Hi guys and gals,
Does anyone know Saint Viator High School in arlington heights? The show choir and concert choir were both approved to perfrom at disney this last march.
Here is a lik to the concert choir. (apparently utube does not do widescreen or DW uploaded it improperly, hhehheee)

It's so cool to browse this thread and see all the local towns.

Hi all!!
Kim - How is your DH doing?
A little better everyday, thanks, but no more pain meds starting today. Everything he did today really hurt. :guilty: He is co-coaching Kelly's softball team again this year and, he went to 2 practices this week (sitting in a chair behind the backstop) and, he was just worn out!

That is weird! I wonder if it's a seperate deal? I don't see the picnic as an option on yours so maybe a special group discount is applying even though technically not Scouts day. :confused3

I know on our council website it said May 5 & June 2 but I think that was a typo on the GS part. Last year it was the first weekend in May, so I think they just guessed it would be that same weekend. I'll have to look and see if May 19 is a good day for us -- we may just have to go through your council. I looked and yours says it's due to Family Community Parternship as opposed to it being Scouts day (the Six Flags logo has "Coasters for a Cause" on it but I don't know if that is going on that day or something).

:thumbsup2 that anyone can go get tickets. I know I walked into our council shop, bought the tickets and they never asked me anything regarding if we were Girl Scouts, etc...
You are right, the 5/19 date is a Coasters for a Cause promo which the GS got involved with somehow. :confused3 I asked our troop leader to look into the Troop Days and see what the differences are. The meal option on Troop Days sounds great! We've done that before with a different group and, the food isn't bad! It's surely cheaper than if you tried to feed your family at the food court! I have to believe tho, that with either ticket/deal, the twicket/2nd day option is available and, that's what I'm also interested in. Thanks again for your info and link!:thumbsup2

In fact they let him go home last night at around 8pm.
Can you believe it??? I thought for sure they would make him stay over night.
So he's recuperating at home now. Incisions are hurting a bit but that is to be expected.
No driving or working for about a week.
And he has a follow up visit with the doctor next Wednesday.

I promise to post soon about the bowling meet next weekend.
I think, like I said before, that we will just pick a time to meet and hope that lanes are open and take our chances since there will be leagues there bowling too. Remember there is also bumper cars and an arcade and food too.

There are some really good movies coming out soon!!!
Shrek 3, Pirates 3, Ratatouille, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix!!!!
Maybe one of these can be a meet too.
Glad Tony is home, Nicole! Most people don't want to stay in the hospital, if they don't have to but, I TOTALLY AGREE about them 'shipping out' patients ASAP! :scared1: Marty had surgery somewhere between 2:30-4, I'm not sure exactly, he left me at 2:30. :confused3 The surgeon came to me at 4:20 and I had to wait 1 hour after that before seeing him after the recovery room, so that was 5:20. We were in the van driving home at 6:30!! Oh, and the bills have already started appearing! We're near $12,000 and the actual surgeon and anesthesiologist bills haven't been received yet. UNbelievable. :sad2: How's Tony doing after another day??

I don't know about the bowling meet?? :confused3

A movie meet sounds great, too!! :thumbsup2

THANKS MIkeeee! I know of St. Viator! I work in Mt. Prospect. Congrats to them!!! :thumbsup2

'Nite all, from me. :grouphug:

Hope it's ok for me to post this here. We'll be coming down to Chicago from Southern Wisconsin next Saturday on a bus trip. We're planning on going to Shedd Aquarium. Should I buy my tickets ahead of time or will I be ok buying them when I get there? We'll be getting there around 11:00 a.m. We may go to Adler Planetarium also. This is new for us (taking the bus, it drops us off at 1 of 5 stops and picks us up after). If we like it, we may do it again. I would like to stay a weekend in Chicago sometime! There are so many things we'd like to do. Any other advise for Shedd Aquarium or Adler Planetarium?
Thanks so much! :) :goodvibes

Hi there, and welcome to our thread!!! :welcome:
You can come post questions here, anytime you want ::yes::

I personally would buy them ahead of time, because many children are on spring break around here. I'd hate for you to have to stand in line for a long time after your long drive. :car:

When it comes to the Adler Planetarium, I'm embarrassed to say, I've never been there  I need to go sometime so I don't die saying I've never been to The Adler Planetarium

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask them here

I am so tired this morning!!!!
Katie had a case of insomnia last night and was up from 1am to 4am, which means I was up from 1am to 4am :faint:
God Bless her though - she stayed in her bed and listened to her music the whole time. She would softly call to me sometimes saying she had to go potty, or her music was over, or just plain saying, "I can't sleep:guilty: "
All I know is, I sure hope she sleeps tonight :faint:

Today is another very busy day for me
I have many errands to run this morning, and than my family is coming over at 4:30pm for dinner - it's my mom's 60th birthday :bday:

Becky - Thanks for G.A. info :)

Rose - Did Chrissy and Matthew enjoy the symphony? Stephanie really did when she went with her
pre-K class :)

Debbie - Happy belated your mom!!! :bday: I'm glad you both had a nice time celebrating it :goodvibes

Mac - Be careful driving to Macomb :drive:

Bunchkin - I'm glad Tony is home where he is most comfortable :goodvibes Tell Tony I will continue to send loads of PD his way :wizard: :wizard:
**How did your laundry go last night:laundy: My dirty dishes cleaned up faster than I thought they would - which made me pretty happy!!! :thumbsup2

Tiggerrrrrnnnn - I'm sorry Tiggs was naughty :guilty: :dog: I hope you can get that part for your CD player :wizard:

HERSEY - :wave2:

JR - Welcome to our thread!!!!! :welcome: Our thread is fun - please post often!!!
**Thanks for the links - I will take a look at them later today :)
**I see you are coming to Indy soon - do you enjoy auto racing? or are you going with someone that enjoys auto racing? My DH is a major auto racing fan - he goes to the IMS (Indianapolis Motor Speedway) every weekend during the month of May.

Kim - I'm glad your DH is starting to feel a little better. I remember when I had my gall bladder out - I was sore for a long time. I will continue to send him lots of PD :wizard: :wizard:

Well, I gotta run and get Steph up for school :teacher:
Have a great day today everyone!!!

I couldn't find anything on Six Flags direct website so I went searching on-line and this is what I found

http://www.pioneerlocal.com/gurnee/news/328679,gu-sixflags-040507-s1.article

Also -- I thought the Twicket/2nd day ticket had to be for the following day but according to that article it sounds like it can be for *any* day up to Sept. 15. Is that correct? I have never done those because I always thought it was for the exact following day (and we never go 2 days right in a row).

"Additionally, all Coasters For A Cause ticket holders will receive 25 percent off on select Six Flags merchandise sold in the park. Guests may also return to the park any day before Sept. 22 for $15, when they purchase an exclusive Multi Visit Pass on May 19"

(bolding is mine) I will have to look into this for Scouts day too then if it's an open-ended come back any day type of ticket.

I might have to look around and see which groups are selling the Premium tickets though because basically those are Early Entry ones. I saw the Lung Cancer society is selling them and probably others. I was thinking you had to ride the Roller Coasters X amount of time or something to raise funds but it's basically the groups get to keep X amount of dollars per ticket sold.

:welcome: I would get the tickets ahead of time. I know when I went over our Spring break people on the bus back to the train said it was crowded. I also have never been to Adler Planetarium (maybe 1 time as a field trip in school -- I vaguely remember sitting in an auditorium and then they turned out the lights & constellations showed up -- so I'm thinking that had to be the Planetarium but that's all I remember about it.)

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I've been MIA, but it's been a busy week here and I'll be out of the office again tomorrow for Megan's "Eat Lunch With Your Child Day" at school. Can't wait to experience that good ole cafeteria food again. :rotfl2:

Bunchkin, figures my DH would get a flat tire in your driveway on a day when you want Tony to rest? I gave Dan the :scared1: look and said, I hope you didn't have Tony help you!! Of course, I got the  as he said, well no DUH, I wouldn't let a guy who just had surgery 24 hours ago help me change a tire. But, thankfully, he was able to change it in a safe place and not on the side of the road, so thanks for having such a nice driveway! :upsidedow

Well, we are supposed to have a really nice weekend, which is much appreciated as the weather in Florida wasn't exactly wonderful all last week. So, it will be nice to have good weather right here at home!

Take care and talk to y'all later.

Bunchkin, I bet all our Disney pixie dust will get us out on the lanes next week in no time flat!! Think positive right!

Morning everyone. I feel like such a loafer. You all seem so busy. I can't seem to get myself in motion to do anything today. I do need to go to Target today. Need the essentials.
Need to do some housework, too. And :surfweb: here I sit.:lmao:
Bunchkin, hope Tony is feeling better a bit today.
SamIAm, sorry about the flat. What a bummer.
We do need some better weather. Maybe that is my problem.
We have a staff meeting at work today. Not going. Just don't feel like driving 15miles there and back again this week for 1 hour.
Well, I guess I'd better get up from this chair and do something. Have a good day all.

Good morning all!!

Better day here!! Although I still feel 'vacation hung over'!! :rotfl:

A few errands to run today. Tony is coming with for the drive as he's getting bored being at home. When you work constantly it's hard to sit and do nothing. He even asked if I needed help with doing anything this morning!! :rotfl: Of course I said "Oh, sure you ask this when you're not supposed to be straining yourself!!!".

Kim I hope your DH starts to feel better soon!!
Those hospital bills can be a killer!! I know, between my foot surgery and heart procedure last year I was VERY grateful to have excellent health insurance!!!! My heart procedure bills alone totalled OVER $100,000!!!!!! :scared1: :faint:

So are you not sure you can make the bowling meet?...is that what you mean?
Movie meet sounds great to me too!!

Sam When I first saw Dan's flat tire he told me he was going to drive home on it!!! So I suggested filling it with air, but my little compressor didn't stretch all the way to the tire....and the tire by then had gone completely FLAT!
So I suggested he change it here instead of not making it home and being stuck on Rt. 6 where there is no shoulder room to pull over onto. ;)
Of course Tony didn't help him....but we did both watch Dan work!!!
Nothing better than watching someone do manual labor!!! :rotfl: ;)

Let's hope that the bowling leagues end early or that at least we can participate in some of the other fun things there instead! ;)
I don't know much about my luck lately!!! I think it has RUN OUT!!! :headache: :rolleyes1

slo Sorry to hear about your and Katie's sleepless night!!
You must be so tired this morning.
I did go fold some laundry, put a new load in the dryer and one into the washer. And I got the kids to have a snack and get ready for bed on time. But then I got busy (i.e. zoned out!!! :teeth: ) watching 2 hours of Lost last night and never got back upstairs to the load in the washer until 10pm!! :rolleyes1 :)

How is Kevin enjoying his Pace car? Tony thought that was really cool!! ::yes:: Does it still have all it's stickers on it?

Tiggerrn Hope you can find a replacemnet cord for your cd player.
Thanks for asking about Tony, he's on the mend for sure!! ::yes::

Lauren and Hunter asked Grandma to come with to WDW in Sept when they were at her house the other day while I was at the hospital.
They both really wanted her to come with last fall but she couldn't go because she was watching my sister's son everday while she worked.
Not the case anymore, so she is coming with us!! The kids are really excited. The only thing is we had to change our resort we planned to stay at with SamIAm (sorry again about that Sam :( ).
We are staying at the Poly for the extra room, 2 queens and a day bed.
And to be on the monorail so Grandma has less walking to do.

slo You've stayed at the Poly many times. What's your opinion of it?

Well, I gotta run and get out! :wave2:

Hi everyone! :wave2:

I've gotten totally behind on the thread. :sad2: I still plan to catch up!

I'm in my new house now. I've done a little unpacking, but not as much as I should have. So what have I been doing if I haven't been unpacking and I haven't been on the DIS as much? Umm, I've gotten a little addicted to the American Idol boards out there. :rolleyes1 :rotfl: It's so pathetic! :rotfl2:

But the house is going ok. I can function, although the other day I was ripping open boxes like a madwoman looking for stamps to mail my tax estimates. I'm doing ok with the new train station. I love just being able to drive there! I'm about two minutes away!

Work has been crazy busy...for everyone else. <<knocks on wood>> We have an audit that has been dragging on forever, but since I switched bosses I haven't really had to get that involved with it, so a lot of my co-workers are staying until around midnight every night, and I'm leaving at the normal time. I feel really bad...but not bad enough to stay! But get this. They got a rooftop for the Cubs game on Friday for us, because of all the extra work everyone's been doing, and then yesterday they sent out an e-mail cancelling it because there's too much work left! :rotfl: :lmao: And then today they sent an e-mail to some of us (those of us who aren't really involved with the audit) saying that we could go tomorrow, because we still have the rooftop and someone needs to use it. So the people that are really working hard don't get to go but those of us who aren't working as hard get to?!? Crazy! I just feel this resentment building towards us, but it's like, what can I do?

I hope everything is going well with everyone. I swear I'm going to try to catch up! :goodvibes

ETA: I'm still up for the bowling meet on April 28!

Hey no need to apologize, but I did realize something this morning after you mentioned that we should now be looking at the 19th through the 23rd. My 10th wedding anniversary is 9/20. I am wondering just how freaked out Dan would be about me not being home on our 10th Wedding Anniversary. So, I'm going to have to bring that up with him tonight. It might change things a little for me too. We'll see...

OK there really needs to be a warning label outside Target stating "STAY AWAY":rotfl2:
I know why I have avoided making that trip. $191.:scared1: that's why!!!:lmao: To be fair, we were out of nearly all cleaning stuffs and toiletries, kids and DH needed socks, dog needed food, and kids needs sandals. OK well, didn't NEED sandals, but I find that if you don't get them early, Target will be out of the size you need later.
Better run, the bus is here. Kids need snack before DD goes off to ballet practice for 2 hours.:faint:
Later

OK there really needs to be a warning label outside Target stating "STAY AWAY":rotfl2:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I know that feeling. Lately for me though it's been JoAnn Fabrics -- I think I'm crafty & fabric is on sale & several dollars later I have stuff that I have no idea what I'm going to do with it but it was cute! It's all the DIS fault!!! Silly Family Board & their Kid's Boutique stuff!

Meijer is one I'm known for going in to pick up "milk & diapers" or something and come out with an entire cart full of stuff.

Oh who am I kidding -- it's just about any store that has multiple things. I always remember "oh yeah, we are out of XYZ and we could use some more ABC" stuff -- Wal-Mart; Target; Meijer doesn't matter.

Becky you are so right!!! That is why I have been staying at home being a loafer!!!:happytv: It's cheaper that way.
Of course, then all I do is eat!!!!:rotfl2:
Speaking of shopping. DD has a hole burning in her pocket with her birthday money, a 20%off for birthday month and a 2Bucks card at LimitedToo, so heading to Orland tomorrow after school for a shopping trip.
Anyone interested in meeting us there?
Gotta' run. Kids have soccer pix tonight. I'll check in later.
After:happytv: Grey's, Survivor and ER.
Hurray for Thursday nights!!!!

slo You've stayed at the Poly many times. What's your opinion of it?

I'm sorry I'm not responding to everything right now - I will tomorrow.

I'm so tired - I'm like a zombie.

My family just left, the girls are in bed, I'm in my jammies, and I'm about ready to go downstairs to watch ER (probably sleep through ER :faint: )

To answer your question in 2 words Nicole - LOVE IT!!!! :cloud9:

The rooms are a decent size, and they are newly refurbished - very nice!!!! :goodvibes

The main pool is very nice - the slide is awesome - Lauren and Hunter will love it!!!! :thumbsup2

The other pool is very quiet - a great place to relax:)

The overall feel of The Poly is just great - very warm and welcoming!!!! :goodvibes
All the cast member say "aloha" to you, and you just feel at home there:)

They have self-serve Dole Whips in Captain Cooks - which is an awesome addition!!! :teeth: On the topic of Captain Cooks - this is a great place to eat quick. They have Tonga Toast there for cheaper than The Kona Cafe, and it tastes exactly the same. The only difference is, they serve it on a paper plate instead of a real dish :)

If you have any questions about The Poly - let me know.
I stayed there twice as a kid, and Kevin and I stayed there 3 times. We really truly love it!!!!

Okay - Kevin is waiting to start the DVR for ER - gotta run!!!
Have a good night everyone!!!

T G I F!!!!!
:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

I'm happy to report that I didn't fall asleep during ER last night :teeth:

Becky - I always spend a ton of money at Meijer too ::yes::

Sam - I'm sorry the weather wasn't great while you were in Florida :guilty: I remember you saying it was hot, but did you have alot of rain too?
**Flat tires are such a bummer - I'm glad your DH was able to fix it!!!

Tiggerrrrrnn - I always spend a lot at Target too ::yes:: All that little stuff adds up so fast:rolleyes:

Bunchkin - How is Tony doing today? Continued PD coming his way!!! :wizard: :wizard:
**Kevin is loving his car  The car does still have all the stickers on it ::yes:: Someday Kevin will give Tony a spin in it :)

Leigh - I'm glad to hear you are starting to get settled into your new home :goodvibes Are you going to the Cubs game tonight? Or no, because some of the people you would go with are in the group that can't go?

Crissup - I think you are right about the sign!!!! ::yes::

Well, I gotta run and get Steph up for school:teacher:
Have a good day today everyone!!

Morning.. I'm Back.. Hi to all...

Back to a very messy house and loads of laundry and lots of stuff in the kitchen.. :scratchin looks like the boys were on their own..

Bunchy - how's Tony feeling?

Kim is your Dh up and around better these days?

Well I hate Vegas... I didn't realize that so many people smoked anymore.. YUCK.. it smelled everywhere!!! And I had to travel through a smokey casino to get to my room .. guys with the stripper cards on the street.. what is with that?? not a family type place IMHO.

The conference was great though..

gonna ketchup..

Hi all-

Welcome to the newbies here! :welcome:

Geffric- Welcome back! Sorry Vegas wasn't that good :guilty: I have never been there, but a co-worker of DH went for her 60th birthday last Fall with her husband. She is not a gambling type either. But she only wanted to go to see Celine Dion. She is a HUGE Celine fan and talked for years wanting to see her in a live performance.
She also saw the Cirque Du Soliel- Love performance. Dh's coworker also mentioned about the stripper cards, too, that they are everywhere on the streets  :scared: It was kinda of a shocker to her too. Defintely not a family type place, at least not in the downtown, casino areas :sad2:

Slo- Happy 60th birthday to your mom :bday: :cake: Did she do anything special for her birthday?
I watched ER last night and last week, too. Last night's episode was sad :guilty: The old man that has dementia. And Gates and the blonde girl/daughter thing. Almost sounds like ER is ending this yr? I don't know :confused3 I'm confused on that.

Leigh- glad all is going well with your new townhouse :thumbsup2

Ok, Talk later.
