.
Looks like it is going to be a great day/week.

Good morning everyone!!! :wave2:

Us sleepy heads didn't get up until 8:30!!! Hunter wasn't up till about 9:20!!!!! We never sleep late around here!!...but it felt great!!! ;)

Ok, so we never got to put the tent up for the camp out because of the wind, but we did put it up yesterday for the kids and their friends to play in!! :rotfl:
One of the neighbors was having a party and a lot of the kids from several houses were playing together since our yards all meet up to each other.
One of the big boys (from this party) was play fighting with the girls and ended up kicking Lauren in her chest!!! VERY HARD!! It knocked the wind right out of her and she was in some serious pain. :sad1:
It did end up were a relative (our one neighbor) brought him over to apologize to Lauren.
But Lauren was quite shook up over it and of course in pain.
It was one of those 'if you're going to play with fire you're going to get burned' lessons of life. :sad2:

Other then that , yesterday was great! Got to meet a new neighbor who just happens to be a Girl Scout leader and they're going on their first trip to WDW in Aug. so we had a lot to talk about! :)

slo Have a great 1st day at the store!!!!
Is there a mini golf place still on Indianapolis? ( I think that's the right street??) We've golfed there before....many, many, many moons ago!!! :)

Tiggerrn I can't believe your kids are not out of school yet!!
When do they go back? Hopefully later then everyone else!!!

mac Thanks for the tv listings! :)

Sam Packing for your trip to MO yet?
2671.gif

Hey Bunchkin...no not yet, although I do need to do that don't I. I am excited about this trip, but yet not? I know we are going to have fun, but I'm just not that revved up about it. I will pull the suitcases out this evening (empty out all the Disney stuff) and then get busy getting some of things in there.

We did go Bass Pro in Bolingbrook yesterday and that was nice. I want to eat at that restaurant there, Isla Morada. Looks really nice!! I got a life jacket and so did Megan. We also found some jibbitz packs. We came home, washed our Crocs and put the jibbitz in. Yeehaw! Lots of jibbitz now!

I need to get cracking on getting some snack items together too for the ride and some grocery things. We have to get some things together for Megan as well like the portable DVD player, some movies, workbooks, etc. Stuff to keep her busy to and from Branson.

It was a fast weekend that's for sure. I just need to keep on top of the laundry this week too. At least a couple loads each night!

:dance3:

Hope everyone else has a good week!!

I'm taking some DIS time while eating my lunch :teeth:

Thanks everyone for the well wishes on my first day being open - I appreicate it
I've already had 2 framing orders today - so that makes me happy :woohoo:
I will be even more happy if I have another one today :wizard:

Stephanie was so excited to go mini-golfing today - she'll have lots of fun!!!

Mac - Katie has actually been going to daycare since she was 6 weeks old, but for the last year she's been only going 2 days a week. She actually loves the dacare, and everyone in it, but she loves being at home too. She'll adjust real fast when the ice cream man comes on Wednesday :teeth:

Tigggernnnnnn - I hope Kellie and Kyle have a great last day at school today:teacher:

Bunchkin - I'm so sorry to hear about poor Lauren getting hurt  I hope she doesn't have a big bruise on her chest :guilty:
**They are going to the mini-golf place on Indianapolis (in Shererville - it's called Shererville Golf and Fun Center). They also have Go Karts, arcade, driving range and batting cages. It's a very popular place :)

Sam - Did Megan start her summer program today?

Well, I gotta go finish my lunch
Have a good rest of the day!!!

Great news on the two orders Slo!!

I am planning to take Kevin to the zoo on Friday. I can't recall if I shared this, but he wants to be a Marine Biologist. With the new ray exhibit, I thought he would love a day ther by himself, no pesty little siblings to bug him. Saw that they also have a special breakfast encounter that we may sign him up for later this summer.
Has anyone gone there yet? We plan to go first thing in the morning to avoid the crowds and heat. (they are calling for 90º's)

Slo: Congrats on making it through the weekend! Megan started her summer program last Wednesday. She likes it and Dan has a hard time getting her to leave. This morning though, she was a bit hesitant about going in. She's fine once she's engaged in an activity, but first thing in the morning is hard for her. It seems like all the kids there have been together a while and have their own groups already. Megan is sort of intimidated when she first gets there and today, I explained to the counselors that she just needs a little push toward an activity or something and she's fine, but when we walk in and no one says Good Morning or hey Megan we have this going on over here, or this going on over there, she sort of just stands there. I really feel bad for her then. So, today I spoke up.

Bunchkin: Hey sorry about Lauren getting kicked by that boy. Megan learned that lesson too. She tends to get rambunctious with her brother and although he would never hurt her on purpose, she's ended up getting hurt and I tell her the same thing. You can't expect to play with the big dogs at this age, and not get hurt (physically or emotionally). I hope she's doing a lot better today.
