KimRaye, hope your DD feels better. and your DH surgery goes well.
Welcome to the new friends on the thread. You'll enjoy it here.
Bunchkin, you packed yet? Kellie says she wants to go to Lauren's school next year. They get lots of vacation time!!:rotfl:
SamIAm, thanks for your compliment of the kids. Megan is adorable as well. We should get all the girls together again for a play date some time.
mvazul, what a shock!! Doesn't look like that much damage to cost so much. Figures. Hope you get it in and out quickly. (Sorry, that didn't sound quite right. ) I know how inconvenient driving a rental or someone else's vehicle can be.
Becky, I think I'd go without Mr. Grump and see how he likes being left at home. And I bet if you posted a date when you were able to go, you'd find at least one of us willing to go along.:thumbsup2
OK this weather has got to go. Bunchkin, I think I'll fit in your suitcase. This snow possibility has got to go.:scared1: I shopped today and it was beautiful. Now it is about 20 degrees cooler and raining and windy enough to take me to Kansas!!!
Well, I'm going to do a little :laundy: Kids need jeans for tomorrow. DD has a fieldtrip to Children's Museum in Bradley tomorrow. Figures I'd have to worry about my groups winter coats (IN APRIL)!!!
Sandy, pup is doing well. Likes our bedroom. I have to keep chasing him out to the kitchen.

I just realized why they're calling for snow this week(end)....my family is coming to town!! :lmao:

My sister was here in October and we had white out conditions the morning her plane landed. She flew into Midway, so I wanted to bring her back on the LSD. I love that drive - it is sooo beautiful. Well, that morning we couldn't see the bumper of the car in front of us let alone anything in the city!! I kept pointing out, "That is where you would see the Sears Tower if you could actually see it!!" Or, "Trust me, the John Hancock is there." Also, "That is the Lincoln Park Zoo over there. What do you mean you can't see the polar bears???" :rotfl:

So, blame it on my family. They will be arriving sometime Friday. DH says we will have a blizzard while they're here!! :rolleyes1

I just did the SAME thing! Except my 6 year seems to not have a spring jacket. Anyway I was going through his backpack & thought I can probably take out his hat & gloves, to which DD responded "It's supposed to snow tomorrow" :scared1: So, I stuck them back in there! Who ever heard of such a crazy thing! Lugging your hat & gloves in April! Geesh!

we've had snow in may before.

:ssst: Maybe if we don't say anything it will go away. ;)

My DH always likes to remind me he has seen it snow in June before but I think he's insane. Although, I did see some brief snow showers once in some bizarre month like that but decided I was hallucinating even if I wasn't. It was a very brief "is that what I think it is?" moments & it didn't stick but it certainly was that icky white stuff that does NOT belong in any months between April - October (preferably late November or December).

Yep....DH remembers snow in June, too, in Chicago. I remember snow in late May in PA, but never in June. What kind of state did I move to? The State of Insanity??? :lmao:

Let's all say it together....

It won't snow in June. It won't. It won't!!
It won't snow in June. It won't. It won't!!

:dance3:

:thumbsup2 I'll join your chant. I don't ever remember it snowing in June here but DH is older than I am so it must have happened when I was too young to really remember (or care for that matter). I liked snow a lot more when I was younger anyway -- the older I get the crankier I get about it. I'm probably going to end up being a snowbird or something (doubtful, I'll just hibernate in my house in the winter when I no longer have kids to drag to school. It's quite possible now to do that with grocery delivery & the internet! :lmao: )

As for the state of Insanity well.....;)

Welcome to the new posters!! And, Happy Birthday to those celebrating another year!!! And, hope everyone stays warm as the temperatures drop again. Don't worry, I'm sure the temperatures will stabilize by July!! ;)

it might have been prior to that

Kim It's a hard balance who needs you at what time. I agree when your DH has surgery he will need you more. Sorry Kelly is not feeling well Hopefully she will feel better very soon.
Thanks Hersey! :goodvibes

Kim - Congrats on the new job!!! :cheer2:
**I'm sorry to hear that Kelly is sick I will send lots of get well PD her way
**I hope your DH's surgery isn't for anything to serious. Keep us posted on how he is doing. (when is it?)
**I agree with how hard it can be to be a working mom when your children are sick. I learned this when Katie was a baby and was sick all the time - it's not easy!!!!:sad2: Lots of PD and hugs to you!!!
Thanks and Thanks and Thanks, Sandy! DHs surgery is for double hernia. His appt. with the surgeon is Wed. night. Not sure when surgery will be yet. :confused3

KimRaye hope Kelly is feeling better, and your DH is better too. When is the surgery? COngrats on the new job..
Thank you also! :goodvibes

Kim Sorry to hear Kelly is sick.
What type of surgery is DH having?
Thanks Nicole. Hernia surgery for DH. Nothing major but, double hernia and, he's scared. Poor guy. He forgets that Kelly had double hernia surgery 2 years ago and, she's ok now. ;)

Sorry the DD is sick. Hope DHs surgery is minor. Hang in there!

Still need to pay my deposit to school. VERY wishy washy about whether we are staying or not. Leaning towards staying at this point.
Thanks Debbie! Yes, minor surgery, as THEY say. :sad2:

Is DD entering Pre-K 4 or kndg in the fall? Please stay! I KNOW it's far for you, it is for me also but, we've loved it there, overall! Been there 15 years now and, my nephew is also there, he's in 8th grade. My niece might be entering Kndg in the fall because my DSIL was NOT happy with the overcrowding at Ebinger, which is 1 block from their house. I am hoping and praying they decide on St. Paul! :goodvibes :thumbsup2 I hope you do, too! :goodvibes

KimRaye- Hope Kelly gets better Hope all goes well with your DH's surgery
Thank you, thank you.

Starting the Happy 10th Birthday to Chrissy and Matthew!!Their birthday is tomorrow!! It's been a crazy road with my kids, sometimes too crazy, but I just love them!

:rotfl2: Yeah, that's a Tom Skilling forecast if ever I heard one! HOT!!!!!! :lmao:

mvazul SOO where was your family in 92 or 93??:rotfl: orrrr....

Was it because Mac went to the darkside?:rolleyes1

I had to put the heat back on. I want our warm back. How can the kids hunt for Easter eggs in this.

Ok need to chug some coffee I can't seem to wake up this morning.

:bday: :cake: x2 for Chrissy and Matthew

Luckily, we had no bad weather yesterday. In the morning before we left, I had a smidge of thunderstorm, but it was over as fast as it came. I was able to accomplish my goal of buying for the Easter baskets - I"m glad I'm done with that!!!!:)

Today, Katie and I have more errands to run to get ready for Easter. I wish it wasn't going to be so cold, but it's better than rain ::yes::

geffric - Happy Passover (do people say it that way?) I hope your Sedar went well yesterday. :)

mac - I agree with you about snow in May. Mine and Kevins (we went together) senior prom was May 5th and it was so cold, that it snowed that night. We drove to Great America the next day, to have to come home, because it was closed due to snow. So when we got back to our area, had dinner at Popeye's Chicken and went to the show to see Major League (of which I slept through, because I basically had no sleep)

Sam - I'm so glad I read your post about getting gas, because it reminded me to do that too. I hate these high prices, they really make me

Bunchkin - Your ticker says 2 days - how exciting!!! :cool1: It's good you get to leave this cold weather coming, and go to warmer weather :sunny:

Becky - That's great that you know how to sew - I would love to learn that someday. There are so many pretty fabrics out there. :)

mvazul - Sounds like you had a great shopping weekend :)
**I'm sorry to hear about your car. I sure hope the person that hits you pays up promptly.
**Thanks for answering the nursing school question (I never thought you were ignoring me :sad2: )

Debbie - Are you going back to school?

Rose - I'm sorry to hear about your BIL :guilty: I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers :wizard:

Tiggerrnnnn - I'm glad Tiggs is doing well :dog:

Crissup - :wave2:

Kim - Please keep us posted when your DH schedules his surgery, so we can keep him in our prayers :wizard:
**How's Kelly feeling?

HERSEY - I want our warm weather back too :guilty: I love the summer heat and I can hardly wait for it to get here :sunny:

Well, I gotta run and get Ms. Stephanie up for school :teacher:
Have a good day today everyone!!

mvazul SOO where was your family in 92

We were all in PA and NY at that time. We had a HUGE snowstorm in March, 1993. It was the last week of March. We had almost 4 feet of snow overnight. We ended up with 7 feet snow drifts. NEPA and Southern NY were in a state of emergency for 3 days. I remember listening to the scanners (my dad was a volunteer fireman) and heard about one lady who had gone into labor. They couldn't get an ambulance to her - remember, we lived in the middle of nowhere and she was on a very back road. Someone had to drive their snowmobile out to her to get her to the hospital. And the closest hospital is 10 minutes away (straight drive - no red lights) and doesn't deliver babies anymore!!

Then, the flooding came. The mountains were already full of snow from that winter and that storm made it worse. The next week, it warmed up and everything flooded. I was living in Ithaca, NY, at that time. Cayuga Lake flooded big time and people were literally fishing in the streets. I remember my bank parking lot had ducks swimming in it!! Unfortunately, friends of my parents house flooded. They had to spend the night and part of the next day on the roof. They said a couple bodies floated by as they were waiting for the water to lower or to be seen by a helicopter. :sad2: There was alot of damage.

My sister now lives near Buffalo - you know....where they got something like 18 feet of snow this year!! I'm telling you - it has to be my sister!! :rotfl:

Well my MRI results are in and the diagnosis’ is Cervical Spinal Stenosis.
I am going to pick up my PT order later today and get a ‘cript for an anti inflammatory.

Anyone have any experience with this? PT recommendations?

Any other websites that may be helpful?

Susan

geffric Not sure of the exact dx but my cousin just had back surgery for a disc problem she's only 25. My Aunt has something similar but no surgery for her yet.

I hope Pt is your answer.

And then we will all be complaining it is too hot!! :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I NEVER complain it's too hot! I love it!!!! (Even when I was pregnant I didn't care)

Happy Birthday to the twins Rose!!!!!!!!

My computer should be done tonight at 7! Yeah!

No Slo...I am not going back to work yet (might sub next year). Just trying to decide about 4 year old preschool.

Kim...DD will be in 4 year old preschool next year and I am leaning towards sending her to St Paul one more year on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
