Becky Sorry to hear about your garage door. I used Allied garage I think they are out of Addison they should go out your whay too. Their prices didn't seem so bad. Check out your phone book for coupons.

Mac the blue place has cured me I think. My cold seems to be going into remission. :cool1: WOW I wonder if they would pay me to be a spokesperson.;)

Hey all. Work was slow this evening. I put my name down for a requested day off no pay tomorrow. I have a seminar on Tues. so that will make up for the lost money. I would rather be home with the kids since it is supposed to be so nice!!
Seminar is in Oak Brook at Magianos. Stop in and say hey there all you northerners.
Kids had a fun day today. Soccer this am and then they went fishing with Grandpa, then to McDonalds then to the local ice cream shop and then to play at the park. They should be out cold.
DH is at the races in IN tonight. He has been working on building a stock car with a couple friends and they are racing it tonight. I hope it doesn't fall apart on them. :rotfl: Slo, didn't you say your DH likes racing? They are out your way tonight.
Well, I'm off to bed just in case I don't get the day off. I would have to get up at 5. So sweet sleeps all of you. Have a great day tomorrow.

Today is going to be so beautiful isn't it?!?! :sunny:
We are going to be outside all day - we have so much work to do.
On the "to do" list for today is picking up tons of leaves in the rocks, and under bushes. Our tree in the backyard keeps it's leaves all winter, and then sheds them early spring - I hate it:headache: !!! I would much rather pick up leaves in the fall, than in the spring.

Next to talk about - my number got picked for jury duty:guilty: So that means I have to go in tomorrow - by 8am!!!! Katie is going to really hate keeping up so early to go to my mom's:mad: So, now I'm really hoping that I don't get picked to be on an actual jury - I just don't have time for this right now:sad2: There are so many appointments that have to be cancelled or put on a "maybe" status - it's just a bummer!!!!!

Debbie - Thanks for the happy birthday wishes for my mom :goodvibes

macraven - welcome home!!! I'm glad you made it back safe and sound!!:)

Sam - I did laundry too while being outside yesterday:laundy: I hope you got as much done as I did :)

Becky - I'm sorry to hear about the garage door:guilty: Have you ever heard it when the spring goes - IT'S LOUD!!!!!!! I hope it gets fixed quick for you :wizard:

HERSEY - :wave2:

Tiggeerrrnnnnn - Yes, Kevin loves racing!!!! :goodvibes How fun that your DH has a stock car - how did they do last night??? Have you ever gone out to Illiana? I haven't, but Kevin has a couple of times. We have someone on the fire dept that also races a stock car out there - Kevin does some or all of the decals for his car. :car:

Well, I gotta run and get some things done before we go outside
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Good morning, everyone!!

I hope all of you are doing well. DH doesn't think there is any fix to my laptop. I am calling Sony today to order a new Vaio laptop. :woohoo:

We're hoping Best Buy can restore my old laptop enough for DS to use it. I'm hoping for him to be able to just use the Microsoft Word. He doesn't need internet access. But, if he was able to have Word, I wouldn't have to type his papers anymore!! ;)

We were able to get tickets to yesterday's Cubs'/Cardinals' game. We had great seats and the day was beautiful!! The Cubs won, which made it even better!! :yay:

Today, we need to head to the school. DH and DS are playing in a basketball game. It's parents against kids. DH also has to play against the 4th grade girls since he coached them this year. Both DH and DS are really looking forward to it.

Okay - need to get moving. Have a great day! It's beautiful out there, again!! :dance3:

Hi Guys....I just posted this thread and thought I would put it here too. I am searching and searching....I will be calling WDW today too to check AAA rates for June and November. For that November trip I REALLY wish they would announce the MVMCP dates!

Have a great NICE Sunday! Enjoy the sunshine!!!!

The Dis helped me back in October 2006 with a GREAT :cool1: price on a rent a car! It was too good to be true and I guess I am just hoping it can happen again. I think we paid $104.00 for over a week! I know....probably won't see that price again! Someone actually put my dates in and worked the whole thing out for me!! That sweet Diser:cloud9: .

We are flying in and out of Ft Myers Florida June 2nd thru the 11th. The lowest I have gotten was thru Costco @ $216.00 TOTAL for a full size car.
Do you think this is as good as it will get?

Ideas? Opinions? Sugeestions?

I don't make a vacation move anymore without checking with my DIS friends!

Good Sunday morning-
Yesterday, Matthew raced in the Pinewood Derby districts- held at one of our jr. highs. Unfortunately he didn't rank well after racing a few times:guilty: . No trophy or medal this time, tho he earned a patch for participating. He was pretty sad when he came home. We cheered him up and he was better. :) Sounded like a couple of boys in his den ranked pretty well and got trophies. I told Matthew how much he has accomplished, going to Districts!
Today, Matthew has swimming lessons, the first of 5 weeks of class. Chrissy will also need swimming lessons, but we usually sign her up with a non-park district.

Slo- sorry about jury duty.Hope you don't get picked on a jury.:wizard:

Becky- hope all goes well with fixing your garage door. It's always something, isn't it, with getting things fixed.:sad2: Well, better now when the weather is nice than in the freezing and snowy winter.

mvazul- glad you had a great time at the Cubs game and they won! :cool1:
I can't remember, is it you or someone else here that lives in Wrigleyville?
(lives a few blocks from Wrigley).

Tiggerrn- hope you are off of work today!:)

Hi to Mac, SamIAm, Debbie, Hersey, and anyone else I missed :wave2:

I agree about AAA, you do save some money, even non-Disney!
I already booked hotel very close to Hershey Park with a AAA discount.
Just recently booked hotel in Ohio(halfway point of driving), using AAA discount. AAA is SO worth it! Have been a member of AAA for about 12 years. Originally got AAA b/c of if get flat tire or get stalled on the road/highway,etc, which that has happened to us a few times.

Enjoy the beautiful day everyone!

i'm headed out to church now, i got your backs for the week homies.

when our garage door broke a spring, i went to ace hardware store in town and they told me what to do and what to buy. i gave them the info on what type of door and opener we had.

they had a list of local handymen that does the door installations for them and said i could call any of them as they work a lot cheaper.
think it cost me $25 to have it fixed last year.

roseprincess, did you take matthew to the blue resturant to make him feel better after the derby race?

did you see how it made our other homie well after being sick?

the blue resturant rules............

gotta go now.

hi and bye to all the chgoland homies here..:wave2: :wave2: :wave2: :wave2: :wave2: :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

Debbie- did you try Dollar Rental? They maybe reasonably priced for renting.
All I know is when we went on our Make-A-Wish trip, they booked Dollar Rental from Orlando airport.
I know by me, we have Enterprise and Budget Rentals. I know I need to check out rental prices soon for our trip to PA. That's my next step.

Do you have an Entertainment coupon book? They have car rental coupons in there.

Good Morning!! :wave2:

What a beautiful weekend!!! :goodvibes

Yesterday was so busy for us. Taking care of things outside, cleaning and laundry inside.
Had a couple friends over for a bbq and then after dinner Tony took the kids fishing at the big pond in our subdivision.
It was a fun day!! :)

slo I hope you don't get picked for a trial!!! :sad2:
And at least you have nice weather for all that yard work to be done. ;)

hersey Did AAA book your trip for you?
I thought you were going mid-Sept?

Tiggerrn Hope you got the day off!! :thumbsup2
Sounds like you guys had a fun day yesterday!! :)

mvazul It's always GREAT to go see the Cubs play AND have them win!! :rotfl: ;)

Well gotta run for now. More laundry to do and I need to clean upstairs today. And there is more company coming over later....but it's just my mom so no big deal!! ;)
And I need to bake 2 dozen cookies for a Tea being held at Hunter's school tomorrow. :)

TTFN!!!:tigger:

roseprincess, did you take matthew to the blue resturant to make him feel better after the derby race?

the blue resturant rules............
Unfortunately, no :guilty: . A quick phone call to my dad helped alot, as my dad is encouraging to Matthew :thumbsup2 We did have stuffed cheese crust DiGourno frozen pizza for an early dinner before we left for church last evening. Stuffed cheese crust pizza ALWAYS puts the kids in a good mood! :thumbsup2

The local blue restaurant is about 4 or 5 miles from me, the opposite direction than how we usually travel. I will let you know when I make a visit to the blue restaurant :)

Good Morning! I just wanted to stop in and wish everyone a Happy Day!

Enjoy the weather!

Ann

Good morning everyone. I have the day shift off!!! Still to be determined if I will need to go in from 3-7pm.
Sandy, DH was at the Illiana Motor Speedway last night. That was where they raced the car. For the March of Dimes. It's not his car. He just helped two guys put it together. He had a good time. The car entered and won 2 races.:thumbsup2

if anyone wants the coupons in this years entertainment book, contact me.
i will give them away to you.

i have the chgoland north book and it is good for all of the car rental places

Becky - I'm sorry to hear about the garage door:guilty: Have you ever heard it when the spring goes - IT'S LOUD!!!!!!! I hope it gets fixed quick for you :wizard:

Considering it went up a little & back down, we didn't hear just how loud it was until DH released the emergency handle from the garge door opener and the door went SLAMMING down completely (that's with the door shut but apparently there is still a small space). Poor DD screamed and went flying over to me with tears as it scared the bejeepers out of her (and she wasn't even NEAR the door). I jumped too since neither of us were expecting that. I think it startled her more than anything else. It must have snapped completely when I closed it as I left to take DD to the gymnastics meet because it closed OK then & I got the car out of the garage OK.

when our garage door broke a spring, i went to ace hardware store in town and they told me what to do and what to buy. i gave them the info on what type of door and opener we had.

they had a list of local handymen that does the door installations for them and said i could call any of them as they work a lot cheaper.
think it cost me $25 to have it fixed last year.

Normally that is what DH would have done -- run out to Home Depot/Ace Hardware or something and take care of it. However, he told me garage door springs are not something he messes with...so off to call the repairman he went.

They were here and fixed it -- not as bad as I expected. It was about $300 or so. I had envisioned many more $$$. They did say we need a new door though (which is probably true) so DH asked them about how much and then went on-line looking at Home Depot, etc... to see how much cheaper he could do it himself, etc... We will see how it all works out but that was NOT on my agenda for the year. :rotfl2: I expect my house to just never fall apart so I don't have to plan for it. ;)

I have to take DS-6 off to a Cub Scout meeting in a little bit. Luckily, it's within walking distance of our house, so we are just going to walk there with it being so nice out.

becky, i too hate to spend that type of money.

but i don't think twice of spending it if it is for the motherland or for chocolate

Hi all!!!! :wave2:

What a very productive day here at our house.
I picked up so many leaves, that my arms feel like they are going to fall off :faint: Plus, they got pretty sunburned too - my first official sunburn of 2007 :sunny:
My knees are killing me from all that squatting - my physical therapists are going to kill me.
Luckily, Stephanie helped me for an 1 1/2 hours with picking leaves out the rocks. She wasn't happy about it:sad2: , but I told her that she will get paid.

I'm really not looking forward to tomorrow:sad2: , and I wanted to let everyone know, that I won't be checking in tomorrow morning - I won't have time:sad1: . I need to be out of the house be 7:30am to get to the court house by 8am.

mvazul - I"m glad you had fun at the game :cool1:

Debbie - I hope you are able to get some help from your thread:wizard:

Rose - I'm sorry Matthew didn't do well at Pinewood Derby  It's always so hard for kids to understand things like that. I'm sure he will do better next time!!!! :wizard:

Bunchkin - Tony must be feeling better since he took the kids fishing - that's great!!!!! :yay: All the PD I sent must have worked!!!! :woohoo:

maiziezoe - :wave2:

Tiggerrrrrnnnnn - That's great about the car winning 2 races :yay: I figured you were at Illiana ::yes:: We sometimes can here those cars racing at our house :car:

Becky - I'm glad you got the garage door fixed. I don't blame your DH for not wanting to do it - those springs can be dangerous if they snap at you the wrong way

mac - :wave2:

Well, I must run and put my girls to bed princess: princess: Katie just informed me that she's tired :faint:

Have a good rest of the night everyone!!!!

Hi ..

I have been busy doing errands and working around the house.

Rose - please tell Mathew to realise that very few kids win to go to the district pinewood. So just being there is an honor.

Becky - I'm glad you got the garage door fixed.

SLO hope that you just sit there and don't get picked for a trial..

Hi everyone else.. gotta go and be the witch with the kids to get them to finish picking up and get ready for bed..

 All!!! Long time for me so, here's my attempt at catching up.....:grouphug:
I couldn't find anything on Six Flags direct website so I went searching on-line and this is what I found

http://www.pioneerlocal.com/gurnee/news/328679,gu-sixflags-040507-s1.article

Also -- I thought the Twicket/2nd day ticket had to be for the following day but according to that article it sounds like it can be for *any* day up to Sept. 15. Is that correct? I have never done those because I always thought it was for the exact following day (and we never go 2 days right in a row).

"Additionally, all Coasters For A Cause ticket holders will receive 25 percent off on select Six Flags merchandise sold in the park. Guests may also return to the park any day before Sept. 22 for $15, when they purchase an exclusive Multi Visit Pass on May 19"

(bolding is mine) I will have to look into this for Scouts day too then if it's an open-ended come back any day type of ticket.
Twicket USED TO BE Next Day only from what I remember. This new system does away with NEXT DAY ONLY and DOES MEAN ANY DAY until Sept. ??. (Not sure of that date) The other info you posted/found is correct tho. I bought our tickets for the Coaster date last night! So, we're going 5/19 and plan to buy a f/k/a Twicket. ;)

A few errands to run today. Tony is coming with for the drive as he's getting bored being at home. When you work constantly it's hard to sit and do nothing. He even asked if I needed help with doing anything this morning!! Of course I said "Oh, sure you ask this when you're not supposed to be straining yourself!!!".

Kim I hope your DH starts to feel better soon!!

So are you not sure you can make the bowling meet?...is that what you mean?
Movie meet sounds great to me too!!
"getting bored" is how it starts! ;) These guys can't just sit still! :confused3 I hope Tony continues to improve!!! :thumbsup2 Thanks for my DH wishes also!

Bowling?? I don't know the details, besides the date. :confused3

Movie meet? When/where?? :confused3

Kim is your Dh up and around better these days?
Thanks, more and more each day but still under strict orders not to lift over a gallon of milk, weight-wise. He can't mow the lawn, vacuum, take out the garbage but, he CAN stand at the sink and do dishes! :thumbsup2

Tony and I took Hunter to school today and then went out to lunch together. It was nice especially since this like never happens that often!!
That is sooo nice, I know! Same here for us. Breakfast, lunch, it's just nice to have some alone time (when they can't 'DO' anything else :lmao: with no kids around. ;) )

So, you want to have another baby??? :goodvibes Keep holding those 'rentals' for awhile and, listen to their Moms! ;)

Glad to hear your Mom is going with you next time! :goodvibes

my number got picked for jury duty
I hope you're outta there ASAP! (I got lucky myself last time, outta there before lunch - hope the same for you!:thumbsup2 )

We were able to get tickets to yesterday's Cubs'/Cardinals' game. We had great seats and the day was beautiful!! The Cubs won, which made it even better!!
What ELSE is there to say?!?!? :cool1: :thumbsup2 :woohoo: ;)

Unfortunately he didn't rank well after racing a few times. No trophy or medal this time, tho he earned a patch for participating.
Rose, you tell Matthew that we are ALL proud of him here at the DIS!! Way to Go Matthew!!! That was great!!! :cheer2: :woohoo:

Good luck with the swimming for both of them. Kelly has yet to take a course herself. :guilty:

Have a great day everyone!!!! :grouphug:
